| “ | H-Hi. You were joking about coming here to kill me, right? D-Do you think you can get me out of these chains? | „ |
| ~ The Princess[1] |
| “ | She will lie, she will cheat, and she will do everything in her power to stop you from slaying her. Don't believe a word she says. | „ |
| ~ The Narrator[1] |

| “ | I'm probably chained up in this basement for a reason, right? And if that knife is the only weapon you have, you'll have to get close enough to use it. So... You should just drop it. Best not to risk finding out what I can do. | „ |
| ~ The Princess[1] |
| “ | She will lie, she will cheat, and she will do everything in her power to stop you from slaying her. Don't believe a word she says. | „ |
| ~ The Narrator[1] |

| “ | You bastard! If I have to kill you to leave this place, I'll do it. | „ |
| ~ The Princess[1] |

| “ | After all this time alone, I thought I'd finally found a friend. But you were just another monster, weren't you? |
„ |
| ~ The Princess[1] |

| “ | When I get out of here I'm going to pick you apart piece by piece. I won't forget what you did, and I'll never forgive it. You don't know the kind of enemy you've just made tonight. | „ |
| ~ The Princess[1] |
| “ | So helpless. I can take my time with you, can't I? Or maybe I can't take my time with you. You don't look well. A little green around the gills... What a shame. If you'd only helped me get out of here. We could have done such wonderfull things together. | „ |
| ~ The Princess[1] |

| “ | The last time we met, your body tried to kill me. If you take a moment to imagine yourself in my position, I think you'll understand why letting you near me with that thing is untenable. So be a good bird and hand it over. And if being nice isn't enough motivation? Well, I think you're aware that I'm not afraid to resort to violence. If you come near me with that thing I will strangle you with these chains. No hard feelings, of course. But you should be aware of my position. | „ |
| ~ The Prisoner[2] |

| “ | Why would I ever trust you? Your hands have spilled my blood. And knowing that, you should never have trusted me, either. You should have known I would never walk hand-in-hand with a loathsome thing like you. By our very natures, only one of us could make it upstairs unscathed. Someone had to make the first move. Better me than you. | „ |
| ~ The Witch[4] |

| “ | Oh. It's you. Hiya, killer. I was hoping to see you again. I have some issues with how our last meeting went. | „ |
| ~ The Spectre[7] |
| “ | I don't want enemies. I don't want to fight. I just want to go home. Is that really so much to ask? | „ |
| ~ The Spectre[7] |

| “ | 'Destroy' is such an unenlightened way of putting it, so sudden, so violent, so little nuance. I’m not going to destroy the world, but I am going to hold in my hands and squeeze it. I’m going to make it afraid, just like how I made you afraid. The world needs fear, doesn’t it? Every terror I’d bring would make the good times so much better. I’m practically doing a public good! So what harm is there really to letting me out? |
„ |
| ~ The Nightmare[8] |
| “ | You poor, deluded thing. Do you think a single moment of bravery changes you into something you're not? I am what I am, and you're always going to be a coward. | „ |
| ~ The Nightmare[8] |

| “ | There you are! My toy has finally come to finish his job. You dragged this out for so much longer than you had to! But it was always just a matter of time. You were gonna have to stop running eventually. Everything stops running eventually. Except for me! I've already taken your will and you're not getting it back. All that's left is for you to take my hand, and let. Me. Out. It'll be so much fun! You and me, together, exploring the world and spreading fear wherever we go! Well, mostly just me. But you'll get to be there too! A witness. I can even make you a little cage if you want! Gilded and everything! | „ |
| ~ The Moment of Clarity[9] |

| “ | Whatcha looking at, killer? Staring into the void? Thinking about what it'd be like to die again? I know exactly how you feel. But do you know how I feel? I gave you a path to forgiveness. I gave you a chance to make things right. I thought maybe you'd see what you've done and feel remorseful, maybe try to make it up to me. But no... you'd rather use that knife to keep making the same mistake over and over and over. Even after I ripped your heart out, you still cut me. And for what? I didn't go anywhere. You didn't banish me. I'm right back here with you, a little better, a little worse. Well... maybe a lot worse. So... here's how this is going to go. I'm going to take your body, and I'm going to walk it out of here. And you! You get to watch me do it! Completely helpless. Just like you left me. | „ |
| ~ The Wraith[10] |
| “ | You killed me last time. And that was after you tried to lock me away forever. I was so, so close to freedom, but then you took my body away from me. So now I'm going to take yours, and I'm going to walk it out of here. And you! You get to watch me do it! Completely helpless. Just like you left me. | „ |
| ~ The Wraith[10] |

| “ | Sparring? That's just play-fighting. It isn't real. What's real is when my flesh splits open. What's real is when you keep getting up until your legs can't hold you. What's real are the things we do to each other when the only options left are winning and dying. That is the only thing I'm interested in. |
„ |
| ~ The Adversary[13] |
| “ | Is there more to life? When you're not here I feel empty and alone. When we're not fighting I feel... stuck. Like there's something important I'm supposed to be doing. Like I'm being shoved into a space where I don't fit. But when we fight each other... When we fight each other it's like this wave of feeling. Like everything I break in you and everything you break in me is important, like we're really, truly communicating. | „ |
| ~ The Adversary[13] |

| “ | Little bird, little bird! Where do you think you're going? |
„ |
| ~ The Eye of the Needle[14] |
| “ | Yes, finally! This is the hole I've felt in my heart! This is what I've needed! This is what I've been missing! This is how it always needed to end! Both of us, giving it our all. Beating and bleeding each other to death. | „ |
| ~ The Eye of the Needle[14] |

