As a long time defender of the controversial 8-C Captain America rating it pains me to do this, but my original calculation apparently underestimated the speed of Quicksilver as I recently saw in this Quora post, and it would be calc group malfeasance not to correct it. Unfortunately, this probably increases the feat so much that it's an outlier for Captain America.

So, apparently, as in the link above and here, a bullet was frozen (only moving because of camera panning]. So yeah this feat is even higher than originally calculated.

You might ask why not stick to the low-end? Thing is that's the human discus throw maximum speed, and Captain America is a superhuman. Plus, it's kind of circular reasoning to use a peak human discus throw speed to prove that Captain America's durability is not peak human and miles above what a human can do, and hence the discus throw should be even faster, and on and on.

The calculation in the original Quora post is flawed by our standards as we should assume the object moved one pixel if we see it on screen.

Bullet length: 23 px or 9 mm

1 px = 0.39 mm

Took about half a second before the screen leaves the view of the frozen bullet.

0.00039/0.5 = 0.00078

A Glock 17 and Beretta 90Two were both spotted in the Salvage Yard fight scene per the International Movie Firearms Database. They are 375 and 381 m/s respectively, average that for 378 m/s.

378/0.00078 = 484 615.38x

484615.38*12.51 = 6 062 538.41 m/s, Mach 17 815.80, 2.02% SoL, Sub-Relativistic

0.5*1.561*6082538.41^2 = 2.8876372e13 Joules, Town level

0.5*108.862*((6062538.41*12.51)/(108.862+1.561))^2 = 2.5677389e13 Joules, Town level

So yeah this thing was a massive outlier after all.

Or is it? 7-C Captain America anyone?
