Introduction[]

This is a blog where I will be going over all of the feats that I could find in the RPG Maker Series made by John Clowder. This will include a variety of feats from Middens and Gingiva. However, I haven't gotten around to buying Where They Cremate The Roadkill yet, and since I have to buy some presents for some of my family for christmas, I probably won't be getting it for a couple of months.

Anyways, I absolutely love this game series, perhaps one of my favorites to date. Its gameplay leaves a bit to be desired but not many games strive to tell a story as bizarre, meaningful, and abstract as the ones presented here, while making lots of social commentary and coating it all up with some unsettling philosophical overtones. The characters are unforgettable too, each being weird and sometimes cryptic in their own way, like the Reptile Twins exchanging about their plot to commit a robbery as they touch hands.

Even feat wise, the series doesn't disappoint. While there are no on-screen feats of busting worlds, there are quite a few statements that are extremely straightforward.

Feats in Middens[]

Felis Umbra[]

First up, the Felis Umbra can each devour a dozen collapsed stars for breakfast. Now let me take some time to explain just how impressive this feat is:

First up, whenever a star collapses, it becomes a Neutron Star. A single one of these stars possesses a GBE of 5.23 * 10^46 Joules on average. That alone is Solar System level, or to be more specific, 523 Foe. That is roughly 23 times baseline solar system level. Since they devour a dozen of these stars for breakfast, that is a total GBE of 6.27 KiloFoe. That's nearly 280 times baseline Solar System level. So no matter what assumption you make, whether they eat them one by one or not, it's still at least 20x higher than baseline Solar System level.

The Felis Umbra eat this for breakfast; it's part of their daily routine. Not only are their jaws alone capable of destroying the stars, but they have all twelve of those neutron stars in their system, and it doesn't hurt them any more than it hurts you to eat a box of cocoa puffs. That's how casual this feat is.

Obviously, this feat is going to warrant an "at least" prefix for the 4-B ranking. Their peak strength is likely far, far, far higher, as possibly every day, they absorb at least 6.27 KiloFoe of energy into their bodies from their diet of neutron stars.

So the tally for this feat:

  • Low end - At least 523 Foe - 23 times baseline Solar System level.
  • High end - At least 6.27 KiloFoe - 280 times baseline Solar System level.

Gene Player[]

Next up we have a mini-boss (I don't know if you can call this a boss) known as the Gene Player. When you interact with him, he asks The Nomad, "Ever felt the inner membrane of a black hole? It feels just like a cat's tongue"

The game includes lots of philosophical tones and science-fictional elements, so it's highly likely that John Clowder knows what a black hole is. Going by the black hole diagram, and by interpreting the quote, I'm assuming that, as if he were sticking his hand inside a cat's mouth to feel its tongue, he is sticking his hand through the Event Horizon and feeling the inner part of the gray area, where spacetime starts to distort from the gravity.

Black-Hole-Regions-

It's a commonly known fact that black holes can swallow and destroy star systems with relative ease using their sheer gravitational power, but the Gene Player is comparing that kind of power to that of a cat licking you.

Black holes tend to be 10 to 100 solar masses.

Putting 100 solar masses into this calculator gets me 1.989 * 10^32 kg, which is a mass 100,284,661.755 times that of Earth's, and 100 times that of the sun (probably because it's 100 solar masses...)

It may not be as solid of a feat as the last one, and some stuff is left up to interpretation, but it definitely supports "At least 4-B" in consistency.

Vermis Worms[]

Genie states that Vermis Worms can tunnel through dimensions and are the ones who stitch the space-time fabric of The Rift together with their silk. That is some very strong evidence for High 3-A

Many different species of Vermis Worms have tons of their own unique feats and statements as well:

This form of water vermis worm can "pacify" an entire ocean.

This form of vermis worm can disrupt electrical wires for miles around.

The Rift[]

Next up we have The Rift itself. The Rift has countless statements describing it, in both Middens and Gingiva. I'll just mention them alll here.

Tiering[]

First up, The Rift is a collection of scrapped universes and dimensional chunks, all tied together by the silk  of Vermis Worms. Any time part of a dimension is scrapped or unwanted, it is assimilated into The Rift's boundaries. This sounds like "At least 2-C, likely 2-B" to me.

The Rift assimilates worlds by gradually expanding and devouring parts of the world, which is part of the main plot in Gingiva. Every being within The Rift is an immigrant from another universe who was sucked in and brought part of their home dimension with them upon being devoured. Genie states in Gingiva that sometimes the rift will devour things whole, and other times it will chew things up. Anything that is chewed up will get flattened like a pancake. This is an explanation as to why some dimensions are only assimilated in scraps while others are devoured whole.

