Ok. So my last calc got sad results. So I wanted to do another so I feel a little more accomplished. So now I'm doing one for Speed racer.

(NON-FUNCTIONAL LINK) here, we see an explosion that grows rather large. So I am gonna measure the house from the side as it is the size of the house. And it's height much more. Gonna try it for standard formula and overpressure.

IMG 5548

Standard windows are around 48 inches wide when comparing to smaller average sized ones like the one shown here. So we shall try with this. We will do the short side of the house first.

Window is 72 pixels and 48 inches

House is 315 pixels and 210 inches

Ok. So let's do the Standard explosion formula

Y = ((x/0.28)^3)/1000

Taking our Inches and putting them into Kilometers, divide in half, and then drop in out formula

Y = ((0.002667/0.28)^3)/1000

Which is 0.00086416158 tons of TNT. But divide it in half for non nuclear and

0.00043208079 tons of TNT. Wall

Not bad

But let's try from the long side

Window is 72 pixels and 48 inches

Long side is 372 pixels and 248 inches

Convert inches to kilometers, divide in half, and into the formula

Y = ((0.0031496/0.28)^3)/1000

Which gets 0.00142328578 tons of TNT. Divide in half for non nuclear and

0.00071164287 tons of TNT. Still wall

But we have one more thing to try. Overpressure

Radius in meters^3*((27136*1.37895 + 8649)^(1/2)/13568 - 93/13568)^2

So let's do this.

Short way first

The house length is as said before

210 inches. Divide in half for the radius. Gives 105 inches. Change to meters then Drop in the formula and

2.667^3*((27136*1.37895 + 8649)^(1/2)/13568 - 93/13568)^2

Gets 0.00152459524 tons of TNT. Wall+ Oof.

Now for the longway of the house

Longway is 248 inches. Divided in half is 124 inches. Then convert to meters.

3.1496^3*((27136*1.37895 + 8649)^(1/2)/13568 - 93/13568)^2

Which is 0.00251102895 tons of TNT. Wall+

So seems to be a Wall to Wall+ level explosion. Seems this Rider kid survived it as being dragged out. And the explosion is likely a lot stronger as being a lot more massive in size. It just grows off screen.
