“ | I fought my old hero, Triple Star. Was it a dream? Was it real life? When I fight assassins, my mind just goes blank. It's like a form of etiquette between two people fighting to the death. As always, I took three deep breaths, and closed my eyes. But this time, my trick for clearing my emotions didn't seem to work. Triple Star was right in front of my eyes. My own personal superstar. Memories of childhood came flooding back. My emotions were all out of whack. I killed my own hero. No more heroes. | „ |

Summary
Travis Touchdown is the protagonist and antihero of the No More Heroes series. A professional assassin as well as avid otaku and gamer, Travis lives in a small town known as Santa Destroy, located between Los Angeles and San Francisco. He wields a beam katana which he won on an internet auction to fight other Assassins in Ranked Matches organized by the UAA.
Originally led to his life by a wish to kill his parents' murderer, Travis forgot his motive after a night of hard drinking, instead being lured into the UAA by one of its scouts, Sylvia Christel, who managed to trick him into a vicious circle of violence. Travis managed to kill his way to the top, killing Jeane, but was forced to retreat from his #1 rank, as an endless amount of aspiring assassins threatened his life, seeking his position.
Two years later, Travis Touchdown's influence had completely changed Santa Destroy, being seen by many both among assassins and the general population as a hero, and as a villain by those related to the people he'd killed. Travis was forced to return to action to get revenge for the murder of his only friend, done by some in the latter group. Once again, he climbed to the top of the UAA, but decided to destroy the whole organization as he realized the effect it had on assassins that couldn't quit like he did, drawing them in an ever-growing spiral of violence. He also got in a relationship with Sylvia, whom he'd eventually marry and have two children (named Hunter and Jeane) with.
Unwilling to put up with his fame, which only grew with the disbandment of the UAA, Travis left society, retreating in a camper in the woods to play videogames in peace, where he was eventually attacked by Badman, seeking revenge for the death of his daughter, but both were sucked into Travis' game console, where they forced an unstable alliance to bring back Bad Girl and solve a top-secret CIA conspiracy.
In 2021, Travis' relatively peaceful lifestyle was interrupted once again by a world-wide alien invasion: The intergalactic alien conqueror Jesse Baptiste VI, also known as FU arrived on Earth, threatening to take it over if nobody was able to defeat him and his Galactic Superhero Association. After several tough fights, Travis managed to defeat FU with the help of his friends, and kill the power-mad Damon Riccitiello as well in one final duel... Until his children from the future came to find him, warning him that his brother was about to kill him and destroy the world, and following them into their future was the only way to save himself and planet Earth, and reminding Travis that he would never have been able to escape his destiny of bloodshed.

Powers and Abilities:
Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Weapon Mastery, Martial Arts (Travis implements plenty of hand to hand combat in his combat style, suplexing stunned foes with a variety of pro wrestling moves. He is also knowledgeable in japanese martial arts[1]), Acrobatics (Can perform various sorts of highly athletic moves in combat, even casually pulling off front-flips in the middle of attack strings), Vehicular Mastery (Often engages in vehicular combat against multiple opponents,[2] drove through a highway full of obstacles and enemies[3]), Immortality (Type 2 and 3) and Regeneration (Low-Mid, Healed from Jeane’s punch through his heart[3] in the span of a few days at most, having already healed it by the time of his fight with Henry.[4] In No More Heroes III, after being gravely wounded by FU Travis recovered over less than a full day with seemingly no medical help.[5] Stated that several deep wounds to the chest wouldn't be enough to kill him), minor Vibration Manipulation (By suplexing an enemy Travis can cause a small shockwave that makes other nearby enemies flinch), Accelerated Development (Throughout the span of the first No More Heroes Travis went from being far weaker than his master Thunder Ryu[6] to surpassing him, defeating Speed Buster when he couldn't,[7] then even stronger foes. Can instantly learn wrestling moves just from watching VHS tapes of wrestling matches [in NMH1] rented at Beef Head or reading magazines about them [in NMH2]. Can grow in strength by a significant margin in the span of a couple weeks at most just by working out. Went from being seriously wounded by a single hit from FU to fighting evenly with a stronger form of his in the span of roughly two weeks in No More Heroes III [5]), Extrasensory Perception (Can sense other assassins by noticing their "bloodlust",[8] even if they've left that life behind years before. Sensed "something" about Kamui.