The problem he did is using the beam to scale the diameter, because it's so thin

As you can see only the radius of the star has increased to 1.9099 times of the original, that means the energy will increase by 3.6477 times of the original.

Therefore new value= 3.6477*0.85556=3.121 teratons.

Conclusion

Thor tanks Nidavellir's energy=3.121 teratons of TNT (Small Country level)
