Please report any rule violations in this thread. Notifying us of such incidences is highly appreciated.
Additionally, kindly report any sockpuppets that you come across.
Only report violations regarding the wiki rules. False reports due to personal vendettas are unacceptable.
Also, this thread should be for reporting actual rule-breaking, not every single little disagreement.
In cases of extreme vandalism or trolling, you can report the accounts at the VSTF wiki.
If blocked members create sockpuppet accounts to circumvent their block repetitively, or several are created at almost the same time, you may contact the Wikia Staff, to politely request permanent IP blocks.
Note: All staff members, kindly follow, and bookmark, this thread.
You can also find specific users with the Search Function by typing with the format: "User:Username"
Well, he has not seemed to have been trolling, vandalised, or made offensive comments. It is hard to ban somebody who has just made mostly harmless posts in a versus thread. However, if other staff members disagree, feel free to proceed.
I think Meosos's main reason for reporting him is that he seems to be a sockpuppet of I don't care I luv it, due to the fact that he showed up mere moments after the latter voted and bears many similarities to him, and the fact that Madara VS Magneto is the only thread 'Newusername9000' has commented on since he joined the wiki. I dunno if that alone is enough to warrant a ban, but if the two are indeed the same person, it more or less means he was stacking the votes in favor of the character he likes more.
There's actually another one in that thread who seems like he may be the same person as well, and in this case, he and 'I dont care' also showed up in this thread to vote for the same character, with the latter even going as far as to vote 'for connects reasons'.
EDIT: There's also the bit I mentioned above about how Newusername9000 stopped commenting completely once he was accused of being an alternate profile.
To add to the above, this is from FC/OC VS Battles:
"02:34, September 7, 2017 CrossverseCrisis (wall | contribs) blocked Newestfighter (wall | contribs) with an expiry time of infinite (cannot edit own talk page) (Abusing multiple accounts: Possible sock of a user who asked me a similar question along with having similar grammar)"
I'd give him another chance, however if he makes another spite / stomp thread I'd suggest banning him right then and there. I just left a message on his wall about this to see if he'll actually take everyone's advice and stop creating stomp threads.
They are not sockpuppets. Lucky just disabled his account because he wanted to get a new username, but already changed his. In fact, I'm pretty sure he specifically told Ant about it some long time ago.
Might add that he is still making profiles with the same format that Flo already told us about + some weird justifications for his current profile (Anglerfish is Wall level because it can attract it's prey).
Yeah, plagiarism does suck, but cant really stop him from doing that, it doesn't break any rules here and if it's his own wiki we can't do anything, unless there's some overall rule about stealing from other wiki's in general.
It sucks but at least he didn't vandalize it change anything here and opted to make his own.
I don't believe plagiarism is against Wikia rules, as someone who has talked with Staff about other wikis stealing our formats. Credit is necessary, IIRC, but he's not doing anything wrong in itself. If he starts trouble, he'll be blocked.
Their wikis won't get anywhere. Most of them are still standing but completely inactive. The same will ultimately happen here. We don't need to do anything, ignore it and move on and stop clogging this thread.
You're allowed not to like someone, as long as he doesnt start a fight and doesn't insult anyone he can have his highly suspect opinions.
False reports due to personal vendettas aren't allowed.
Anyway this has derailed, cluttered and strayed from the threads main purpose.
If he breaks a rule or demeans anyone then go right ahead, untill then let's keep this thread for things that is explicitly not ok.
On second thought, his wiki only seems to have 2 pages. That is probably not important enough to warrant an intervention. We usually perform them with copycat wikis that have at least a few hundred pages.
It shouldn't be bothered with atm if you ask me. Likely they'll abandon it like everyone else did when they tried to do something similar. I've seen it happen on multiple platforms. I do remember some of them being deleted for them "being made out of spite/block" though, and one of them was pretty recent.
By the sound of it, @BattleReviews is complaining to the staff for banning a couple users abusing sock puppets. That does sound like a rule violation IMO; disrespect to the staff seems very intolerable.
This guy came on chat for this. The text I censored is slurs. He may be a sock of DJTip, a troll that's hit the Death Battle Wiki and DBF for a while and it can be supported by the fact that I go on Death Battle Wiki and I was one of DJTip's targets.
I'm sorry but I dislike this idea that regular members aren't worth commenting on threads and do nothing but inconvenience us staff. The staff isn't perfect and if a punishment is seen as unjust people should feel comfortable about speaking their mind about it. If we want to continue growing we can't alienate those we want to appeal to and make it seem like we don't care what they have to say. Allowing a little bit of extra input isn't going to horribly derail this thread or handicap the rule enforcing process.
