Description[]

Hello once again! Back again with another Mega Man calculation. This time, I am going to be re-calcing this feat (minute 2:40).

Explanation[]

Previously, I made a calculation relating to the speed feat of this encounter and assumed the planet to be Saturn instead of Jupiter. The original calc also had some problems with the pixel scaling and uses escape velocity instead of apparent dispersion. So, figured I'd give this calculation a wee update.

Context[]

Planet is Saturn, and the clash appeared to have dispersed clouds. I will be assuming that the shape of the dispersed cloud mass was of an oblate dome. The density of Saturn is 687 kg/m^3. This feat would scale to all Classic Mega Man Robot Masters including Rock considering they can hurt each other, fight on par, yadda yadda.

Calculation[]

Here we go! Pixel scaling!

Screenshot 2020-01-10 at 02.16.37

Diameter of Saturn: 116,460,000

666 px / 3116 px = 0.214

Diameter of the portion of the cloud dispersed: 24,891,643.13 meters.

For the depth of the oblate dome we assumed:

24,891,643.13 meters / 4 = 6,222,910.783 meters

Finding the volume of this oblate dome with an online calculator will give us…

2.0188210775148279e+21 m^3

Now, to find the mass of the dispersed clouds using Saturn's density!

687 kg/m^3 x 2.0188210775148279e+21 m^3 = 1.38774e+24 kg

Speed of the clouds is a wee bit tricky. So, we’re going to have to assume a shown timeframe. So, the timeframe is 1.5 seconds, and the clouds must’ve displaced about the same distance as the radius of this oblate dome.

Here we go:

12,445,821.57 meters / 1.5 seconds = 8,297,214.38 m/s or 2.77% SoL (Sub-Relativistic).

So, we’re going to have to use the Relativistic Kinetic Energy calculator for this considering it's moving at speeds greater than 1% SoL.

Inputting in the values accordingly should give us a grand total of:

47,796,084,491,806,319,690,038,828,245,398,454,988 Joules.

Conclusion[]

To convert this colossal values to tons of TNT:

4.77960844918063187e+37 Joules / 4.184e+9 = 1.14235383584623135e+28 Tons of TNT or 11.42 Ronnatons of TNT. (Large Planet level+)
