| “ | Of course you will survive the virus...to do so would betray the bloodline. I will not yield my position to traitors. If I have to forfeit our time here...here on Earth...so be it. | „ |
Summary
Grand Regent Thragg is the main antagonist of the Image Comics series Invincible.
He is the most powerful Viltrumite and the ruler of the Viltrum Empire, having been trained from birth in all manners of combat to lead the Viltrumites in the aftermath of Emperor Argall's death. Tasked with finding Argall's heir, Thragg eventually abandoned his mission after the Scourge Virus nearly wiped out the entirety of the Viltrumite population, believing himself truly worthy of leading the Viltrum Empire. He is the archenemy of Invincible and his father Omni-Man, being the most powerful villain the two have ever fought.

Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics

- Martial Arts (Viltrumite culture is imperialistic and driven by a doctrine where only the strong should survive[1]. All world-conquering viltrumites would be put through auditions to test their skills[2] and later on train with veterans[3] to better their fighting style. In order to be made regent, Thragg was trained from birth and educated in all manners of combat[4], tempered to be the strongest viltrumite of all)
- Longevity (The older viltrumites get the slower they age, allowing them to live for thousands of years[2])
- Regeneration (High-Low, Low-Mid over time) and Immortality (Type 2 & 3; As long as the brain and heart remain mostly intact the viltrumite body will repair itself[5], healing from severe head trauma[6] and bone and organ damage[7]. Their physiology allows them to recover from physical damage at an extremely accelerated rate[1], enabling them in fights with injuries as severe as their guts spilling out[8][9], skin incinerated[10] or brain exposed[9])
- Adaptation (Viltrumite DNA aggressively self-repairs and adapts to maintain it's structure[1], ensuring it's own survival when combined with DNA from another species by gradually replacing it, and their individual molecules will perform their functions in extreme conditions)
- Resistance to Temperature Manipulation (Viltrumite atoms' ability to exchange energy with the background changes their temperature where needed, allowing normal bodily functions to continue even when the outside temperature is near absolute zero or as hot as the surface of a star[1]. In short bursts, they can withstand temperatures even hotter than the sun)
- Resistance to Gravity Manipulation (Viltrumites' atoms can ensure the molecules behave normally even under extreme forces and be forced to maintain their relative positions in the air[1], allowing them to operate in planets with a severe gravitational quotient[11] without issue)
- BFR (Can throw opponents to the depths of space[4])
- Enhanced Lung Capacity (Viltrumites can hold their breath for 2 weeks[12])
- Social Influencing (Instigating Fear & Coercion; Succesfully convinced Invincible and Omni-Man on a truce[13], threatening with his forces destroying the planet were they to retaliate, and Allen the Alien[14], mentioning that even if he were to be infected with the Scourge virus, he'd kill him and it'd ultimately accomplish nothing)
- Telepathy via thought receiver (Alien technology allows him to speak telepathically with others using equivalent technology in space[15])
Resistance to:
- Radiation Manipulation (Can travel through space without any ill effects)
- Electricity Manipulation (Comparable to Invincible, who can endure and power through electrical attacks[16])
Attack Potency: At least Small Planet level (Ripped Thaedus' head from his shoulders. Broke Oliver's arm in his grasp and punched his jaw apart with one blow. Successfully killed Battle Beast, even though the two's battle lasted for days. Easily overpowered Dinosaurus, smashing him through a moon base and cracking open his jaws. Far superior to Omni-Man, Anissa and Conquest, to a point where the latter actually fears him[Statistics Values 1]) | At least Small Planet level, likely far higher (One-shotted Rognarrs, who could previously rip him apart. Outmatched Allen's forces and was portrayed as being a threat to all of them despite having Post-Colossal Amplification Tech Jacket on his side[Statistics Values 2])
Speed: Massively FTL+ (Faster than Invincible and Omni-Man. Caught up to Mark when he was fleeing with stars blurring around them and reacted to Nolan rushing towards them at more than likely full speed to save his son. Can easily dodge Space Racer's infinity ray blasts, which can move fast enough to keep the pace with Mark, Nolan and Thaedus, with Nolan having to pull Mark for him to keep up despite Mark being able to outspeed the fastest spaceship CoP has[Statistics Values 3]) | Massively FTL+ (Superior to Post-Colossal Amplification Tech Jacket[Statistics Values 4])
Lifting Strength: At least Class Z (More powerful than Omni-Man and Middle of Series Invincible, overpowering both of them with a single arm.[4] Superior to Conquest and Anissa[Statistics Values 5]) | At least Class Z, likely far higher
Striking Strength: At least Small Planet level (Beat down Omni-Man, crushed Post-Resurrection Invincible's arm) | At least Small Planet level, likely far higher
Durability: At least Small Planet level (Withstood blows from Omni-Man. Tanked a bite from Dinosaurus, who was able to effortlessly one-shot Omnipotus) | At least Small Planet level, likely far higher (Survived fighting Invincible inside the sun for some minutes, with the fight already heavily taxing his Smart Atoms)
Stamina: Superhuman (Brutally fought Battle Beast for days before finally coming out victorious. Kept fighting after being dipped in the surface of the sun as well as having his body reduced to muscle and bone in his final fight with Invincible)
Range: Standard Melee Range
Standard Equipment: Thought receiver
Intelligence: Gifted generally, Genius in Combat (Led the Viltrum Empire for thousands of years and kept it's stranglehold on the galaxy even with their dwindling numbers. After his exile, he set in motion the Viltrumite universal conquest again all by himself after conquering Thraxa and producing rapid-aging offsprings to build a giant army from the ground up, as well as training them. In order to be made regent, Thragg was trained from birth and educated in all manners of combat. [4] Matched combat genius Battle Beast in a brutal fight that lasted days until eventually defeating him)
Weaknesses: The Smart Atoms of Viltrumites cannot withstand high temperatures for long periods of time, with prolonged exposure weakening their durability as the atomic bonds are ripped apart. Pinpoint high frequency sound waves can disrupt a Viltrumite's inner ears and highly sensitize equilibrium, disrupting their flight, causing intense pain or potentially death. The Scourge Virus is a specially engineered virus that infects Viltrumites and severely hampers their strength and invulnerability, usually resulting in death. The Klaxus Plant will poison and weaken the species.
