The feat is described and shown here, and I'll be taking a few measurements from it. This is what I'll use for my original scaling if it isn't available in the first calc My main issue with the calc is that it assumes the castle was punted over 600 meters, despite it clearly just being bigger on the inside. Using this scaling Mario would also be over 100 meters tall. They also don't assume any amount of hollowness for the castle, so yeah.

Mario Height - 1.5 meters (That's a life-size statue)

Door to Height Ratio - 1.143x


1.143*1.5 = 1.7145 meters or 32 px

Door Height - 1.7145 meters

Door/Castle Ratio - 144x

144*1.7145 = 246.888 meters


Now comes the point where I have to start doing some original scaling.

Castle Height - 862 px

862/32 = 26.938x

26.9375*1.7145 = 46.1843 meters

Castle Height - 46.1843 meters


Modelling as a cylinder....

V = (pi)(r^2)(h) = 8,840,000 meters^3

Now we assume the standard 90% hollowness...

8,840,000*0.9 = 7,956,000

8,840,000-7,956,000 = 884,000 meters^3

Density of Stone - 2700 kg/m^3

2700*884,000 = 2,386,800,000 kg


Punting Distance/Castle Diameter Ratio - 1.364x

Timeframe - 0.68 seconds

1.364*493.776 = 673.5104 meters

673.5104 meters/0.68 seconds = 990.4565 m/s


KE = (m)(v^2)/2 = 1.171e15 Joules