When the Reptile Twins rob a laboratory, one of the NPCs mentions the rumor that deep in the lab is an inter-dimensional vehicle. Later, this is confirmed when they confront Your Mom (no, I'm not joking, that's actually the guy's name), who explains that the subway is actually an interdimensional vehicle that is meant to take people into The Rift's inner reaches. This strongly implies that there are multiple dimensions within The Rift, since they need an inter-dimensional vehicle to reach the inner reaches. This also supports 2-C.

Lastly for a tier 2 ranking, here is a statement about infinite space.

So The Rift is a realm that contains discarded scraps of many universes, or discarded universes in their entirety, each of which can vary in size from that of small towns to cosmic proportions of space. And as the state

The Rift is highly sensitive and is strongly implied to be sentient. Genie states that it "does not know what it is", and that drawing a map of it is pointless, as it is ever-changing and always in a state of becoming. It senses every single grain of sand that is moved, and can memorize entire identities from fingerprints and stray hair follicles. This shows that it has Shapeshifting, Enhanced Senses, and possibly Reactive Evolution, as it is constatly changing. With some of the feats mentioned before, it should also possess Size Manipulation and Absorption

After fighting either Mr. Freedom or the First Peson Shooter, the respective boss will tear open a hole in The Rift's inner walls from the sheer "force of their death", flinging the party towards The Rift's very heart. Here, they meet The Face of The Rift, who claims that the folds of its body encompasses that space, and that it's mind is the size of a world's continent. The Face of The Rift decides to let them go, and teleports them back out to a faraway land. This whole encounter is a confirmation that The Rift is indeed sentient.

Feats in Gingiva[]

Chatterteeth[]

Chatterteeth are known to burrow holes in the walls of houses and live there. In between the walls of a prison, some of the elder Chatterteeth even chewed up entire underground towns. The one that accompanies Gingiva is shown looking for weak spots in the walls of prison cells and escaping via digging with its impressive molars.

The Queen Mother Most high states that Chatterteeth as a species can contain all manner of diseases.

Quark Star[]

One of the many attacks in the game is known as Quark Star. Like many other techniques, the move itself is rather vague. Most of the time we're left with brief descriptions and weird animations, while other times we're just left with the name alone. So I'm doubting the legitimacy of this particular move as a feat, but if we give it the benefit of the doubt, this would be another Solar System level feat, as Quark Stars are neutron stars condensed even further into Quark matter, meaning they must have higher GBE. I made a blog calculating the GBE of a Quark Star here.

The thing about this move is, there's nothing else that the move could be. I don't have access to any gifs or videos, but the attack shoots a glowing sphere at the target, which afterward expands and covers the whole screen. This glowing sphere is most likely the Quark Star, and when the animation shows it expanding, it's likely supposed to be the star exploding. Thus, not only is the Quark Star being thrown (possibly created beforehand, as it's unlikely that a quark star just randomly happens to be nearby every time the enemy uses this attack), but it is being destroyed as well. So the GBE of the Quark star is being surpassed.

Of course, I'll have to get the calc and the assumptions accepted before I rely on this feat.

The Second Person Shooter is one of the enemies that I recall using it, as well as the Outcrop (but I'm not as sure on it, I've recently played through Gingiva and fought an Outcrop and it never used the attack, even when I spent numerous turns doing nothing but defending).

Feats in Where They Cremate The Roadkill[]

Pre-Game Speculation/Interpretation[]

EDIT: I finallygot some clarification from the game developer. None of the spells mentioned in the pre-game speculation were added into the game, but it's possible that an expansion will be made, going by traditions. So as of now, nothing mentioned in the pre-game speculation is relevant. Because of this, I'll give you the option to collapse it.

I haven't played Roadkill yet, and currently I've got school stuff to do so I'm not going to be purchasing the game until christmas break. But looking through some articles and developer logs...

https://gamejolt.com/games/middens/9657/devlog

Learn subversive spells that allow the player to perform occult miracles, destroy enemies, warp reality and prank the public. Bring to life an army of animate objects, turn people into flies and pigs, summon exiled spirits for conversation and cast love spells on the hapless town folk.
So this means the main characters possess Reality Warping, Life Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, Transmutation, and Empathic Manipulation, and other miracle magic. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2136199701/where-they-cremate-the-roadkill
Conjure schools of fish out of solid ground. Summon cats into the house of a person with allergies to defeat them. Turn bovines into burger meat with a flick of the wrist. Bring to life an army of inanimate objects. Create havoc by casting love spells on train commuters and turn someone's pet dog inside out.
So more Transmuation, Animal Manipulation, and turning people inside out.