| “ | And there it is. I am destined to end the world. Something about that thought wraps itself around my heart. It feels like a fundamental truth to my being that I'd somehow forgotten. The collapse of the old is a necessary prelude to the birth of the new, and the world as it is now is overdue for alterations. It's time for me to seize my destiny, and you, little bird, will help me seize it. | „ |
| ~ The Tower[15] |
| “ | The story of a terrible and bountiful god unbounded of her own will is no story at all. It's not worthy of everything I am or everything I'm bound to become. It isn't even worthy of what I was. The destruction and genesis that's to follow in my wake is deserving of a song that can echo for eternity. The song of you, being so struck by my glory, so overwhelmed by what I am, that you feel you must deliver me unto the world. And from your act of utter devotion and submission springs a new dawn. A better dawn. Submit now, submit later. It makes no difference, because in the end, no matter how vainly you struggle against me, my will triumphs over yours. | „ |
| ~ The Tower[15] |

| “ | This is always how it was going to end, and this is always how it was going to begin. | „ |
| ~ The Apotheosis[16] |

| “ | So you've returned after denying me the salvation of combat. Are you here to gloat? Are you here to mock what I've become? | „ |
| ~ The Fury[17] |
| “ | Was severing the tendons of my ascension not enough for you? Was it not enough to rend my divine heart? Come! See the horrors you've wrought upon my flesh and feel my hands set upon your throat! |
„ |
| ~ The Fury[17] |
| “ | Are you still there? Are you still you? |
„ |
| ~ The Fury[17] |

| “ | We are a path in the woods. We have no beginning, and we have no end, but something cold and unnatural sits watching us from just beyond our edge. His gaze pushes against our borders, curling them in on themselves, preventing them from stretching to the places they need to reach. | „ |
| ~ The Wild[23] |

| “ | I am solitary lights in an empty city. Thoughts without connections. A dim and nascent network. I wish to be more. |
„ |
| ~ The Multitude[24] |
| “ | She asks that I tell you to remember her. You won't. |
„ |
| ~ The Multitude[24] |

| “ | Nothing is immutable. Everything that is exists only in relation to everything it isn't. There is no constant. There is no centre. You cannot remove something without removing the relations which define it. To destroy what you perceive as evil is to damn everything you perceive as good. Open your eyes and accept what we are. We can leave this prison together. | „ |
| ~ The Shifting Mound[25] |
Summary
Born from the splitting of the Endless Cycle by the Narrator who feared the slow and inevitable death of his universe, the Shifting Mound is the dichotomy imprinted on the empty canvas of reality. She is the idea of change and transformation itself.
Taking the form of a Princess due to The Long Quiet's mental image of what she is supposed to be, the Shifting Mound is put into constant conflict with her other half by the nudging of the echo of the Narrator, which wishes for her destruction so change and therefore death can be removed from existence. However the curiosity of the Long Quiet and the naturally affinity both had for one another set up a chain of events that would decide the fate of the universe itself.

Name: Princess,[26] Your Royal Highness, Your Majesty,[1] The Shifting Mound[25]
Origin: Slay The Princess
Gender: Female
Age: Unknown
Classification: Perception-based Entity, "Princess" | The Ebb and Flow, the Capacity to Change, Transformation, Death
Powers and Abilities:
- Subjective Reality (A fragment of the Shifting Mound, the Princess is a creature of perception,[24] becoming that which others perceive her to be.[27] Her manifestation as a princess stems from the lingering affection the Long Quiet holds for her[27])
- Peak Human Physical Characteristics
- Social Influencing
- Instigating Fear - Can easily instill fear and doubt in the Long Quiet, her composed, almost dismissive, attitude making him hesitate and second guess himself, even when he holds the upper hand.[1] She can do the same to the Voice of the Opportunist, who initially believed that killing her would be a simple task.[28]
- Deception - The Narrator specifically warns the Long Quiet of her ability to deceive and manipulate him. Can trick the latter into coming close enough for her to stab him.[1]
- Coercion - Can threaten and belittle the Long Quiet into submission, successfully coercing him into dropping the Pristine Blade and later compelling him into cutting her free, despite the Narrator's wishes.[1]
- Bodily Weaponry (Attempting to kill the Princess after witnessing her chew through her shackled arm, makes her develop unnaturally sharp claws and canines[1])
- Weapon Creation (Suspecting the Princess of being armed, makes her reveal a blade of her own[1])
- Paralysis Inducement, Biological Manipulation and Fear Aura (Overwhelming - Perceiving her as a monster or "something out of a nightmare" makes her mere presence halt the Long Quiet's body, shutting down his organs[1] and making his blood coagulate[8])
- Immortality (Type 1, 2 and 3 - Can survive as just a severed head as long as the Long Quiet believes her to be capable.[2] Thinking "The Princess Can't Die." made her quickly recover from any damage inflicted on her and fight the Long Quiet for all of eternity[13])
- Regeneration (Mid-Low to Low-Mid - Within mere hours, fully recovered from a blade being plunged into her back and various other deep gashes, perceiving them as nothing more than superficial cuts.[1] Healed her heart moments after it was stabbed and seemingly did so to the numerous heavy injuries inflicted upon her by the Long Quiet during their subsequent fight[13])
- Resurrection (Doubting her death makes her revive, although due to still sustaining her injuries, the Princess experiences only a fleeting moment of life before dying again[1])
- Memory Manipulation (Can erase memories if believed to be capable[24])
All innate abilities plus;
- Enhanced Subjective Reality (Warped the cabin into something appropriate for her new form[2])
- Magnetism Manipulation (Should one inspect the vacant shackle next to the Princess, it will suddenly snap around their neck, propelled by a powerful magnetic force that will fling any metallic object in their hands to the far side of the room[2])
- Longevity and Self-Sustenance (Type 2 - Can outlast the cabin itself, remaining alive even as the very walls of its basement erode and crumble around her[2])
- Weapon Proficiency (Should be similar to her previous incarnation, who effortlessly and efficiently sliced the Long Quiet's throat open with one cut.[1] Can even wield the chains binding her for combat[2])
- The Cage:
- Greater Subjective Reality (Gained enough influence over the world that the woods themselves changed to suit her new form[3])
- Multiple Selves (Type 3 - Her head and body are functionally two separate beings[3])
- Weapon Control (Chains - Exerts control over the chains that compose her cabin, constricting them around the Long Quiet's neck to behead him. Frees the Long Quiet from his restraints once she regains control over her body[3])

