Based on this blog.
The original calc was based about the assumption that the waterspout's speed had just comparable to real life tornadoes, however i only recently realize that this could be wrong, as there was a scene in the movie where the waterspout reached an height of kilometers in a matter of seconds, this means that the waterspout's speed could be far higher than i previously thought.
The scene start from 1:06:33 and the waterspout only make it appearance at 1:06:43, i will then assume that the waterspout taken that amount of time to form and reach the sky where the jets were flying, this is important since one of the pilot stated that they were flying at an altitude of 2000 meters.
Speed = 2000/(43-33) = 200 m/s
Kinetic Energy = 1/2*7492622.97*(200)^2 = 149852459400 Joules or 35.8155974 Tons of TNT

35.816 Tons = City Block level
