Another StarCraft Respect Thread? Better believe it.

I'll be identifying all significant feats of Amon, from scaling to personally achieved, covering his Hybrid Form, True Form, and Full Power Form. If I didn't explain a power from his profile, it means it is either somewhat mundane or it works exactly like you think it would with no big twists.

Hybrid Form[]

While lacking some powers, such as the Spatial Manipulation and Life Creation, of his True Form, Amon's Hybrid Form is still incredibly potent, and he is able to use the vast majority of his abilities.

Power[]

While not yet at full power, Amon's Hybrid Body is already vastly more powerful than any hero unit in the game. This body was created from a significant portion of Artanis' people and the body of the original Overmind. To put this in perspective, a Hybrid Reaver, made of normal Protoss and Zerg genetics, is capable of nearly killing Primal Kerrigan. It is directly stated that "Amon is beyond any foe we have faced," which includes all the Hybrid, Kerrigan, the Tal'Darim, and more. Any individual challenging even his unpowered Hybrid Form is ludicrous and is not even considered throughout the story. The power to create an intercontinental storm is nothing in the eyes of Amon.

With the energy of his Void Shards surrounding him, he is far more powerful. Although he is not yet awake to use it, Amon in this state could solo the verse. The United Protoss (which includes the Golden Armada, Death Fleet, Cybros, and Spear of Adun), the strongest faction of StarCraft, cannot do anything to Amon with his shards. This means that all the Protoss' powers, such as mind and matter manipulation, Time Stop, Time Slow, and the raw power to destroy planetary surfaces (such power is displayed by smaller groups than the Golden Armada and Death Fleet, Cybros, and the Spear of Adun; as such at least 4 sources of planetary wiping power can be used against Amon), are nothing to Amon. Upon awakening, despite losing the power of his Void Shards, his only attack he is allowed to use instantly destroys anything it touches. The buildings destroying here are easily capable of taking hits from Terran Nukes, which are more powerful than Leviathans, which can strike with massive force. Such a showing is expected of such of a powerful being, but it supports the hype being placed on him.

Possession[]

When Amon controls an entity, they are not just turned into puppets. He actively enters them, empowering them and taking them over. The target's energy and eyes turn red, and even the subtitles switch to show that Amon, not the possessed target, is speaking. He is capable of taking over entire races, as he shows with the Khalai Protoss.

Despite the Protoss being gifted with the natural ability to resist such abilities, they are made vulnerable to them because of the Khala. This psionically charged stone bound the Protoss together, granting them an empathic link. Amon possessed it, and thus took over the Protoss. Yes. Amon took control of a psychic rock. He also took over all the Khalai Protoss, which includes psionic machines, such as the Sentry and Warp Prism.

He can use this ability in all forms, even while disembodied. In fact, even if Amon's consciousness is contained, he still must be removed from all he is possessing, as he is within them as well, before he can be defeated. Even after being removed, all previously possessed targets must remove the way he possessed them in the first place, or else he is not defeated and can break containment.

Mind Manipulation[]

In addition to being able to mind control and enter millions of Protoss, he also is able to control humans and Zerg alike. Originally pure, Amon is the one who created the Zerg Hive Mind and bound most Zerg to his will. Before Kerrigan was freed of Amon's grasp, the Overmind, which controlled the entire Zerg Swarm in its prime, drew on Amon's power to accomplish this Hive Mind effect. Quadrillions, if not quintillions, of minds bound to Amon's will.

He is not limited to just Zerg and possessed Protoss, however. Bestowing the same gift to his Hybrid, the Moebius Corps were mentally destroyed or enslaved. Anyone not bestowed with mental resistance, natural or otherwise, is subject to being mentally destroyed or enslaved by Amon. Speaking of destroying minds, Amon is more than capable of doing so.