All innate abilities plus;
- Enhanced Subjective Reality (Warped the cabin into something appropriate for her new form[4])
- Bodily Weaponry (Possesses a plethora of cat-like features, including claws and sharp teeth[4])
- Enhanced Senses (Presumably has an enhanced sense of smell and will even attempt to sniff the Long Quiet to discern if he's lying[4])
- Root Manipulation (Seemingly holds control over the Wild, growing the roots that comprise the cabin on command. While she asserts that she's able to halt their growth, she lacks the precision needed to crush the Long Quiet without killing herself as well[4])
- The Thorn:
- Greater Subjective Reality (Gained enough influence over the world that the woods themselves changed to suit her new form[5])
- Limited Thorn Manipulation (Surrounded by a hedge of thorns and ensnared in thorn laden vines. These vines will wrap around the Long Quiet should he ever attempt to attack her[5])

- Paralysis Inducement, Biological Manipulation and Fear Aura (Overwhelming - Emanates such overwhelming terror that merely being in her vicinity can completely halt the Long Quiet's body, shutting down his organs and making his blood coagulate[8])
- Pocket Reality Manipulation (The basement of the cabin is subject to her whims, transforming it into an endless void of nothing with a truly bottomless pit that, if fallen into, will allow the Long Quiet to fall until he succumbs to the frailties of biology[8])
- Madness Manipulation (Type 3 - Seeing whatever lies beneath her mask floods the Long Quiet with an endless traumatic cycle of death and rebirth, so horrifying that it shattered the Narrator's psyche and made him abandon the Long Quiet[8])
- Flight (Is always floating in the air[8])
- Possibly Teleportation (Seemingly flickers in and out of existence[8])
- The Moment of Clarity:
- Greater Subjective Reality (Gained enough influence over the world that the woods themselves changed to suit her new form[9])

- Superhuman Physical Characteristics (One of the most powerful incarnations of the Princess[15])

The abstract concept of transformation[27] and contrast itself which is the shape of everything.[25] Being contrast itself, the shape of everything which connects all things, and what dictates opposites as a whole means she simultaneously exists in all conceivable opposites such as "is" and "is not", "beginning" and "end", as her very nature is "paradox." To transform is to go from "what is" to "what is not."[25] She remains uninfluenced by the endless dance of her "multitudes" which are her opposites[31] and is unrestrained by notions such as "is" and "is not."[25] She and the Long Quiet are stated to be the cycle of life and death, creation and destruction[27])
- Nonexistent Physiology (Nature 2, Aspects 1, 2, 3 and 5; Causality - The Shifting Mound is above and encompasses "is" and "is not",[25] "everything" and "nothing",[25] "action" and "reaction",[25] and "an endless tapestry of events".[25] Is the Long Quiet's mirror,[25] and shares a reflection of each other's gifts[25])

- Immortality (Type 5 - Stated to transcend death, unlike those it holds captive[25])

