Energy= U * I * t (Thanks to DontTalkDT for finding it here, it's basically Ohm's law), where U is voltage in volts, I is current in amperes and t is time in seconds.
Usually you'd need a resistance value in Ohms/m and a voltage value to find the ampere value (By dividing voltage with the Ohm/meter value you get amperes which you can then dump in the U * I * t formula to get energy) but uh... the movie does it for you by blurting out the numbers for you in the single-digit to double-digit MA values.