@Ant No worries I understand. Not trying to sound harsh I just want to make sure regular users aren't scared to express their opinion, especially on a matter such as potential mistreatment from the staff. We can go back to the main topic of the thread.
I'm still not sure but I had a hunch that this guy and this are the same person. They both has the same avatar pic and both of them are seen in this thread. I'm not saying the staff should ban them, but I think it would be wise to keep an eye on them until I or the other staff members got more proofs. They looks suspicious.
Same default Wikia avatar, still comments on the same topics, still wanks Pennywise to the point of needing a censor bar, still thinks 'x because they have the better advantages' is valid reasoning, etc etc.
Original profile is still banned. This one should be too.
This user after joining the wiki immediately came to my message wall and wrote something weird on it. I may just be paranoid or he might be a troll but I wasnt sure so I wanted to bring it here just in case
Is your wiki username the same for different websites? I'd suggest changing your username so people can't locate you from different websites.
No it isnt. I dont even know what hes talking about I dont make videos or participate in other sights other than this one. I dont at all know what he's refering to in his message. And sadly I already changed my user name to what it is now and you can only change it once.
The usernames sound like they're openly using two accounts and they weren't blocked and didn't seem to be causing much trouble. In addition, given how long it had been since the first account last edited it's probable that he just forgot his password or something.
Again, my apologies if I'm not allowed to give say in this.
since he also claimed the exact same thing with 5D Madoka/Homura etc etc in a number of threads and used socks here http://vsbattles.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:1021681 while making the exact same kind of claims and outright disrespectful tone to people for no reason.
I mean technically speaking, nothing is wrong with the name.
It's an actual word, the usage of it is used outsude of hentai and it's not exclusive to it. And even then ya gotta know what it is to take offense and ant didn't even know what the potentially offensive meaning meant, he had to look it up and the people who do know probably won't take offense anyway and even then technically it's not a bad word.
Basically, at worse it's mild but nothing to really bother over.
This honestly a complete non-issue, unless the name is truly such an egregious thing I see no problem allowing the user to keep it; and if some one truly feels offended by such a thing, let them be happy that he didn't name himself The Heavy Gasser, Home of the Burnt Semite.
Nope, he ignored the rules, made a CRT about Sonic and when i told him that his claims werent correct he went on a multi-wikia spanning harassment spree claiming i "used my power as an admin to lock threads and manipulate thread histories because im corrupt"
Sponni is a sockpuppet of JasonJackson730. All that both "users" have done and nothing else is immediately coming onto my mssg wall to ask me to show them some videos when I have literally no idea what they're talking about as I dont do anything like that at all.
Behavior, typing style and thread history are consistent with both his original account and his Hitman987 account , and also happens to have appeared right after the latter was banned. Has also been on a spree of repying on threads just to say variants of 'Pennywise wins' with no reasoning attached.
Requesting that his account be banned with the rest. Also suggest we ask Wikia for an IP block, since he's obviously just going to come back under another name once he gets blocked again.
This User appears to be trolling on this thread. He initially used a NLF for one character and completely ignored the feats/canon lore of the other. After dissing what multiple members; including some facts spoken by an Admin, He responded, "Believe what you will, I am done here."
I wouldn't call it ban worthy offence, but a warning seems reasonable.
This guy is a sockpuppet of this guy. He's been using the sock to bump every Minecraft Steve-related thread he can find and it's starting to clog the Forum Activity section.
What's especially weird is that he seems to have posted a screencap on his sock account that serves as cold, hard proof of this. (It also shows a Facebook window in there which kind of speaks for itself) For whatever reason, I don't know whether to find that hilarious or unsettling.
Either way, this seems like a fairly straightforward case.
Actually, wait. I just read his profile. The sock is (allegedly) a failsafe or something. He made it because his Facebook is being weird and it keeps preventing him from using his main account on the wiki. (The two are linked)
Most likely my fault for not seeing that. I still think he should get a warning about the bump-spam, but he probably doesn't deserve to be banned. Yet.
The second account was made because she wanted to change her name and use her own email (I know this user personally) and already made the account before I was able to tell her that she could change those things
Again, this is not a sock to avoid a ban, just a second account made out of personal preference, and the original account can be blocked as she will not be using it anymore
Although, I will leave a message on her wall later asking which account she'd rather use and notify her personally, although she won't be on for a while if at all today or tomorrow