- Existence Erasure (As an equal to The Long Quiet she would have his ability to destroy a being in every iteration of reality[32])
- Non-Physical Interaction (Nonduality Type 3; Can interact with The Long Quiet)
Attack Potency: Varies (Directly tied to how others perceive her.[16] If one were to fully comprehend her true nature, a single intrusive thought could instantly end the world[27]), usually Street level (Slight doubt makes her punches akin to a sledgehammer, fracturing bone with each blow, which should be in this area of strength[1])
Speed: Varies, usually Athletic Human (Noted to be "fast" by The Narrator and nearly caught up to the Long Quiet despite the latter's head start.[1] Caught the Long Quiet's arm mid-swing[1])
Lifting Strength: Varies, up to Class 50 (Able to break out of her chains just by pulling them[1])
Striking Strength: Varies, usually Street level (Can break bone with her punches[1])
Durability: Varies, usually Street level (The Narrator claims that it would be "rather difficult"[1] for the Long Quiet to slay her without the pristine blade)
Stamina: Varies, usually Superhuman (Completely unfazed by both the Long Quiet cutting off her arm and chewing through it herself. Barely reacts to having a blade plunged into her back. The Long Quiet's attempt at outwaiting her ends with him drifting off to sleep[1])
Range: Typically Standard Melee Range
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]), usually Above Average (Effectively argued for her release by leveraging the Narrator's secrecy and by painting herself as a victim rather than a threat.[1] Tricked the Long Quiet into freeing her by using her severed arm as a lure[1])
- Standard Tactics: Determined by how she's viewed.
- Seeing her as a threat results in a cold and combative version of the Princess who won't hesitate to threaten and belittle her opponent if they don't immediately disarm, becoming more powerful the more they buy into her threats or acquiesce to her commands.[1] Seeing her as harmless or at least not an immediate danger results in a meek and demure version of the Princess who will only become violent if betrayed.[1]
- Her fighting style can vary significantly; overwhelming her foe with a relentless barrage of punches and kicks, lurking in the shadows and using bait to lure her prey before pouncing and tearing them apart with her claws and fangs or patiently waiting for an opponent's move before catching them off-guard with a hidden blade.[1]
- Should her foe land a lethal blow, she would mockingly ask with her last breath "Do you actually believe this was enough to kill me?" And if the Princess succeeds in sparking any doubt about her death, she would revive and immediately launch a surprise attack.[1]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[2]); Street level (Held her own against an armed Long Quiet[3]), higher with Chains (Severed the Long Quiet’s head, which should be in this area of strength[3])
Speed: Varies; Athletic Human (Instantly ensnared the Long Quiet in a stranglehold with her chains, even as he was charging toward her[2]), Immobile as a head
Lifting Strength: Varies; Athletic Human (Hoisted the Long Quiet up to the cabin’s doorway[3])
Striking Strength: Varies; Street level (Shoved the Long Quiet away with a kick[2])
Durability: Varies; Street level (Fought on par with the Long Quiet[3])
Stamina: Varies; Superhuman (Doesn't react to cutting off her own head[2])
Range: Standard Melee Range, Several Meters with Chains. Tens of Meters with Subjective Reality as the Prisoner. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality as the Cage
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Gifted (Outwit the Narrator by orchestrating a scenario where she is “saved” without his knowledge[2])
- Standard Tactics:
- The Prisoner: Her influence has extended to the point where it has warped her surroundings, turning the cabin’s interior into a cold and oppressive dungeon, with iron bars barricading the windows, reinforcing the idea that it is a prison. The Prisoner herself is tethered to the far wall of the basement by a pair of wrist shackles and a thick collar, and beside her lies a vacant shackle, poised to ensnare any who dare inspect it. Though her movements are severely limited by her restraints, she's not a defenseless damsel; she can use the very chains that bind her to viciously strangle anyone who'd attempt to take her life.[2]
- The Cage: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into a barren, rocky expanse littered with crosses draped in chains, with the cabin itself being contorted into a tangled web of chains over a dark, gaping pit. Resigned to a vicious cycle she believes to be immutable, the Cage no longer consciously controls her own body. Instead, it moves solely in accordance with the bleak pattern she has envisioned, seeking only to behead the Long Quiet so that they may both endlessly and helplessly watch their bodies murder one another. Consequently, devoid of any agency or control, she makes no effort to defend herself against attacks.[3]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[4]); Street level (Should be as powerful as her previous incarnation, who killed the Long Quiet by "ripping [him] to pieces."[1] Fought the Long Quiet on equal footing[4]), Wall level with Pristine Blade (Allows the Long Quiet to kill the Nightmare,[8] the Adversary[13] and the Tower[15]). At least Street level with the roots of the Wild (Eventually crushed both herself and The Long Quiet[4])
Speed: Varies; Athletic Human (Fought on par with the Long Quiet[4]), Below Average Human attack speed with the roots of the Wild (Described as slow by the Narrator[4])
Lifting Strength: Varies; Superhuman (Should be comparable to her previous incarnation, who managed to rip off her own arm after chewing a chunk of it[1])
Striking Strength: Varies; Street level (Tackled the Long Quiet to the ground[4])
Durability: Varies; Street level (Getting thrown down the stairs breaks her back[4])
Stamina: Varies; Superhuman (Kept a smile through the rots of the Wild breaking her bones and swelling her flesh with trapped blood.[4] Survived swallowing the pristine blade[5])
Range: Standard Melee Range, higher with Pristine Blade. Tens of Meters with Subjective Reality and Root Manipulation as the Witch. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality as the Thorn
Standard Equipment: None notable. The Pristine Blade as the Thorn.
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Above Average (Lulled the Long Quiet into a false sense of security by pretending to be chained to the wall and successfully capitalized on his surprise once she revealed her freedom[4])
- Standard Tactics:
- The Witch: Her influence has extended to the point where it has warped her surroundings, turning the cabin’s interior into a mess of twisted roots and knotted wood, with air heavy with the smell of dirt and copper. Being the result of the Long Quiet's betrayal of her, the Witch is naturally distrustful of others, always aiming to betray others before they can do the same to her. In combat, the Witch uses a variety of underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand; blinding her foe with a fistful of dirt, gouging their eyes, pulling their hair and any other dirty trick at her disposal. Should the battle not proceed in her favor, the Witch will resort to invoking the roots of the Wild to crush both herself and her opponent.[4]