[9] Sensed Damon's bloodlust from far away.[10] Specifically didn't sense the bloodlust of a dead alien.[11] Sylvia mentioned Travis having a "sixth sense" in No More Heroes III.[12] Not only could he feel FU's intense bloodlust, more intense than any other he'd ever felt, but he understood that the source of it was FU's fear .[13] Can sense when the player is playing the game.[9] Can sense hidden objects via the Accelerator. With the Memory of Three, he can sense the presence of all enemies close to him), Status Effect Inducement (Able to reliably stun foes with certain attack combos,[6] or even just one blow if he manages to break their guard[14]), Instinctive Reaction (Said he makes his mind go blank during a fight[15] and has often said he's driven by his instincts throughout the series. Dodged a surprise attack from Destroyman while his back was turned,[16] and can consistently block attacks coming from behind him without needing to turn, even ones that would require extreme precision such as bursts of automatic gunfire), Precognition (There are many examples of normal people in Suda51's games being capable of instinctually sensing or perceiving things they could otherwise not know, with some examples being shown by entire groups or populations of people: as a highly skilled assassin, Travis' instincts are far beyond normal people's), Magic and Teleportation (Able to counter-perform Harvey's magic traps/tricks with his own, warping out of a box after being locked in it[17]), Aura (Was shown to glow with a red aura in his fight against Helter Skelter[18]), Attack Reflection (Able to bat attacks back at his foes, including baseballs,[19] clones launched at him,[2] energy beams[20] or spheres, even with his bare hands[16]), Breaking the Fourth Wall (Has broken the fourth wall dozens of times throughout the series, often directly addressing the viewer and showing full awareness of the cliches of the sort of games he's in. Can attack the menus of a JRPG-style battle[13]), Heat Manipulation, limited Electricity Manipulation (Beam Katanas emit intense heat although they appear to also physically cut through objects, given that their blows become stronger after Travis's physical strength increases. when charged they also emit large sparks of electricity), Non-Physical Interaction (Can hit away balls of energy), Time Manipulation (Able to temporarily slow down time with a Dark Step/Perfect Dodge, to the point that everything appears greatly slowed down. Even less-than-perfect dodges, which don't make Travis slow down time, will make the enemy completely lose track of him for a few seconds. Capable of slowing down time with certain Dark Side Mode powers. Also fast forwarded the game when Jeane explained her backstory, although this is likely not combat applicable[3]), Fire Manipulation (Blueberry Cheese Brownie lets Travis shoot fireballs[21]), Explosion Manipulation (Via Anarchy of the Galaxy and his Beam Katana, which can cause defeated foes to explode), Energy Projection (Can fire energy bolts whilst in Dark Side Mode), Statistics Amplification (Can increase his power and speed with several Dark Side Mode abilities), limited Technology Manipulation (Can control a street sign by charging his beam katana[22]), Clairvoyance and Precognition (Able to make himself dream certain boss battles from NMH2[23]), Resistance to Empathic Manipulation (His emotions are shut off when he fights[15]) and Fire Manipulation (Can shrug off being set on fire[24][25])
Same as before plus Fear Manipulation, Transformation, Bodily Weaponry and Enhanced Senses (Cranberry Chocolate Sundae makes all enemies crawl/run in fear from Travis and lets him transform into a tiger, who should have the same senses as a normal one), Empowerment, Statistics Amplification and Weapon Control (As Travis gets pumped, his Ecstasy Gauge will grow, causing his attacks to become even more versatile and skillful, and preventing him from getting knocked down.[21] This energy also causes the Peony beam katana to grow, and he can expend this built-up energy to temporarily greatly boost his speed with Ecstasy/Super Mode), Chi Manipulation (Travis' Ecstasy Gauge is said to be his ki[26]), Stealth Mastery (Snuck into Cloe's prison to fight her,[27] passed right by Skelter Helter without the latter noticing[28]), Flight with his Shpeltiger (Shown here[29]), Purification (Able to heal from Cloe's poison off in the span of a few seconds[27]), Resistance to Paralysis Inducement (Able to break out of Cloe's body paralysis[27]), Madness Manipulation (Resisted the effects of Cloe Walsh's cries, which drive birds who hear it insane[27])