Emnn[]

Hax and Abilities[]

At the beginning of the game...

I don't know about Emnn's gender, so for now I'll just refer to Emnn as a "he" because it's just easier that way. https://youtu.be/09cEA6PW5z4

You've been in a conversation with me your whole life. I've always been standing in that black dot in the corner of your eyes. I've heard all your interior thoughts and I know what you want
~ The Devil
So in his first line of dialog, he has revealed that he/she has the ability to read minds. Right after that, we get this:
The World isn't above us or below us. Why, it's in the palm of my hand. It is my hand. The one I wipe with.
~ Emnn
Later in the conversation, he reveals that he meant this literally, as his hand shapeshifts into an entire city, and the landscape his hand forms continues to expand on as you travel after that. Said world is crawling with life forms, and contains the backyard that your character intended to go to in order to bury his roommate's remains to begin with. This means his hand literally morphed into the entire world; not just any world, but the SAME world your character just so happened to originally be in.
I know you've met all sorts of beings on your way here... in truth you have only met me in different guises.
~ Emnn
This means that every NPC up to that point was merely either another form of his, or a being that he possessed. This includes the one NPC that said they weretrapped between two parallel planes that stretched on infinitely. If it were possession, that would explain why the radio, TV, and lamp, from your character's own house, tried to kill your character towards the beginning of the game.
I am not limited to time. I make time. You see I'm not just the people or animals. Not just the things with mouths and ears. I am the ears and mouths and also the ideas they communicate.
~ Emnn
So he is not restricted by time, makes his own time, and is "the ideas that the mouths and ears communicate". I don't know how to interpret the latter part of this quote, but the first part does indeed show that he is not restricted by time. Later on he gives you a gift from his pocket. It's a Genie, which he transforms into a kitty phone. This is basically your guide through the game; it has knowledge of the battle system, the different kinds of weaknesses enemies have, and even has a Duck Hunt mini game where you shoot ducks to gain free EXP. After that, he detaches his arm and sends it over to you, holding the phone. Immediately after that he is shown holding your character in his very hand right before he shapeshifts it into a world. So all of this suggests that The Devil has the following: Shapeshifting, Size Manipulation, Body Control, Possession, Mind Control, Mind Reading, Transmutation, Time Manipulation, resistance to said Time Manipulation (as he is not limited by time), and possibly Reality Warping as well (given the whole feat with his hand becoming the world)

Stats[]

The Devil should be equal to God, whom an NPC stated to have created the universe. This could be a Low 2-C feat, as said God is considered an almighty being in a world full of High 3-A vermis worm house pests.  For speed, we can simply go by the time statement earlier; he isn't limited by time, therefore he should have infinite speed. So the stats are as follows:

Attack Potency/Durability: At least High Universe level (Should be far superior to Vermis worms and Genie, morphed his hand into the entire world), possibly Universe level+ (Should be equal to God, who was stated to have created the universe and is portrayed as an almighty being in a world full of High Universe level house pests)

Speed: Infinite (Stated that he wasn't restricted by time)

Coolie:[]

Coolie is the first character that you play as. He/she is first introduced committing suicide via Genie. He goes up to heaven and meets God, who sends him back down as a vengeful spirit, where he meets Emnn, who convinces him to go around killing for revenge and rebellion. With every kill and crime he commits, Emnn's power and influence would only grow stronger.

Spells:

  • Provoke: Agitates a passive creature into aggression.
  • The Love of Money: Fires coins in all directions. Takes away some money.
  • Summon Noshka: Self-Explanatory.
  • Otherworld Relic: Creates an odd rectangular prism that floats around the screen. Damages anybody it collides with.
  • Mind Barrier: Creates a forcefield that reflects damage.
  • Toughen: Temporarily boosts defense.
  • Past Lives: Gives Coolie the state, "Rise". If Coolie dies with this state active, he will be brought back to life with a little bit of HP left.
  • R & R: Puts Coolie to sleep, but makes him heal damage slowly while he's sleeping.
  • Invisible: Turns Coolie Invisible.
  • Tongue Lash: Launches Coolie's tongue out at the opponent.
  • Convulse: Coolie dashes around the screen in a square-ish pattern, creating afterimages and generating electric jolts.