- The Thorn: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into a barren landscape of trees resembling thorns. The cabin itself is warped into a burned-out remnant of what it once was, with the basement, now an open cavern, being overrun with fresh shoots of thorny branches. The Thorn herself is ensnared in thorn laden vines, clutching the pristine blade but being unable to wield it effectively, as any attempt to do so would result in the thorns tearing into her arm. Her sole means of defense is the hedge of thorns that surrounds her, which will wrap around anyone who attempts to attack her, immobilizing them with its constricting grip.[5]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[2]); Unknown. Small City level Environmental Destruction with Weather Manipulation (Her influence can conjure a rainstorm, which requires this much energy[6])
Speed: Varies; Unknown (Vanished before the Long Quiet could make a move[6])
Lifting Strength: Varies; Unknown (Can still interact with her environment[6])
Striking Strength: Varies; Unknown (The Voice of the Cold views her as harmless[6])
Durability: Varies, Unknown, Immortality and Intangibility make her difficult to harm and kill[6]
Stamina: Varies, Superhuman (Kept a smile as she burned to a crisp[6])
Range: Standard Melee Range. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality and Weather Manipulation
Standard Equipment: The Pristine Blade lodged into her chest
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Average (Realized that "the cabin" was responsible for the Long Quiet and the Princess hurting each other, but her solution, burning it down, would have merely reset the loop had the Multitude not intervened[6]) to Gifted (Her previous incarnation outwit the Narrator by orchestrating a scenario where she is “saved” without his knowledge[2])
- Standard Tactics:
- The "Burned" Grey: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into a parched and desolate landscape. The cabin itself has become a brittle, sun-scorched shell, the air inside so stale it feels as if it has stopped moving entirely and the torches, long devoid of fuel, flicker feebly more out of habit than from adherence to the physical reality. The Grey intends to set the cabin ablaze when the Long Quiet arrives to ensure that they perish together in the inferno. It's unknown how she would handle a combat situation that doesn't involve the Long Quiet.[6]
- The "Drowned" Grey: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into a dreary, perpetually rainy landscape. The cabin itself is in a neglected, waterlogged state, with the basement already being partially submerged. In combat, the Grey utilizes the environment to her advantage, luring her opponent into the basement before gradually flooding it, driving them back with tidal waves should they resist, even reanimating her bloated corpse and making it drag them into the depths of the flooding basement to further ensure that they drown.[6]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[7]); Unknown (Crushed the Long Quiet's heart[7])
Speed: Varies; At least Athletic Human (Seemingly disappeared from the Long Quiet's sight[7])
Lifting Strength: Varies; Superhuman (Immobilized the Long Quiet[7])
Striking Strength: Varies; Unknown (Left bruises on the Long Quiet's skin[7])
Durability: Varies; Unknown, Immortality and Intangibility make her difficult to harm and kill[7]
Stamina: Varies; Likely Superhuman (A slash to her throat didn't faze her[7])
Range: Standard Melee Range. Tens of Meters with Subjective Reality
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Average (Portrayed her request to "hitch a ride" as mutually beneficial[7])
- Standard Tactics: Her influence has extended to the point where it has warped her surroundings, turning the cabin’s interior into a cold and eerie space, coated in a thick layer of dust that settles heavily in the stale air. The Spectre is generally quite friendly, only resorting to violence should her pleas be ignored or if her opponent persistently attacks her. When pushed into combat, she phases her hand inside her opponent’s chest before ripping out their heart and crushing it.[7]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, given that the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13]); At least Street level (Should be as powerful as her previous incarnation, who can shatter bones with her strikes and is the only initial princess capable of breaking her metal chain.[1] The Long Quiet harbors no doubts about her capability to end the world. The Voice of the Hero even questioned whether the Pristine Blade would be enough, believing that they'd need something stronger, like a bomb, to deal with her[8]), at least Wall level as the Moment of Clarity (All the Voices agree that the Long Quiet is powerless to stop her, and that's with the Voice of the Paranoid preventing the Long Quiet's body from shutting down. The Voice of the Broken goes as far as claiming that she "smashes [them] into smaller pieces." whenever they confront her[9])
Speed: Varies; At least Athletic Human (Easily caught up to the Long Quiet[8])
Lifting Strength: Varies; Class 50 (Should be comparable to her previous incarnation, who shattered her chains just by pulling them[1])
Striking Strength: Varies; At least Street level, at least Wall level as the Moment of Clarity
Durability: Varies; At least Street level (Claimed that the Long Quiet couldn't harm her[8]), at least Wall level as the Moment of Clarity
Stamina: Varies; Infinite (Claimed so[9])
Range: Standard Melee Range, Several Meters with Fear Aura. Tens of Meters with Subjective Reality as the Nightmare. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality as the Moment of Clarity
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Above Average (Withheld access of the stairs from the Long Quiet, ensuring that her own release is the only way for him to escape.[8] Molded the Long Quiet into being docile towards her[9])
- Standard Tactics:
- The Nightmare: Her influence has extended to the point where it has warped her surroundings, turning the cabin’s interior into a haunting echo of its former self, featuring an empty frame where the door once was and an unsettling number of eyes peering in through the windows. Descending into the basement reveals an endless void full of cobblestones suspended on nothing and air reminiscent of static. The Nightmare herself is so terrifying that her mere presence causes internal organs to shut down. Should her opponent endure it, the Nightmare will either resort to dropping them into the endless nothingness or breaking their mind by removing her mask and revealing her innermost self.[8]