Same as before plus limited Flight and limited Toon Force (Floated in the air for a few seconds before finishing Jasper[20]), Resistance to Sleep Manipulation (Ignored the effects of Margaret Moonlight's song, which put Sylvia in a coma for a week when she heard it from far away[30])
Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Self-Sustenance (Type 1) and Flight (Flew to space to finish off Charlie), Large Size (Type 2, over 450 meters tall), Heat Manipulation, Energy Projection, Energy Manipulation, limited Electricity Manipulation and limited Explosion Manipulation for its Beam Katana (Though gigantic, the Glastonbury's blade seems to behave like a normal beam katana), Danmaku and Homing Attack (Blundam Missile fires a small swarm of homing beams), Explosion Manipulation and Radiation Manipulation (The Buster Blaster was shown to cause large, nuclear explosions[31])
Same as his NMH2 key minus Summoning (The Glastonbury has decayed and is now unusable[32]), plus Immortality (Type 3), Resurrection and Regeneration (Low-Godly over time. Thanks to his exposure to the Death Drive, Travis has been irradiated with his powers, which allow him to regenerate his body in another dimension as his consciousness travels to it, and when this process is done, he can return to his world, with this resurrection being shown in Travis Strikes Again[33] and No More Heroes III[34]), enhanced Vibration Manipulation (Can cause shockwaves by performing air-to-ground slams), Empowerment (Via leveling up. Furthermore, the more he kills, the more he does damage, eventually building up enough power for an AOE attack), Energy Manipulation (Can create energy constructs around his attacks), Reactive Power Level (His weapon's power will grow with multiple hits), Self-Sustenance (Type 1, Can breathe in space[33][35]), Teleportation (Can teleport back to his original position when falling into a pit), Electricity Manipulation (The Wing Chip shoots out a bolt of electricity that propagates through targets), Absorption (The Dendrobium Chip drains nearby characters’ stamina to fuel an attack), Thread Manipulation (The ∞ Justice Chip creates a wire around enemies and uses it to pull them toward the user), Duplication (The F91 Chip creates a doppelganger that can attract enemies), Energy Projection (The Strike Freedom Chip calls a guided laser from an orbiting satellite), Explosion Manipulation, Smoke Manipulation and Adhesive Manipulation (The Physalis Chip spreads gas that can be lit for an explosion, the Double X Chip creates an explosive trap and the Atlas Chip throws a sticky bomb), Weapon Creation (The Crossbone Chip summons skeletal turrets), Telekinesis (The Shining Chip binds enemies with telekinesis to toss them), Time Manipulation (The Heavy Chip slows down time in an area), Gravity Manipulation (The Self Chip pulls enemy towards the center of an area), Healing and Absorption (The ∀ Chip heals self and allies in an area and the Unicorn Chip sucks life from surrounding enemies), Invisibility via Ξ Chip, Forcefield Creation via Destroy Chip, Paralysis Inducement (The Psycho Chip briefly paralyzes targets while damaging them), Fusionism (The Travisman Formation Chip allows Travis to fuse with Badman to temporarily become Travisman), Resistance to Extreme Temperatures (Unaffected by the first stage's -20 degrees despite his relatively light clothing.[15] Can walk around the Moon, which reaches temperatures up to 127 C when lit by the sun[36]), Time Manipulation (Can move normally in Yojohan where time moves backwards[37]), Mind Manipulation (His clone was completely unaffected by the AI meant to control him[38]), Life, Biological, Soul and Darkness Manipulation (Can survive exposure to the demon world's darkness,[39] which tears away the lives of man while eating their flesh and consumes their souls[40][41]) and Biological Manipulation (Can resist the extreme stress inflicted by the Death Drive, which would normally cause brain damage.[38] While no other human before him had ever completed more than one game on the Death Drive, Travis beat seven without any apparent side effects)
Avatar Creation (Travis' self within the DDMk-II is only a videogame avatar), Resurrection and Time Manipulation (Only within the Death Drive Mk II, Travis can load a save file upon death, as it is just a videogame to him. Travis can save on toilets, then quit and load to resume from that point. Furthermore, he is equipped with two lives he can use to resurrect on the spot), Statistics Reduction and Statistics Amplification (By changing the game's difficulty, an option that is canonically at his disposal[15])
Information Analysis, Statistics Amplification, Mind Manipulation and Cloning (Able to scan an individual's DNA and create clones stronger than the original and brainwashed by an AI[38]), limited Empathic Manipulation and Biological Manipulation (Causes extreme stress and fear in the mind of the player, often leading to brain damage[38]), Wish-Granting (The Death drive MK-II can grant people's wishes)