In fact, his mastery over the psionic powers that ripple through reality allow him to achieve feats far above mass mind control and mental destruction. The Xel'naga see energy, matter, consciousness, and essence as one. In addition to this, they are able to be changed and manipulated at will. Amon is able to take matter and add consciousness to it, as was done to forge the Khala, or erase consciousness by turning it into inanimate matter. Amon can quite literally turn your mind into a vegetable.

Matter Manipulation[]

Amon is a Xel'naga, and as such possesses psionic abilities far outstripping even the most advanced High Templar. A trained Templar is able to distort the atomic essence of matter and deconstruct molecules. Not only is Amon above this, but, as mentioned above, he is also able to transmute energy to matter, and vice versa, as do the Protoss, shown in the sources above.

True Form[]

While less is known of Amon's True Form than his Hybrid Form, we do know some of his power, and how much greater it is than his Hybrid Form. This form has all the abilities of his Hybrid Form, and more.

Power[]

Amon's True Form is immensely powerful. He is stated by Zurvan, a being who witnessed his power, that Amon can rip worlds apart. Don't believe it or think it is hyperbole? Well an ancient Xel'naga artifact disagrees. An ancient artifact, charged with some of the Xel'naga's power, destroyed a planet in cataclysmic fashion. Even if the energy yield was not High 5-A, the world destroying statement is confirmed by a legitimate planet bust.

Amon ripping worlds apart is likely done casually, as Zurvan was only echoing what Kerrigan claimed. The Xel'naga artifact that so violently destroyed Shakuras used only a tiny portion of a Xel'naga's power. Alarak gives us insight into how powerful Amon truly was. He knows Amon's true power, and claims that it "would be easier to destroy every star in the galaxy" than destroy Amon, adding that "Amon cannot die."

Regeneration[]

As a Xel'naga, it is not enough to destroy their physical body in the normal universe. When fighting the other Xel'naga, Amon was killed yet not destroyed. He returned to the Void, regaining his true form, yet unable to return to the physical universe without a host body or a portal large enough for his true self to enter. Due to this, it is not combat applicable unless the enemy combatant then takes the fight to the Void. If he is destroyed in the Void, he is erased and dies permanently. If you can't do that, you can't destroy Amon normally.

Longevity[]

While not truly immortal, the Xel'naga are the closest thing you can get. The Keystone, a weapon built to counter Amon, is already billions of years old. While I could not find a direct page, this book has been cited in saying the that Xel'naga enter a new universe and raise new species, then uplift them to become Xel'naga. This cycle has been repeated countless times to the point that time itself has been impacted. Even if Amon arose as a product of the previous universe, he is at least a dozen billion years old at absolute minimum.

Due to this extreme longevity, Age Manipulation should have no effect on him unless said manipulation is able to turn the clock billions of years forward very quickly.

Full Power[]

Upon fully manifesting his True Form or Hybrid Form, Amon would gain his full power. While he does not gain any new abilities, his power is drastically increased. At this point, he is an apocalypse. The end of all things.

Power[]

When at full power, Amon is a universe-destroying entity. Not convinced by a claim? Good. Let's put this to bed, shall we?

Zeratul states that, because of Amon, "the fate of creation hangs in the balance."

Zeratul fears that, if Amon is to win, that "this entire universe will burn."

Jim Raynor states that Zeratul was looking for clues about the being (Amon) that would bring about "the end of the universe."

Xel'naga Kerrigan states that, although she may not deserve redemption, that "our universe does," implying Amon would destroy the universe if she does not stop him.

Amon himself states that, after he destroys it, he "will remake the universe."

Amon also states that "your (Malash's) universe will be freed of its suffering." By this he means that he will destroy all life in the universe, thus ending all suffering.

In a vision, granted by Ouros, Amon reaches full power. In this alternate timeline, Amon is successful and destroys the universe.

Ouros states that Amon is "one with the Void" and that it is "an extension of his will."

Amon himself states that "the Void reflects my (Amon's) will."

Rohana states that, when Amon returned to the Void, he twisted it.

I hope any worry about Amon not being a universe-destroying threat at full power has been put to rest by this.