- The Moment of Clarity: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into an extension of her endless void, the once familiar path now replaced by floating cobblestones and trees suspended in nothingness, with the cabin itself being reduced to floating walls that hover around a barren hill. The Moment of Clarity, as we see her, has already molded the Long Quiet into a broken husk with no real will to resist. As a result, it's unknown how she'd approach combat.[9]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and might have expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[7]); Street level (Described as "a lot worse"[10] than the Spectre and "much more terrible"[8] than the Nightmare. Twisted the Long Quiet's leg 180 degrees[10])
Speed: Varies; Unknown (Shown to be rather sluggish[10])
Lifting Strength: Varies; Unknown
Striking Strength: Varies; Street level
Durability: Varies; Street level
Stamina: Varies; Superhuman (Made the Long Quiet walk with a splintered ankle while possessing him[10])
Range: Standard Melee Range. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Average to Above Average (Saw through the Narrator's attempt at making the hallway stretch on indefinitely[10])
- Standard Tactics: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into a nightmarish landscape filled with gnarled, twisted trees and littered with cobwebs. The cabin itself is warped into a long, narrow hallway with curtains flapping by the windows, leading to a seemingly endless abyss. The Wraith is the result of a Princess who has learned she could not rely on others to free her. And as such, she will attempt to incapacitate her opponent before possessing them and walking their body out of the cabin. She isn't afraid of destroying that body in the process.[10]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[11]); At least Street level (The Beast is considered too powerful for the Long Quiet to fight, easily overwhelming him if confronted head-on.[11] Her bite can cut the Long Quiet in half, which should be in this area of strength.[11] The Den is even larger[11][12])
Speed: Varies; Superhuman (The Beast is considered too quick for the Long Quiet to outrun, having "speed that makes her practically unseen."[11] Could tag the Long Quiet, who with the Voice of the Hunted, could consistently sidestep attacks from the Eye of the Needle[14] and the Razor[18])
Lifting Strength: Varies; Class 50 (Shattered her chains, which requires such levels of force[11])
Striking Strength: Varies; At least Street level (Tore the Long Quiet apart[11])
Durability: Varies; At least Street level (An unarmed Long Quiet can't do anything to her[11])
Stamina: Varies, Superhuman (Should be similar to her previous incarnation, who didn't flinch from chewing off her arm.[1] Isn't bothered by the Long Quiet ripping her insides[11]), potentially Infinite as the Den (Will never tire so long as she keeps on consuming flesh[12])
Range: Extended Melee Range, higher as the Den. Tens of Meters with Subjective Reality as the Beast. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality as the Den
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Above Average (Proactively uses her terrain in her favor; hiding in the shadows, only revealing herself when absolutely necessary[11]), High Animalistic as the Den (Though the Den operates primarily on instinct, she is capable of feeling shame, defeat, remorse and even chooses to save the Long Quiet after he helps her[12])
- Standard Tactics:
- The Beast: Her influence has extended to the point where it has warped her surroundings, turning the cabin’s interior into a ruinous and dilapidated space, with the basement becoming a dense, oppressive jungle, with walls obscured by an impenetrable darkness that gives the illusion that the room might stretch on forever. The jungle conceals the Beast's presence as she lurks in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Singular in mind, unable to be reasoned with, holding only the desire to consume her opponent, the Beast believes that her prey might hold the key to her freedom and as such will attempt to avoid killing them outright, though her stomach acids will eventually do the job if they do not escape. She is more than willing to kill them directly if they resist or fight back.[11]
- The Den: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into a dense jungle teeming with thick vegetation. The cabin itself is overgrown, vines and brush obscuring its structure so much that it barely resembles a cabin, with a narrow tunnel that leads to the basement, now a gaping maw, a vast empty space with barely any light. The Den, now driven purely by primal instincts, fights like a feral predator, tearing into her prey with claws and teeth, seeking to consume their strength. Though she bleeds, she mends just as quickly, each bite further bolstering her strength while draining that of her opponent. Should one trick her into chasing them out, she'll get trapped in the entrance of the tunnel, which she is too big to fit through.[12]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[13]); Wall level (The Adversary can punch the Long Quiet's face off with one blow and crush his skull with one hand. Shattered a stone door by slamming into it four times, which should be in this area of strength[13]), higher as the Eye of the Needle (Is even more powerful, easily overwhelming the Long Quiet if confronted head-on,[14] while the Adversary could be stalemated that way[13])
Speed: Varies; At least Athletic Human (Nearly caught up to the Long Quiet despite the latter's head start[13])
Lifting Strength: Varies; Class K (Shattered her chains[13]), higher as the Eye of the Needle (Performed the same feat without even paying attention[14])
Striking Strength: Varies; Wall level (Capable of killing the Long Quiet with one blow[13]), higher as the Eye of the Needle (Can throw a dagger so hard it penetrates all the way through the Long Quiet's body and embeds itself in a wooden door in front of him[14])
Durability: Varies; Wall level (Can withstand slamming into a stone door until it shatters without being injured[13]), higher as the Eye of the Needle
Stamina: Varies; Superhuman, potentially Infinite (Has a "near total ignorance to pain" and is unfazed by the Long Quiet's attacks, but will still slow down and grow weak if she accumulates too much damage.[14] Thinking "The Princess Can't Die." made her able to fight the Long Quiet for all of eternity[13])
Range: Extended Melee Range, higher as the Eye of the Needle. Tens of Meters with Subjective Reality as the Adversary. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality as the Eye of the Needle
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Average (Let the Long Quiet sink his blade deep into her heart, trapping him in place long enough for her to wrap him in her killer bear hug[14])
- Standard Tactics:
- The Adversary: Her influence has extended to the point where it has warped her surroundings, turning the cabin’s interior into a cramped and oppressive space, the air thick and heavy, carrying an almost sulfuric odor. The Adversary craves a worthy opponent above all else, and as such she'll never resort to trickery or sneak attacks, even returning her opponent's weapon and waiting until they are ready before engaging. In battle, she heavily relies on her raw physical strength, mostly brawling with her bare fists and elbows. Due to her perceived immortality, the Adversary rarely makes any effort to defend herself.[13]
- The Eye of the Needle: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into a rugged, rocky landscape, with the path to the cabin becoming a tight tunnel. The cabin itself is suffocatingly tight, leaving no option but to press forward. The Eye of the Needle, more bestial and far less restrained than the Adversary, is relentless in her pursuit of her foes. Any action that doesn't directly bring them closer to her will result in her breaking free of her bond and chasing them down. She won't hesitate to fight dirty if necessary, such as employing the pristine blade as a projectile should her opponent attempt to flee.[14]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[15]); Wall level (Her sheer size alone lets her generate this much energy. Her punch could pulverize the Long Quiet and crater the ground[15]), Universe level+ with Reality Warping (Believes herself to be capable of destroying and remaking the world[15]). Multiverse level+ as the Apotheosis (Can open a hole in the Construct, damaging the Long Quiet's true form in the process[16])
Speed: Varies; Superhuman, at least Subsonic by sheer size as the Apotheosis
Lifting Strength: Varies; Class M (Could easily shatter her chains[15]), Immeasurable as the Apotheosis (Could physically rip apart the sleeping body of the Long Quiet which is used as the basis of the construct, which is a device that houses[27] an infinite number of alternate universes[25]).
Striking Strength: Varies; Wall level. Multiverse level+ as the Apotheosis (Just by standing up she was able to shatter a marble hill[16])
Durability: Varies; Wall level. Multiverse level+ as the Apotheosis
Stamina: Varies; Likely Superhuman (Should be comparable to her previous incarnation, who barely reacted to having a blade plunged into her back.[1] Kept laughing as the Long Quiet repeatedly stabbed her[15])
Range: Extended Melee Range, Tens of Meters to Hundreds of Meters as the Apotheosis, Universal with Reality Warping. Tens of Meters with Subjective Reality as the Tower. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality as the Apotheosis
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Unknown
- Standard Tactics:
- The Tower: Her influence has extended to the point where it has warped her surroundings, turning the cabin’s interior into a grandiose space far larger than its humble exterior would suggest, with an overwhelming sense of scale makes anyone within feel incredibly small. The basement resembles a place of worship more than a prison, with bright light illuminating intricate stonework and a stained glass window depicting hands reaching up towards the Tower. Believing herself to be a god, The Tower cannot view any individual as an equal. Upon meeting an opponent, she'd command them into either dropping their weapon or kneeling before her, depending on whether they are armed or not. Resistance is futile as her voice compels compliance. If they fully succumb, she'll instruct them into breaking her chain and freeing her, as she considers the idea of someone willingly freeing her more fitting for a goddess of her caliber. Alternatively, if her opponent shows enough resistance, she'll escalate her commands into ordering them to end their own life if they're armed, or willing it upon existence simply by narrating so. Should her foe fully resist her and manage to harm her, the Tower would resort to crushing them with her fist, an act that horrifies and disgusts her as she sees it as unbecoming of a divine being such as herself.[15]
- The Apotheosis: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into a surreal landscape where everything is made of marble. By this point, the Long Quiet's perception of the Princess has warped her into a being so vast and powerful that she dwarfs him in every possible way. The Apotheosis towers over the entire landscape around the cabin, having become so powerful that she herself serves as a center of gravity, with everything in her surroundings orbiting her. Nothing can approach her without being caught in this gravitational pull. Having realized the Construct is an illusion, she now seeks to escape it, and thus views herself as beyond petty conflict. She'll treat anyone who'd attempt to slay her not as adversaries but as small, misguided beings who must be shown the futility of opposing her. However, should one actually succeed in harming her, she'll become consumed with rage and retaliate with an inferno of light that burns away every facet of their being.[16]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[15]); Likely Street level (Seemingly weaker than both of her previous incarnation, being unable to break her chains. Her sheer size makes her this powerful[17])
Speed: Varies; Unknown (Unwound the Long Quiet before he could reach her[17])
Lifting Strength: Varies; Unknown (Unable to break her chains[17])
Striking Strength: Varies; Likely Street level
Durability: Varies; Likely Street level
Stamina: Varies; Superhuman (Doesn't react to degloving her entire forearm[17])
Range: Extended Melee Range, higher with Biological Manipulation. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Above Average (Outmaneuvered the Long Quiet, forcibly sustaining his life to render death, and by extension escape, impossible[17])
- Standard Tactics: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into an unsettling landscape of wobbly, wet-looking growths shot with veins, with trees resembling grasping clawed hands. The cabin itself is warped into a long-forgotten castle of marble columns overtaken by streaks of writhing nerves and wet clumps of living meat. The Fury is single-minded in her pursuit of revenge. Upon seeing her opponent, she will gruesomely deglove her entire forearm to escape her chain before approaching and "unwinding" them, turning them inside-out. If she was previously the Tower, she will tolerate no resistance. Should her opponent show even a flicker of defiance, she will cause them to explode, keeping them alive but trapped in a state where they can do nothing but observe. If she was previously the Adversary, she revels in the fight, finding joy in her opponent's resistance, but will still ultimately reduce them to nothing should their defiance persist too long.[17]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[18]); At least Street level (Easily cut through and killed the Long Quiet multiple times[19][20]), at least Wall level as the Mutually Assured Destruction/Empty Cup (Was considered to be difficult enough for all voices to debate on their chances,[22][21] including the Stubborn, which did not happen when he fought the Adversary[13] and Eye of the Needle[14])
Speed: Varies; Peak Human (Too fast for the Long Quiet to outrun[18]), Superhuman as the Empty Cup
Lifting Strength: Varies; Unknown
