X-Men: Space Lightning
Calc requested by Huesito88.
In X-Men Gold, Storm fires lightning from space to Earth.
The scaling is a little rough, curvature scaling is and forever will be the thorn in my side. If anyone has a problem with it, I'll re-do it.
The planets diameter is 1278 pixels, or 12,742 km and the screenheight is...also 1278 pixels.
2atan(tan(70/2)*(1278/1278)) = 0.884961621024 Radians
0.884961621024×180°/π = 50.704565916° Degrees
Angsizing yields 1.3446e+7 meters
Now for the tried and true method of finding timeframe: Use a bunch of timeframes and see which one people are okay with. The lightning takes a single page from space to hit Earth and everyone seems to immediately freak out over the bolts. So it happened quickly. 1 second, 5 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds…
Halo: Vaporizing Spartan Armor
A quick calc done before bed, requested by Hellbeast1 who wanted to find the results for vaporizing Spartan armor. Should be easy enough.
According to Halonation, the armor is composed of several metals but the only one Hellbeast listed was Titanium. Since we actually have a vaporization value for Titanium, I'll use that as basis. According to the Halo wiki, Spartan armor is 1000 lbs, or 453.592 kg. Titanium has a density of 4,506 kg/m^3
453.592 / 4,506 = 0.10066400355 m^3, or 100,664.00355 cm^3
Vaporization of Titanium is 49,079.7 j/cm^3
100,664.00355 * 49,079.7 = 4,940,559,095.03 J

Lucky Charms: The Leprechaun blows up the moon
So the ungrateful little kids in the Lucky Charms commercial make one of the Leprechauns spells go off and ends up blowing up the moon. What assholes.
Feat here.
So the Moon is 88 pixels in this shot. The spell actually makes the moon grow, so this is its "base" size. The moon has a diameter of 3,474 km.
So the moon grew to 148 pixels.
148 / 88 = 1.68181818182
3,474 * 1.68181818182 = 5,842.63636364 km
5842.63636364 / 2 = 2,921.31818182 km
(4 × pi × r3)/3
(4 × pi × 2,921.31818182^3)/3 = 104,429,979,892 km^3
So: 1.04429979892e+20 m^3
The Moon has a density of 3,340 kg/m^3
1.04429979892e+20 * 3,340 = 3.4879613e+23 kg
Moon diameter is 440 pixels, so 5,842.63636364 km and the blast radius is 335 pixels
440 / 335 = 1.31343283582
5,842.63636364 / 1.31343283582 = 4,448.37086777…
Gorillaz: Sunshine in a Bag
So I recently rewatched the music video for the Gorillaz song, Clint Eastwood and noticed a really good feat. Del the Ghost Rapper causes a thunderstorm upon his release. Now, how do can we tell Del caused the storm? Well:
- It was a sunny day before Del was released, so sunny in fact that the sun light was a pretty massive glare.
- As soon as Russel Hobbs starts to get overtaken by Del, clouds blot out the sky, blotting out the sunshine.
- Del controls the ground around them too, meaning its not out of the question that he can cause storms.
- Lastly, when Del returns to Russel's head, the storm starts to disperse.
Now that we have that out of the way. Feat here
The storm is seen going as far back to the horizon from Del's perspective. Now, Del is a giant, …
One Punch Eggman: Egg-Sama destroys the moon
While browsing Shadow the Hedgehog memes, I came across this wonderful gem.
Feat here, happens at happens here
Moon diameter is 1069 pixels ad the screen is 1366 pixels. The actual diameter of the moon is 3,474 km
1366 / 1069 = 1.277
3,474 * 1.277 = 4,436.298 km
It takes 1 frame for the moon to dispiece across the screen.
Video runs at 60 fps
1 / 60 = 0.01666 seconds
4,436.298 km / 0.01666s = 266,284,394 m/s
0.888c
The Moon has a total mass of 7.34767309 × 10^22 kg
Inputting this into the Relativsitic Kinetic Energy calculator, I get a result of 7.745e+39 J
1.85 Quettatons
Dwarf Star level+
Egg-Sama is approx 34,471,247.9 times stronger then canon Saitama. Go figure.