Precognition (Can sense incoming attacks, as indicated by a spark near his head. Sylvia mentioned Travis having a "sixth sense".[12] Could sense that Henry was about to arrive[42]), Social Influencing (Easily angered FU, successfully getting him upset to the point at which he lost control), Enhanced Vehicular Mastery (Travis can now not only skillfully pilot his own mech armor and its varieties, but even a mech of a completely different kind he had never piloted before, using it to defeat a much bigger and stronger opponent.[32] Can make large jumps with his bike and fend off dozens of aggressive, giant crocodiles with a tank cannon [43] ), Summoning (Can summon a mech armor on himself. Is also able to summon various fantasy creatures,[13] although none of them were available for his fight against Sonic Juice), Weapon Control (Travis' beam katana can transform between different forms mid-combat), Dimensional Storage (Can store his cat Jeane in his Death Glove[44]), Teleportation (Can teleport while delivering a powerful dropkick with Death Kick. His motorbike, the Demzamtiger, is also able to teleport, which he can use to teleport it close to himself or to rapidly travel between areas), Gravity Manipulation and Telekinesis (Travis will sometimes shout "Anti-Gravity Death Force!" while using Death Force), Healing, Resurrection and Statistics Amplification with Sushi (With the take-out sushi Travis has access to, can replenish his own health with Maguro, his Beam Katana power with Kappa-Maki, increase his Tension with Tamago, temporarily increase his attack power with Ikura, partially replenish the cooldown on his Death Skills with Ebi and improve his Slash Reel chances with Futomaki. Travis can also heal with some Herbs he carries[13]), Statistics Amplification and Statistics Reduction (Can equip up to three Chips on the Death Glove that change his statistics, and use World's End Super Nova to increase his statistics or acquire new skills in his lab. Can likely increase his Lifting Strength with Throw-Crazy Mode. Can greatly increase his speed with Mustang Mode), limited Reactive Power Level (Many of Travis' Death Glove chips have beneficial effects that activate on low health or when getting up after being knocked to the ground), Absorption (Can drain enemy health with every attack with the Xenon Chip), Energy Projection (Can fire blade beams with the Legend Chip), limited Existence Erasure (Travis has access to the Majestic Helmet, an item that is able to eliminate 2/3 of any kind of food from Earth. However, he can only use it once[45] ), Invulnerability (Can temporarily become invulnerable with Invincible Mode), Afterimage Creation (Can create afterimages with Mustang Mode), Time Manipulation (Has free access to the Time Machine in Dr. Naomi's lab. Can also slow down time in an area with Death Slow), Danmaku and Energy Projection (Can cover an area with a ring that rapidly fires bullets at the enemy with Death Rain), Information Analysis (Could tell the strength of a foe just from their shape.[46] Could recognize a highly advanced illusion just through his knowledge of special effects[47]), Enhanced Instinctive Reaction (Said to have an unmatched killer instinct.[11] His instincts are so strong they could realize Native Dancer was Travis' grandson and acted accordingly, not only preventing Travis from killing him, but even causing him to help him.[11] Sylvia mentions Travis having a "sixth sense"[12]), Electricity Manipulation and Damage Boost (Can make his next Beam Katana inflict more damage with a lightning spell[13]), Statistics Amplification and likely Regeneration Negation (Mid. Entered a powered-up, glowing state that increased his strength to the point that he could snap FU's neck with a punch, and FU was unable to regenerate it[48]), Information Analysis and Extrasensory Perception (Dr. Juvenile's AI, stored within Travis' Death Glove can analyze materials on the atomic level and scan through the entire galaxy.[44] She could even sense anormal activity from another dimension[32]), Resistance to Temperature Manipulation (Faster than Fullface enemies, who would freeze their own faces off if they were to attack at light speed without their equipment[49])
Temperature Manipulation (Full Armor's rocket jets can be used to cut through things like a beam katana), Flight and Spaceflight for default and Bougainvillea (Travis' Full Armor can fly even in space, although the Bougainvellea moda is better for space combat. It is designed for impeccable mobility in space according to Master Gida. It can not only easily leave Earth's orbit in a small amount of time and easily maneuver in space, but also use its rocket boosters for increased mobility), Pseudo-Flight for Full Green Mode (Can still hover above the ground and slowly float down in mid-air)
