Summary
Vampire Hunter D (In Japanese 吸血鬼 バ ン パ イ ア ハ ン タ ー D Banpaia Hantā Dī) is a series of Japanese novels written by Hideyuki Kikuchi and illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano. The story follows D, a vampire hunter who wanders the Earth in a post-nuclear future.
Beginning in 1983, Kikuchi has so far written 31 novels covering 44 volumes, with some novels comprising up to four books, and a collection of eight short stories. The series has already been adapted for anime, audio drama, manga and comics, as well as a collection of art books and complementary guides.

Power of the Verse
Vampire Hunter D is an extremely powerful verse, featuring some of the strongest vampire in fiction. Most of the nobles are Building level+, with the earlier versions of D scaling to them and eventually going into Tier 6 thanks to his feat against Zeramium Steel (Large Island level) to scaling higher than Dynus, a mutant with Large Country level+ power. However, it's on Volume 11 and onwards where the series truly shine in terms of power, with Greater Nobles and D scaling to Universe level to High Universe level based on being stronger than the Big Bang Accelerator, which could produce the same results as the big bang that created the universe. Full Vampire Form D scales to his own Universe level+ feat, and finally, Armageddon D and Sacred Ancestor scale far, far higher than the mentioned feats.
For speed, even in the first novels, Nobles and D are able to dodge and block light based attacks, going from Relativistic+ to FTL, with the stronger nobles scaling to D's Massively FTL feat of blocking Valcua's Particle Cannon. The God Tiers scale to D's Full Vampire Form, who was able to cross an Infinite distance and kill Matthew and was trapped in the Shrine of Information in Noble Front, and flew a hundred million light years, from said place on a distant Planet to Earth, in 0 seconds flat in order to come back, placing them at Infinite speed
The series maximum power are the Akashic Records, which can manipulate all reality, since they are a record of all space and time, they can be used by D, some of the Nobles and by their creator, known as The Sacred Ancestor. By being capable of altering multiple realities and transcend all time and space across multiple 4D structures, users of the Akashic Records have access to Low Complex Multiverse level of power.
