Their bodies wrought by their tainted souls have left them disfigured and empty of essence. Many have sighted them over the years and describe them as horrid Revenants. They move silently through the woods, shying away from any beholder. They are called Gatherers as they seem to follow some ambition to steal living creatures.

Summary

The Gatherers are the main enemies found in the horror video game, Amnesia: the Dark Descent, typically harassing the player whenever they find an object or puzzle piece of importance. They protect Brennenburg Castle under the stead of Alexander, however notes imply that they are far more ancient, being the risen dead of the 30 Years War. They can't be killed by Daniel in any way, shape, or form, leaving the protagonist to hide and run from them wherever they appear.

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Strength and Durability, Immortality (Types 1, 2, and 7. They are infused with large amounts of Vitae, which can allow severed body parts such as Agrippa's head to stay alive indefinitely), Resistance to Madness Manipulation and Poison Manipulation (Unaffected by presence of The Shadow, which causes those near its fleshy residue to go insane and take damage, implied to have taken large quantities of toxins without any negative effects due to experimentation by Alexander)

Attack Potency: Wall level (Can shatter wooden doors and barrels and unhinge steel doors, even when they are barricaded. Grunts can kill Daniel in several hits, Brutes can one-shot him)

Speed: Below Average Human when it hasn't located prey (Slowly shambles around, looking for its next target), up to Athletic Human when charging (Can outspeed Daniel even when he is sprinting)

Lifting Strength: Peak Human (Can push past doors barricaded with filled barrels and crates, and lift them with ease)

Striking Strength: Wall level (Can casually kill humans like Daniel and unhinge steel doors in one or two hits)

Durability: Wall level (Can't be killed in-game, and is only staggered when bombarded with crates and barrels from above it, even when they shatter)

Stamina: Extremely High (Can chase Daniel across the entire castle without getting tired or losing chase. Can only be avoided by hiding)

Range: Standard melee range; Extended melee range for Brutes

Standard Equipment: None

Intelligence: Below Average Human, likely Animalistic (Able to somewhat track Daniel but can lose him pretty easily, normally they wander aimlessly around the mansion)

Weaknesses: They can be staggered by having large objects thrown at them, and if they lose track of their prey they typically revert back to wandering aimlessly.