Explosion Manipulation, Danmaku and Homing Attack (Base and Full Green Mode can fire a barrage of missiles called Multi-Missile), Information Analysis (Travis' armor automatically scans for weak spots to fire at), Energy Projection and Teleportation for Full Green Mode (Tiger Attack sees Travis teleporting to his enemy while materializing a giant tiger made of energy), Energy Projection with Multilasers and Megadeath Particle Cannon for Bougainvillea Mode, Danmaku and Homing Attack with Multilasers for Bougainvillea Mode, Resistance to Absolute Zero (Can withstand attacks from Ice Shaver, which are -273.5°C, slightly colder than Absolute Zero)Flight, Large Size (Type 0. Arsenals are 5 to 6 meters tall), Energy Manipulation, Statistics Amplification and Statistics Reduction (Arsenals are powered by the highly versatile Femto particles, which allow them to shift its power levels on the spot, being able to activate three different "stances", the speedy Wing Shift, the defensive Shield Shift and the offensive Assault Shift.[50] Travis was shown boosting the Arsenal's strength to a drastic extent[32]), Damage Reduction (Arsenal armor directs the damage it receives through its plates, lessening penetration from enemy weapons, and reduces energy flow, weakening energy beams[50]), Duplication and Matter Manipulation (By activating Mirage Bullet, an Arsenal can condense atoms into a perfect double of itself that fights alongside them[50]), Empowerment and Awakened Power (Golden Mirage Bullet can only be activated when below 30% health[50]), Information Analysis (Arsenals are capable of automatically "locking on" to enemies), Weapon Creation (Could materialize a blade weapon in its arm[32])

- Blood Berry: Travis' starting beam katana in No More Heroes, obtained through an online auction. In No More Heroes III, it's been modified to smoothly transform between various forms to suit Travis' needs, being able to shift between its default form and ones resembling the Tsubaki Mk II and the Peony beam katanas mid-combo without slowing down Travis' attacks in the slightest.
- Accelerator: A device attached to beam katanas that senses buried objects.
- Tsubaki: The first in a series of beam katanas developed by Dr. Naomi. Not only are they all more powerful than the Blood Berry, but they are each further amped by extra devices that increase their power and battery.
- Tsubaki Mk II: A beam katana with four additional blades outfitted around the central one.
- Tsubaki Mk III: The final Tsubaki model, cannot run out of energy and resembles an actual katana.
- Camelia Mk-III: A NMH 2 weapon similar to the Tsubaki Mk III, though without its infinite battery.
- Peony: A huge beam katana whose length grows with Travis' ki (his Ecstasy Gauge), up to a length of several meters. Dr. Naomi's ultimate invention in NMH2.
- Rose Nasty: A duo of custom beam katanas Travis obtains halfway through NMH2. Relatively weak, but fast.
- Schpeltiger: Travis' custom motorbike. Huge, powerful and sturdy. After its destruction at the end of No More Heroes 1, Travis sports an updated model in No More Heroes 2 called the "Next-Gen Schpeltiger", and in Travis Strikes Again he has a new one called the Schpeltiger Mk. III
- Dem Zam Tiger: Travis' new motorbike in No More Heroes III, armed with a recharging nitro boost, retractable beam katana blades in its sides and a teleport function.
- Glastonbury: A huge mech built by Dr. Naomi between the events of No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2, used to fight the Santa Death Parade and then promptly confiscated by the UAA. While Travis would have been able to summon it again anyway, it decayed to the point of being unusable by Travis Strikes Again/No More Heroes III.
- Full Armor: A mech suit that Travis is able to summon on himself at any point, built before the events of No More Heroes III. Comes with two secondary modes, Bougainvillea Mode for space combat, and Full Green Mode for grounded combat.
- Death Drive Mk. II: A supernatural game console with the ability to make wishes come true that Travis obtains in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes. Secretly a CIA experiment to try and create super-soldiers.
- Death Glove: The controller through which the Death Drive Mk II can be used, though it can also be used in the real world. Can be outfitted with up to four chips that gift its user with a special attack, although they have recharge times. It was slightly modified in No More Heroes III, with an ability to equip chips with passive effects.
- Optional Equipment: Majestic Helmet: Obtained in No More Heroes III. A mysterious helmet that is able to erase 2/3 of any kind of food from Earth. However, he can only use it once.
