I would like to suggest listing an 8th type of Immortaliy: Immortality via inheritance

What that is supposed to mean is a form of immortality in which characters are revived or recreated as long as certain other things exist.

To give a few examples:

  • Aim Burst: A being that exists and regenerates from the subconcious of the 10,000 people its network is made of. So as long as the connection to them isn't severed and the people exist it can not be destroyed.
  • Fairys in Touhou, like for example Sunny Milk, are spirits of nature. As such the are regenerate as long as the aspect of nature they embody exists, which would be in the example the sun.
  • In Umineko conceptual inheritance as a form of immortality is even named like that (well maybe something else was meant, but they have it either way). For example Beatrice is for one thing also a manifestation of the rules of the game board IIRC. So as long as those exist she can revive from them.
  • Voldemort has his Horcruxes that revive him as long as they aren't destroyed, that would also be a case of that.

In a way Immortality through Godhood may seems like a bit of a special case of this (in that case the immortality would be inheritance from a god), but I would like to add this extra in order to not have to go through pages and change it and since I believe that this type of immortality is relevant and general enough to have an extra category. What do you think, everyone?

I don't think it's necessary. If there are certain special conditions to their immortality, they can be placed under notes on their page. Less work, more economical. What do you guys think?TheMightyRegulator 23:48, January 27, 2016 (UTC)

I am personally uncertain. Perhaps it would be better to create a content revision forum topic to get more responses? Antvasima (talk) 06:09, January 28, 2016 (UTC)

The Doctor[]

Which would the Doctor from Doctor Who fall under? I'm thinking either reincarnation or parasitic.

Also there could be a distinction within "eternal life", between temporal immortality (can't die of old age but can get diseases), and biological immortality (can't die of old age or disease but can from injuries). RedPanda25 (talk) 21:34, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
