Summary
Time Travel is the ability to travel to different points in the past or future. While not directly damaging, time travel can be used to defeat one’s opponent while they are weaker or more vulnerable. Alternatively, some users can exploit paradoxes such as the grandfather paradox to erase foes from existence.
In a fight between characters of various franchises, time travelers should usually be assumed to able to travel into the past of either franchise for the sake of verse equalization. How that works in detail should, if necessary, be debated in respective threads and decided by the thread creator. It should be done in a fair fashion that allows the time traveler to use their ability as usual (e.g. for preparation or to cause time paradoxes) without giving them advantages that they would not have when the ability were to be used in their own franchise.
Limitations
- May be unable to travel to different points in space, and instead remain in the same spot but in different time periods, which may possibly result in telefrag.
- Users may require a specific device or ability, and thus the user may be rendered unable to time travel if they somehow lose said method.
- Certain verses have rules against how the user may change the past, and changing the past may be fruitless in a deterministic universe.
- User may not have enough information about their opponents to find them in the past and defeat them in a more vulnerable state.
- It is possible that the past version of the person that the user targets is protected by other entities who will fight back against the user if needed.
