In the wake of the DMC Universe level Mundus statement, Dragonmasterxyz asked and was told by Hideki Kamiya that Jubileus could have destroyed the universe without using the Eyes of the World (See here).

      Loading editor
    • He said "could be" which is a very vague answer IMO, I'm not to sure if I can support this yet

        Loading editor
    • Then it would just be "Possibly 3-A"

        Loading editor
    • "Could be..." I'm pretty sure than the creator can said something better than that... anyway, when it said that he could destroy the universe, it is one shot the universe or destroy it eventually?

        Loading editor
    • "Jubileus will be resurrected, and a new universe will take hold!"

"Light, dark, and chaos between. Three realities once split shall be brought together to create a new universe in the image of the old."

"The time has come for Jubileus to return! At last, the Trinity of Realities will know their real ruler, and time will begin anew!"

"No one can control Jubileus now. Its power is too intense...Light, Dark, human. All the strife, all the struggle...The Trinities of Reality wrapped up in a vortex of creation!"

        Loading editor
    • mmm... those lines sound a much... theatrical (not sure if is the correct word); could means a pair of things, like just take the absolute control, to warp the entire universe; and I haven't played the game, but he has show those kind of power in a boss fight or in a video cut?

        Loading editor
    • Due to Jubileus being able to survive the Universe being torn apart, I guess possibly 3-A is alright due to not contradicting any feats Jubilues has.

        Loading editor
    • Not really on board with this one. "Could be" is not good enough, especially when he didn't even directly bring up anything universal himself.

        Loading editor
    • I am going to say something here.

Hideki Kamiya is a troll, and I really doubt he's thinking for more than 3 seconds when he answers these twitter questions.

I go with what is shown, not what is said, mostly.

        Loading editor
    • Bumping, need more input

        Loading editor
    • I think "probably 3-A" is fine

        Loading editor
    • Again, not on board with this. I mentioned before why the scaling would then make no sense, and it still applies here.

On top of this, this isn't even in the same league as the Mundus tweet. In the other, a question was asked if Mundus really created multiple stars, and Kamiya replied that it was a universe. Whether this is deemed acceptable or not, it is far more concrete than directly asking him if Jubileus is a universe buster and his response being equivalent to an uncaring shrug.

If I asked Toby Fox if Chara could destroy an infinite dimensional construct, and his response was "Maybe. Maybe not", that would not be deemed nearly enough to upgrade the character due to having no showings to support it, coupled with the overly direct nature of the question, and the author's own uncertainty/apathy.

        Loading editor
    • I agree with Azathoth and Matthew.

        Loading editor
    • Ok, i'm confused, why don't you think this is legitimate? Jubileus was already stated to be able to rewrite the universe multiple times, and Hideki just confirmed that she probably could. I get that he can be a troll sometimes, but if this you guys aren't even gonna consider this as a WoG statement of Jubileus being possibly 3-A then why is Mundus statement being accepted? Sorry if that came off as a bit rude i just don't understand and am a bit upset as to why one statement could be taken over another.

        Loading editor
    • Jubileus was stated to be able to rewrite the universe with the Eyes of the World, which is not her power, but the power of Aesir. Kamiya was directly asked if she could destroy the universe, and his response was a vague and uncaring "could be". This is not substantial enough, and is not comparable to the Mundus tweet, which even in that case I am still uncertain of, and it is being determined if it even scales to regular AP. Even the concrete statement in which the idea of a universe was strictly brought up by Kamiya and Kamiya alone is being evaluated and taken with a grain of salt.

        Loading editor
    • But, isn't the Mundus statement not accepted yet. People are asking if it counts as Direct AP or just via hax.

I find it odd that you try to use "Could be" as a way to upgrade Bayonetta, yet you disagree with the use of "Could be" for other characters. Sounds very fishy to me now tbh.

        Loading editor
    • Creating a universe through reality warping is different from flat out destroying a universe, or at least i thought Mundus used reality warping.

        Loading editor
    • That's not the point, the point is that you try to use WoG to upgrade a character yet you yourself have found the exact statement to be faulty and non trustworthy for another character. Sounds like cherry picking/hypocrisy.

        Loading editor
    • What Weekly is saying is that if that is accepted, this should be as well. If not than neither shouldn't be accepted. That's the gist of what he's saying...

