A random demon gets crushed (Hazbin)[]

At the beginning of the Hazbin Hotel pilot, a random thief snatches Angel Dust's goods and makes a mad dash off into the streets, before being crushed by a random boulder from the sky (2:59). According to the Word of God Vivzie, the thief survived this. Along with this, Vivzie has stated Demons are "extra resilient" and can survive being crushed, and that Demons can only be killed by Angels. Since this thief is a scrub comparing him to the main characters, this serves as a baseline for any character with a profile.

Calculations[]

Demon thief gets crushed

These two images are from the same set of frames so yes, the size is consistent.

Since these characters don't have official heights, as far as I'm aware, I have nothing to scale him off of, so I'll use the average adult male height which is 5'8.4" or 1.73736 m.

Thief: 250.50 px (1.73736 m)

For the volume of the rock, I'll use the length and the width are the same.

Rock length and width: 471 px (3.26665293 m)

Rock height: 487 px (3.37762204 m)

Volume: 36.042677 m^3

Density of crushed stone is 1602 kg/m^3.

Mass: 57740.3686 kg

After the thief is crushed by the rock, the camera then switches to a view of the sky to reveal Sir Pentious' blimp, implying that the rock crashed down because of the buildings he was blowing up, so we'll use average building height in finding its freefall energy, which is 8.6 m (two stories).

Energy: 4866358.27 J (Wall level, just over 2x smaller than +)

A bootleg explosion VIP (Helluva)[]

At the end of Loo Loo Land, after Blitzo and Robo Fizz's skirmish results in the theme park being engulfed in a sea of green flames, an explosion ignites and launches the I.M.P buddies, Blitzo, Moxxie, and Millie, into the sky and through the park's exit (15:09).

Calculations[]

Rerecalculation of the Loo Loo Land explosion

In the comments, User:DarthSpiderr suggested that I calculate the measurements of the explosion based off the distance between two tents visible in the background but looking back at it, those two tents are too far back to be scaled to the explosion. Fortunately, there is a tent with a visible flag that is in close proximity to the explosion, so I'll scale the explosion to the height of the tent flag.

Circus tent flag height: 44 px (1.5875 m)

Explosion diameter: 1770 px (63.8607954 m)

  • Explosion radius: 31.9303977 m

Explosion height: 821 px (29.6213068 m)

Ground Explosion Formula[]

"W = R^3*((27136*1.37895+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2"

  • W is yield in tons of tnt, R is radius in meters.

Explosive Yield: 2.61636601 tons of TNT (Large Building level)

Specific Heat Capacity Formula[]

"E = m*c*ΔT"

Volume: 94877.392957658 m^3

The density of fire, according to Google, is 0.3 kg/m^3.

Mass: 28463.2179 kg

For the temperature of the flames, as they are green which is non-indictive of its temperature, I'll be comparing it to the temperature of orange-yellow flames, the typical flames of a torch, which is 1100 degrees Celsius. Seeing as though the show takes place in Hell, these temperatures would likely be higher, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. With the average global temperature, on Earth, which I'll use, being 16 degrees Celsius, the change in temperature (c) is 1084 degrees Celsius.

And of course, the specific heat capacity of air (ΔT) is 919 J/kg.

Energy: 2.83549438e+10 joules (Large Building level+)

Moxxie intercepts a sniper (Helluva)[]

In the series premiere Murder Family, after the I.M.P crew descends into the mortal realm to take out their newest target, Moxxie comes face to face with a moral dilemma involving their current job. The crew is tasked with murdering the mother of a family of three, and just before Blitzo can get the shot in on her, Moxxie interjects and knocks his sniper off-balance (5:50), causing him to miss the shot and triggering the ensuing battle between the Imps and the bootleg Bakers.

Calculations[]

Moxxie makes some pretty quick movements here with his hands, and in order to measure those movements, I'll assume that Moxxie's head height is that of an average male, which is 0.239 m.

Moxxie's head₁: 191.07 px (0.239 m)

Distance Moxxie's arm moved: 342.72 px (0.428691474 m)

Moxxie's head₂: 183.95 px (0.239 m)

Distance sniper bullet moved: 164 px (0.213079641 m)

Blitzo's rifle looks extremely similar to the M39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle which has a muzzle velocity of 865 m/s, so I'll be using that for this calculation.

Time and reactions: 0.000246334845 seconds (Hypersonic+ reactions, just barely)

Speed: 1740.27947 m/s (Hypersonic)

Or.

User:DarthSpiderr suggested I find the distance that the bullet moved and subtract the length of the muzzle from it in order to find out the most accurate timeframe, as Moxxie pushed Blitzo's rifle after the bullet was fired. The bullet still missed, though.

I found the length of the muzzle, using the image where Moxxie pushed the gun, to be 27 px, which makes it 0.0337729629 m, and the bullet distance was 429.75 px, which makes it 0.558359608 m. The difference is 0.524586645 m, and with that:

Timeframe (JP Dub): 0.000606458549 seconds (Hypersonic reactions)

Speed: 706.876793 m/s (Supersonic, what the fu-)

Possibly a speed feat for Stolas (Helluva)[]

During his lullaby in Loo Loo Land, Stolas presumably flew from the surface of a moon as it neared a star in the middle of outer space, all the way back to the portal he created (1:57).

Calculations[]

Using the values provided in this calculation of the scene, we get a distance between the portal and the star as 5.2623e+9 m. There were 184 frames between the initial frame of the bodies moving and the frame in which Stolas reappears, so the timeframe is 7.36 seconds.

