Introduction[]
In My Hero Academia, Chapter 43 Bakugo uses his Howitzer Impact for the first time in the series against Todoroki.
I'll be calculating the power of this explosion, and I have two ways of doing so.
Calculation[]
Method 1 (Accepted)[]
Stadium Top Diameter = 601.40675273 m (662 px)
Ice Length = 300.703376365 m (331 px)
Bakugo's explosion isn't shown to reach the full length of the ice, we can see in the panel in the top left that it comes up short. It isn't possible to measure where exactly his explosion reach, but it isn't that far from the top so I'll just assume it at least reached half the distance.
Explosion Diameter = 150.351688182 m
Explosion Radius = 75.1758440912 m
W = R^3*((27136*P+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2
W is yield in tons of tnt, R is radius in meters, and P is pressure of the shockwave in bars, the standard overpressure is 20 psi or 1.37895 bars.
75.1758440912^3*((27136*1.37895+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2 = 34.14 Tons of TNT (City Block level)
Method 2[]
Since we never get a good look of the size of Bakugo's blast or the ice wall in the manga, I'll use the anime to try and find the size of the explosion.
Midnight = 1.75 m (19 px)
Explosion Diameter = 133.276315789 m (1447 px)
Explosion Radius = 66.6381578947 m
As you can see here, the explosion does cover the majority of the ice wall. So I believe my measurements should be alright.
66.6381578947^3*((27136*1.37895+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2 = 23.78 Tons of TNT (City Block level)
