Introduction[]
Ok. So in Metal gear. There’s a feat where an explosion completely destroys a tank. Now, I’m going to do three ends for the safest bet. Pulverizing, Melting, And Vaporizing. This also could probably work as a common feat for those M1 Abram destruction feats. If u didn’t make any mistakes, I likely will put it in my common feats page as well. So let’s do this.
Weight Of Tank[]
First, we need to get the Cubic Centimeter of the Tank. I was told this method. Considering it to be an M1 Abrams Tank. We will use the weight of 65,000 KG
Mass / Density to get the volume then convert to cubic centimeters using the found volume.
Mass: 71.650235 metric tons (65,000 kg) of steel
Density: 7700 kg/m
Volume = 65,000 / 7700 = 8.38709677419 m^3
0.155 m^3 = 8,441,558.44156 cm^3
Ok. Now that’s over. Let’s take this to the calc
Pulverizing end[]
The pulverizing for steel is 310-1000 J/CC. We will do a low and high end.
Lower end
8,441,558.44156 * 310 = 2,616,883,116.8836 Joules. Or 0.62545007573699817893 Tons of TNT. Building level
Higher end
8,441,558.44156 * 1000 = 8,441,558,441.56 Joules. Or 2.017580889474187344 Tons of TNT. Large Building Level
Disappointing end. But I think I might have done something wrong. It’s own page says it takes more force to break, but I’m unsure how they got that high, and there isn’t any link to any calc.
Melting end[]
Same CC as before. To melt steel that’s 7309.87 J/CC. So. More simple math
8,441,558.44156 * 7309.87 = 61,706,694,805.2062 Joules. Or 14.748254016540679245 Tons of TNT. City Block level
Vaporizing end[]
Just like before. But with Vap values. To vaporize steel, it takes 60117.42 J/CC. So let’s see
8,441,558.44156 * 60117.42 J/cc = 507,484,714,285.808 Joules. Or 121.29175771649330784 Tons of TNT. Multi City Block
That’s a lot nicer.
Final Tally[]
Pulverizing Lower end = 2,616,883,116.8836 Joules. Or 0.62545007573699817893 Tons of TNT. Building level
Pulverizing Higher end = 8,441,558.44156 * 1000 = 8,441,558,441.56 Joules. Or 2.017580889474187344 Tons of TNT. Large Building Level

I think I may have done something wrong. I say this cause the page for the M1 Abram says it takes up to 20 Gigajoules for total destruction, which is vastly beyond even my high end for Pulverizing it. If I did a mess up. Let me know so I can fix. But here’s it for now.