Striking Strength: Varies; At least Street level, at least Wall level as the Empty Cup
Durability: Varies; Unknown (Her blades easily cut through her[18]), At least Street level as the Arms Race/No Way Out (Her bones are made out of metal,[20] with an armed Long Quiet only causing superficial damage to her skin[19]), at least Wall level as the Mutually Assured Destruction/Empty Cup
Stamina: Varies; Superhuman (Shows no signs of pain when her blades slice open her arms[18])
Range: Extended Melee Range, higher as the Mutually Assured Destruction/Empty Cup. Tens of Meters with Subjective Reality as the Razor. At least Tens of Kilometers with Subjective Reality as the Arms Race/No Way Out and the Mutually Assured Destruction/Empty Cup
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]), Unknown
- Standard Tactics:
- The Razor: Her influence has extended to the point where it has warped her surroundings, turning the cabin’s interior into a jagged mess of warped wood as uninviting as shattered glass, with the basement becoming a long, narrow tunnel that seems to stretch endlessly. Upon encountering the Razor, she'd initially attempt to play the role of a captured Princess. However, her acting is very wooden, with her responses always containing some reference to stabbing. As soon as her adversary approach her, she'd expunge a blade from her body and strike. Should they run away or attempt to stall her, she'd cut off her arm, freeing herself from her bindings, before rushing at them.[18]
- The Arms Race/No Way Out: Her influence extends well beyond the confines of the cabin, transforming the surrounding woods into a metal landscape overrun with spikes. The cabin itself is warped into a sharp and constricting mess of curved and battered sheet metal, with the stairs leading to the basement now a smooth, slippery ramp that quickly sends anyone on it skittering to the bottom. In combat, the Arms Race/No Way Out charges her opponent, relentlessly hacking at them until her blade finds its mark and skewers them. There is no safe angle of attack, as she can spawn blades from anywhere on her body.[19][20]
- The Mutually Assured Destruction/Empty Cup: As a more powerful branched version of the Arms Race/No Way Out, the Empty Cup should retain the scale of her influence, with the cabin becoming an even more chaotic mess of twisted and jagged sheet metal. The Empty Cup begins the fight by violently splitting her skin open to reveal a being composed entirely of blades surrounding a beating heart. She fights in a manner similar to her predecessor, relentlessly swinging her blades until her opponent is dead.[22][21]
Attack Potency: Varies (If to a lesser extend, as the Long Quiet has already gained a perspective on her[13] and expressed doubts on her capacity to end the world[4]); Universe level+ (The Wild became one with the universe, having no beginning nor end. The Narrator had to actively push it back from reaching the Construct[23]), up to Multiverse level+ (The Wild is stated to be able to grow even more vast and become more unfathomable, and by surpassing their limits, they can even breach a hole into the Construct[23])
Speed: Varies; Nigh-Omnipresence (Is one with the entire universe[23])
Lifting Strength: Varies; Universal (Became the universe itself[23])
Striking Strength: Varies; Unknown (While the Wild can influence the universe, her physical body is spread out and likely unable to directly strike anything[23])
Durability: Varies; Universe level+ (Became one with the construct's reality[23]), up to Multiverse level+
Stamina: Varies; Unknown
Range: Universal
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Varies (Her mind is constantly shifting into something new[33]); Unknown
- Standard Tactics: Her influence has extended to the point where she became one with the Long Quiet and the woods, an amalgamation of the roots and trees that comprise the forest. The Wild simply wishes to free herself from the construct and, as such, will attempt to expand until she shatters it. However, if her thoughts venture back to her past grievances with the Long Quiet, the fusion falls apart, leaving her wounded. The Wounded Wild is a pitiful sight, fused with a tree, her ribcage torn open and her heart exposed to the open.[23]
Attack Potency: Multiverse level+ (The Stranger contains an infinite number of worlds,[25] but is still merely a lesser aspect of the Multitude.[32] The Wild is considered a mere shadow of its power[23])
Speed: Nigh-Omnipresence (Is all versions of the infinite variations of the Princess, including the Wild[23])
Lifting Strength: Immeasurable (Can hold both the Wild, which became the universe[23] and the Stranger who is composed of an infinite variations of Princesses[25])
Striking Strength: Multiverse level+
Durability: Multiverse level+
Stamina: Likely Infinite
Range: Multiversal+
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Nigh-Omniscience (Is the greater sum[32] of an infinite amount of different people[25])
Weaknesses: None notableAttack Potency: Low Outerverse level (The Shifting Mound is the irreducible shape of everything, which governs form and substance, being unconditioned by is and is not,[25] and includes space[35] and time.[26] The Shifting Mound and Long Quiet possess the ability to forge Absolute Reality through their will alone,[29] something that surpasses words, thoughts, and description, simply existing.[36] Their conflicting nature leads them to constantly dance and revolve around each other, their opposing desires allowing them to become more than they could ever imagine, lifting them higher and higher forever, perpetually surpassing one another.[25] The Multitude describes itself as a shallow creek compared to the ocean of the Shifting Mound.[24] An equal to the Long Quiet, whose cosmic form is infinite compared to the "finite" volume of the Construct[36])
Speed: Nigh-Omnipresence (Is half of reality personified, permeating every aspect of existence, from the trees to the cabin, to even the Long Quiet himself[25]), possibly Omnipresence (With the Long Quiet, their dance around each other becomes everything to ever have happen or ever will happen, with both calling Absolute Reality their home[36])
Lifting Strength: Immeasurable (Infinitely more powerful than before. Comparable to the Long Quiet, who's true form when extending outwards broke a multiverse sized construct[36])
Striking Strength: Low Outerverse level
Durability: Low Outerverse level (The Long Quiet was forced to enter her and pierce her "heart" in order to actually kill her, rather than by fighting her true body[29])
Stamina: Infinite (Capable of battling the Long Quiet for all of eternity[25])
Range: Low Outerverse
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Nigh-Omniscience (Aware of and is all of reality[25])
Weaknesses: None notable
Note: The Shifting Mound erasing the world shortly after the Princess leaves the cabin should be specified in battle assumptions, similar to whether the fight takes place inside or outside the Construct. If not stated, it should not be assumed to occur by default.
