Introduction[]

It's my 100th calc blog, LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!!! To celebrate, here is a My Hero Academia feat involving A LASER??? SAY IT AIN'T SO! In chapter 330, Star and Stripe intercepts a laser. I'll be calculating her speed.

Calculation[]

Shigaraki's Height = 1.75 meters = 178.35 px

1.75 / 178.35 = 0.009812 meters per px

Star and Stripe's Arm Length = 88.2 px = 0.87 meters

I'll assume her arm moved 90 degrees based on what happens in the chapter.

Distance Traveled = (2 * pi * 0.87) / 4 = 1.37 meters

Proof that These Lasers are Real:

  • They travel in straight lines.
  • They're called lasers numerous times by both the fighter pilots and Star herself.
  • They come from a reliable source (technology).
  • Shigaraki sends them back with a Quirk called "Reflect."
  • Star has to issue an order on the laser with her Quirk in order to hold it, meaning she can't interact with it through normal means.

In the chapter, Star and Stripe states for her attack to reach 100 meters away from her and it hits Shigaraki, and the reflected light goes from Shigaraki to her. So, 100 meters is our distance that the light traveled.

Speed of Light = 299792458 m/s

Star's Speed = (1.37 * 299792458) / 100 = 4107156.67 m/s

Final Result[]

Star and Stripe Intercepts a Laser = 4107156.67 m/s; 0.014c (Sub-Relativistic)