Intelligence: Gifted (Travis Touchdown's abilities are legendary in the world of No More Heroes, having become the strongest assassin in America twice in the span of a few years despite, by the beginning of the game, his skills mostly coming from pro wrestling training and his only knowledge of sword fighting coming from online correspondences and self-training,[14] though even then his work as an assassin was barely a challenge to him.[63] He has defeated assassins with decades of experience and prodigies able to learn moves that'd normally take several years in one day, or geniuses able to create incredibly complex battle suits or supernatural game consoles, and received training from various other combat masters such as the legendary Yakuza hitman Thunder Ryu and the drunken master Randall Lovikov. Can complete various assassination gigs which required him to defeat several enemies at once, often under a time limit or heavy limitations to his abilities (Such as being forbidden from using his weapons, or dying in a single hit), including Death Match 100, which pits him up against a hundred enemies at once. His skill and experience only grow throughout the years. Furthermore, he's able to rapidly pick up various new jobs, is an Unreal Tournament world champion,[10] great at bowling[64] and can make for a decent detective as seen in Travis Strikes Again's Coffee and Doughnuts. By Travis Strikes Again, Travis' defense is so good that even fighters better than him cannot get past his guard at all, and he will manage to pre-emptively counter their attacks the second they drop theirs.[64] In No More Heroes III, Travis is a much more intelligent and clever fighter, able to defeat most of FU's Galactic Superheroes, some of the most elite fighters in the entire galaxy, even when they had the advantage of having his strategic and behavioral patterns to analyze.[35] Realized Gold Joe had magnetic powers because of his color scheme[47] . Could use Native Dancer's attack against him, grabbing his hand mid-punch and suplexing him using his momentum.[11] He defeated Velvet Chair Girl in a game of musical chairs, which she was an intergalactic champion of.[12] His skill has grown to such a level that he is able to fight multiple Destroymen at once, up to almost twenty,[62] while he struggled with just one back in the first No More Heroes. Was able to use FU's anger against him, rapidly getting him more and more upset until he lost control. Could tell the strength of a foe just from their shape. Could recognize a highly advanced illusion just through his knowledge of special effects[47])
Standard Tactics: Travis has a tendency to kill his enemies as effectively as he can with a Death Blow, usually beheading or bisecting them. If facing an opponent with regenerative abilities or resilient immortality, he will instead cut them up into pieces to make sure they'll stay dead,[27] to the point of completely destroying their bodies if necessary.[42]
Weaknesses: Was originally very overconfident. Could be fooled quite easily and was unwilling to kill women, although he mostly grew past all of this before the end of the first game. Usually unwilling to kill younger and inexperienced opponents,[65] although he's fine with maiming them.[8] Travis's beam katanas also often need to be recharged with a vigorous thrusting motion, with the exception of the Tsubaki Mk-III. Travis' beam katanas short-circuit when exposed to water, electrocuting him.[8] However, this weakness is gone by No More Heroes III, where Travis is able to withstand Sonic Juice's water attacks without issue.[13] His abilities exclusive to within the Death Drive are reliant on him being in a video game, albeit a supernatural one, and thus they cannot be replicated in real life, and his Death Glove skills all have a cooldown time.
Notable Attacks & Techniques:
- No More Heroes
- Slashing Stance: Travis can alter between a low and high attack stance to attack past the guard of foes, and perform different kinds of charged attack.
- Death Blow/Killer Slash: Travis finishes a combo with a lethal blow that bisects or decapitates the target.
- Double Slash: An even more powerful and wider-reaching attack,[21] introduced in No More Heroes 2.
- Charge Attack: By holding his beam katana in position for a second or two and gathering power within it will begin emanating electric sparks. A charged beam katana swing will have longer range and be more powerful. A high-stance charge attack sends Travis slashing forward while a low-stance one is a wide-reaching horizontal slash.
- Dark Step/Perfect Dodge: If he dodges at the right time, Travis can briefly slow down time, to the point that his opponents appear almost frozen as he counterattacks. He also dives out of the enemy's field of vision so fast that they're left confused as to where he went, unable to follow him.[6]
- Mustang Dodge: In No More Heroes 3, if Travis executes a Perfect Dodge at full health, he will also temporarily activate Mustang Mode, greatly boosting his own speed as he also slows down time.
- Dark Side Mode/Slash Reel: A series of super modes that Travis enters after matching three slot icons following up a successful deathblow. The name of each mode he goes in are named after the signature moves (except Cherry) of each character of the fictional anime Pure White Lover Bizarre Jelly. This changes in No More Heroes III, where they have more straight-forward names.