Speed: 714,986,413 m/s (FTL)

Cherri Bomb evades a raygun (Hazbin)[]

Riding off of the beginning of the Hazbin Hotel pilot, with the annual Extermination having wiped out much of the population, large areas of Hell have been opened up for take-over, and what better a man to take control than Sir Pentious and his powerful airship. Despite his efforts, he is interrupted by Cherri Bomb and engages in a ground battle with her, in which she evades several bolts from his raygun (5:13).

Calculations[]

Cherri Bomb's height

Before anything further, I'm going to find Cherri Bomb's height relative to Angel Dust's, who is 8-9 ft (8.5 ft as an average), as that is required to find the distance that she moved.

Angel Dust: 508 px (2.5908 m)

Cherri Bomb: 400 px (2.04 m)

In order to find the distance between Cherri Bomb and Sir Pentious, since there are no shots establishing a distance between them, I'm going to take the length of her throw and multiply it by Normal Human speed, which is 5 m/s. Their exchange was caught on camera, so this seems reasonable.

Timeframe of Cherri's throw: 16 frames (0.64 seconds)

Distance: 3.2 m

Now that we have a distance between the two of them, we can determine the timeframe she had to move in, and then measure the distance she moved in order to find her speed. For the speed of Sir Pentious' raygun, I'll use 556 m/s, the speed of electricity.

Timeframe: 0.00575539568 s

And, with a proper timeframe and a height for Cherri Bomb, we can measure the gap that Cherri covered when she evaded the raygun and then calculate her speed.

Angle sizing formula: "Distance from point of view = object size * panel height in pixels/[object height in pixels*2*tan(70deg/2)]"

Panel height: 1080 px

Cherri Dust's head₁: 299.10 px (0.3 m)

  • Distance from POV: 0.773520485 m

Cherri Dust's head₂ 212 px (0.3 m)

  • Distance from POV: 1.09132065 m

Distance moved: 0.317800165 m

Speed: 55.2177787 m/s (Subsonic)

Vaggie throws a knife (Hazbin)[]

In the middle of the Hazbin Hotel pilot, after getting mixed up in the turf war between Sir Pentious and Cherri Bomb, Angel Dust tarnished the reputation of Charlie in front of millions, leading to an awkward conversation on the limo ride back to the hotel. After Angel mocked Vaggie and made jokes about their current situation before playing with the window switch, Vaggie lashed out and launched a knife into the switch (15:38).

Calculations[]

Distance between Vaggie and Angel Dust

Oh yay, some more speed feats.

There are three frames between Vaggie and Angel Dust, and using some precise splicing, I combined all of them in order to yield the distance between Vaggie and the window switch.

Angel Dust: 1605.1 px (2.7432 m)

Distance between Vaggie and window switch: 3733 px (6.37989258 m)

There were 4 frames in between the sound of the knife being thrown and the knife stabbing into the window switch, which means the timeframe is 0.16 seconds.

Speed: 39.8743286 m/s (Subsonic)

Sir Pentious' Centripetal Force (Hazbin)[]

During the middle of the Hazbin Hotel pilot, admist a small-scale turf war, Sir Pentious wraps onto Angel Dust with a chain that he has for some reason and yanks him into the air before slamming him into the ground after Angel destroyed one of his Egg Bois. Immediately afterwards, Cherri Bomb bulldozes him.

Calculations[]

Radius of Sir Pentious' swing

As previously established, Angel Dust is 8-9 ft but for the sake of accuracy, I'll be using the average of 8.5 ft. Everything else from here is going to be smooth sailing.

Angle sizing formula: "Distance from point of view = object size * panel height in pixels/[object height in pixels*2*tan(70deg/2)]"

Panel height: 1080 px [The video is in 1080p after all]

Angel Dust: 127.3 px (2.5908 m)

  • Distance from POV: 15.6954027 m

In order to calculate the velocity of Sir Pentious' chain swing, I'm going to take Angel Dust's distance from POV and use that as the radius of a circle in order to find its circumference, as he swung Angel in a curved path. The circumference becomes 98.62 m, and we just cut that in half in order to find the actual distance of 49.31 m. Aside from that, I counted 26 frames between the frame where Angel was yanked by the chain and the frame where he crashed into the ground, which equates to a timeframe of 1.04 s.

Speed: 47.4134615 m/s (Subsonic)

Now, the big stuff. The formula for centripetal force is "F = mv^2 / r".

  • Velocity: 47.4134615 m/s
  • Radius: 15.6954027 m

As for mass, I'll calculate his ideal weight based on the fact he died in his 30s.

Ideal Weight: 167.8 kg

Force: 24033.82 N (Class 5)

Vox's City-wide Blackout[]

This comes from "💖 Inking the Hazbin Hotel ALASTOR Comic💖" (14:57).

Q: "What would Vox's full demon form look like, in your opinion?"
A: "Like a city blackout."

Calculations[]

I'm going to be taking a few beats from this calculation.

The United States in 2014, its most recent date, had a total electric power consumption of 12997.449 kWh per capita. Dividing this by 365 days nets us a total electric power consumption of 35.609 kWh per person.

According to the Hazbin Hotel Wiki, "Pentagram City is inspired by Chicago based its skyline and high crime rate", with Chicago having a population of 2.71 million.

35.609 kWh * 2.71 million = 96500390 kWh = 3.47401404e+14 J/s (Town level+)

Results[]

Random thief's durability: 4866358.27 J (Wall level)

Moxxie's speed: 1740.27947 m/s (Hypersonic) and 0.000246334845 seconds (Hypersonic+ reactions)