        Loading editor
    • Both are different from eachother, this is a question which asks whether or not x character is Universal while the Mundus statement is just giving clarity as to what is being made within a cutscene.

        Loading editor
    • ugh the lack of notifications is killing me.. Anyway despite adding clarity it is just a WoG statement that's accepted. So we request "possibly 3-A" as an okay upgrade. Howeve, who know what will happen. I stated my disagreement on the other thread. Weekly made this thread more for fairness than anything else.

        Loading editor
    • based on what I see this won't be accepted. Weekly anything you might have to back up an upgrade?

        Loading editor
    • I had a whole thread dedicated to backing this upgrade a while ago...

        Loading editor
    • this really make me angry tbh. I guess you could call me a little butthurt.... I kinda find this unfair...

        Loading editor
    • This thread, and pretty much everyone agreed with it too. You and me both, honestly I still don't get it, if the Mundus statement was accepted (which it was) then this statement should be accepted as well, even if it's only a "Possibly 3-A" due to Hideki's wording.

        Loading editor
    • All I want is a "Possibly 3-A"...

        Loading editor
    • I'd be absolutely fine with that too, but by the look of things...

        Loading editor
    • not many are paying this any mind....

    • Well the "Could Be" is not very solid as seen by comments above. But the first thread should be viable.

        Loading editor
    • It's sad. 3-A Dante goes through pretty easily but 3-A Bayo has difficulty even being noticed.

I'm not exactly against "possibly", since the Verse had Universe feats even before.

    • Well at least it would be a fair fight that could be added to the profiles, that is, if this gets accepted...

        Loading editor
    • I hope it does...If so an equalized speed match will happen to decide the ultimate Kamiya badass.

        Loading editor
    • Equalized speed fights can't be added to profiles

        Loading editor
    • Since when?

        Loading editor
    • Yes they can. They have been for a while. But that's the only type of stat equalized fight that can be accepted.

      Only Aesir.

Who, to be fair, still curbs DMC via speed and hax.

    • Actually it seems like it applied to a previous version of Jubileus, but who lost her power. This tweet is just a semi-confirmation she still has that power.

Jubileus with the Eyes of the World, which is not her own power. It's Aesir's power.

Yup, only Speed equalized fights are allowed. Don't know why you thought that though, Alaka.

we still don't know the speed yet because of what Mundus did m8 but never mind that. The statement imho has a hint of vagueness making it have some doubts on its own. Though Aesir still is 3-A the scale between sheba and Jubelius with him are kind of doubtful

        Loading editor
    • @TISSG7Redgrave Which is why it should probably be "Possibly 3-A" instead of a definite 3-A

        Loading editor
    • hmmm possibly eh? I am kind of mixed here tbph

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, i agree the statement is just the slightest bit vague but it's still worth a Possibly, plus there are plenty of in-game statements that she's at this level as well, hell Balder even stated that his plan was to use Jubileus to literally rewrite the universe

    • @Antvasima Im very sorry if this sounds a bit rude, but what youre saying is you agree that the creator of Bayonetta saying that Jubileus may be able to destroy the universe should be disregarded because "he didn't seem serious"?

Yes Aesir was posessing Balder but Balder still had some free will and none of Aesir's power was transfered into Balder when he sealed Aesir's soul inside himself.

    • Well, "could be" does sound extremely noncommittal.

        Loading editor
    • And replying "Universe" to a question that wasn't even about a universe and without any exposition doesn't? And again, i'm not pushing for a solid 3-A, only a Possibly 3-A, i agree the wording is a bit vague but i don't think it should just be totally discredited.

        Loading editor
    • Well, I suppose that a "At least 5-A. Possibly 3-A", with a link to a screen-capture of the reply might be acceptable, but it depends on what Azathoth thinks.

        Loading editor
    • Again, I do not agree. The difference is absolutely massive, and I do not feel Kamiya not flat out disagreeing is enough evidence to justify the wonky scaling among other things.

I do not want it to become a trend for users to try and contact any developer/writer/creator they can in attempts to boost their favorite characters or verses, with any answer that isn't a straight "no" suddenly becoming usable for profiles and scaling to a bunch of characters I doubt the creator even had in mind.

No idea if this applies to the Dante thing, since again, it has been a very long time since I've played through DMC, but at least the universe thing was direct and brought up by Kamiya, which I cannot say applies here.