- Strawberry on the Shortcake: After matching three grasshopper icons, Travis's hair glows bright yellow (Only in NMH1) and his beam katana glows brighter. In NMH1, any attack will lead to a Death Blow, while in NMH2, it will also slow down time and let him move faster.
- Blueberry Cheese Brownie: After matching three bell icons, Travis can shoot fireballs from his beam katana to annihilate foes. Travis also becomes faster.
- Cranberry Chocolate Sundae: After matching three BAR icons, Travis will only walk in this trance but he will also become more brutal in this state, instantly killing any target he seeks as they are paralyzed in place by fear. In NMH2, Travis will transform into a tiger while using this.
- Anarchy in the Galaxy: By matching three 7's in the slot, Travis unleashes a hot pink energy wave that destroys all enemies near him.
- Cherry: After matching three Cherry icons, any enemies nearby will slow down making it easier for Travis, who now moves fast enough to blitz them,[6] to kill them.
- Memory of Three: This technique allows Travis to sense the presence of all his enemies within a radius, displaying their position on the mini-map.
- Memory of Demon/Dash Attack: A jumping slash meant to knock enemies on their back, exposing them to a finishing blow.
- Memory of Child: Allows Travis to run at incredible speed in brief bursts.
- Memory of Woman: Extends the duration of his Dark Side Mode abilities.
- Memory of Mask: Extends the range of Travis' grab attacks.
- Memory of Tattoo: Allows Travis to earn more money on ranking missions. Useless in combat.
- Memory of White: Gifts Travis with a long-range Jump Down Attack, allowing him to finish off downed enemies from afar.
- No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
- Gooseberry Sugary Donut: By matching three 7s, Travis performs a spin attack and emanates a huge explosion.
- Ecstasy Gauge/Tension Gauge: A tiger-themed gauge that measures Travis' excitement during combat, and according to No More Heroes III, his ki as well- as it grows, Travis' attacks get stronger, faster and more elaborate, he can dodge out of them or finish them with a wrestling move, and he becomes unable to get knocked down.[21]
- Ecstasy Mode/Super Mode: By expending the Ecstasy Gauge, Travis can temporarily greatly increase his speed.
- Throw-Crazy Mode: New to No More Heroes III. Travis' hands are surrounded by a fiery aura and he is able to easily throw enemies without needing to stun them for a short while.
- Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes (All of these techniques are reliant on special t-shirts Travis can wear, and are therefore mutually exclusive)
- Spin Attack: After charging energy into his Katana, Travis does a 360° spin attack that deals greater damage and has longer reach than his normal Katana strikes.
- Hurricane Spin: An improved version of the normal Spin Attack and is performed similarly by Travis charging his Beam Katana. However, the Hurricane Spin, when used, unleashes a huge spin attack that lasts many rounds, allowing it to deal far more consecutive hits of damage.
- Down Thrust: Travis jumps high into the air while holding his sword downward, stabbing it into the ground and releasing a shockwave that damages and stuns foes within its radius.
- No More Heroes III
- Invincible Mode: Travis is surrounded by a white aura that makes him completely impervious to damage for a while.
- Mustang Mode: Travis temporarily gains the ability to attack fast he causes afterimages, and seem like he is teleporting to enemies when running up to them.
- Long Dash: After a dodge roll, Travis can use that momentum for a longer dodge maneuver by bouncing off the ground with a handstand.
- Blast Attack: Travis executes a high-speed flurry of thrust attacks.

- German Suplex: Travis moves behind the opponent and lifts them from the waist and falls backwards to slam the opponent's head against the ground.
- Belly-to-Belly Suplex: Travis wraps his arms around the opponent's body and shifts backwards while turning, slamming them into the ground.
- Trap Suplex: Travis locks the opponent's arms from above and delivers a belly-to-belly throw.
- Double Wrist Suplex: Travis grabs his opponent's wrists, slings them over his shoulder and suplexes them.
- Tiger Suplex: Travis hooks both his opponent's arms from the side, placing his arms against their back, then performs a suplex.
- Hurricanrana: Travis wraps his legs around the opponent's legs and performs an acrobatic takedown.
- Powerbomb: Travis lifts the opponent upside-down and slams them back onto the ground head-first.
