Summary

Taiyo Asano (朝あさ野の 太陽たいよう, Asano Taiyo), is the protagonist of the series and the husband of Mutsumi Yozakura. He is very kind and compassionate, which is very surprising in the world of spies. Originally an ordinary human, his training to be a spy has caused him to become a superhuman. His reason for marrying Mutsumi is because of the Yozakura family's one rule: "No killing among family"—the one thing that would protect him from getting killed by Mutsumi's overprotective brother Kyoichiro. He specializes in using Yae, a revolver that fires electricity instead of bullets and can transform into a katana. After Mutsumi gives him some of her blood, he gains the abilities of the Yozakura family, including the ability of "Blooming". His Blooming ability allows him to harden his body. His signature color is red.

Stamina: Superhuman (As a Yozakura, he is expected to be able to protect Mutsumi around the clock with zero exceptions. Has to maneuver around traps as part of his mere morning routine. Capable of evading Kyochiro’s onslaught of chalk after pulling an all-nighter and after Kyochiro used pressure points to make him sleepier. After this, Taiyo became capable of fighting even while asleep. Spent an entire school day while avoiding needles from Ayaka without drawing attention to himself at school although he was starting to get frustrated near the end. Was able to stand after electrocuting himself with over 8 million volts after his tendons were sliced. Is able to full sprint for an hour straight before he even becomes a bronze-ranked spy. Was able to fight the White Snake despite his brain being filled with so much information that he felt like his head was exploding. Felt no pain after slashing his own leg, Momo proceeded to state that Bloodletting should only be done by the physically resilient, once he wrapped up the wound he was immediately ready to fight again. He then proceeded to remain conscious after getting slashed by Ai off guard, as well as being poisoned by Mizuki right after. Was implied to have swam 1000 kilometers home alongside Kyochiro, although he eventually tired out and washed up on the Japanese coast. Managed to fight Kawashita after fighting his monsters and being poisoned. Had little reaction to having his vital organs pierced by metal blades. After Tsubomi awakened the Chizakura, Taiyo was also capable of spending the whole day in Blooming with little to no toll on his stamina)

Standard Equipment: First Yae is a lightning revolver used for self-defense. Its shoots with a maximum power of 8 million volts. Although at low power it can also treat shoulder stiffness. Second Yae: Rain transforms into a katana designed to conduct electricity, using the revolver as a grip. The sword has no guard and has a fuller extending almost the full length of the sword. Optional Equipment:

• Rope Man Belt was designed by Shinzo and it stores a special rope which shoots out from the belt buckle and can be used as a grappling hook. It can handle loads of up to 500 kilograms and is 50 meters in length.
• Super Young Gray Hair. A fake hair strand created by Kengo. It is made of shape memory resin so it will return to its original shape even if deformed. It can be bent to satisfy the user's need and can easily fit through tight spaces.
• Water Catcher is water balloon that can be embedded in the throat. It comes in handy for magic tricks or drinking situations
• Kengo's fake skin is an armor Taiyo can wear over himself that is durable enough to shatter knives on impact with it. Additionally, it is noted to be bullet proof. Can also be used to impersonate others through disguises.
• Alongside fake skins to impersonate other, there is Voice Changing Device that is embedded in the throat. It changes the user's voice to help match their disguises. All you need to do is speak normally.
• Steel Spider is also used by Taiyo to either cut or restrain people. The length of Taiyo's is 50 meters.
• Good Night Whale needles, developed by Nanao, are syringes that induce paralysis in opponents. Taiyo has only ten of these.
• Blood Spatter Ball was used by Taiyo to fake a gunshot wound.
• Lockpicking needle is a needle hidden under Taiyo's fake skin.
• Kengo's patented "realistic hands" and "realistic blood" are to be used for the intention of faking injuries.
• Anti-Shock Jacket "Fluff Fluff" is a shock-absorbing cotton fiber. Can disperse the body's weight, so it is super comfortable as bedding too
• His Battle Knife that can transform into a hundred different ways and has slots in its indentations for poisons like muscle relaxer.

Was able to crack the password of the Yozakura family bathroom despite it having multiple number pads and resetting every minute, and would've had to do so consistently as he lives in the house. While it was pushing him to his physical limit, he was also able to survive the Yozakura family's training for a month. Which Futaba states despite the immense talent Yozakuras have compared to normal people took her 3 years to ease into. Generally goes on missions by himself from hours to days at a time, with activities such as digging up information on large scale organizations like Tanpopo or taking down mafias along with other forms of organized crime. Figured out how to disable a torpedo when it was a few seconds from impact. Passed the Bronze rank written exam where a single wrong answer will fail you the test, with all the questions being relevant to spy work and combat scenarios as well as mathematics and sciences. Along with passing the bronze rank exam as a whole, which has a less than 1% pass rate. Figured out Futaba's puzzle by using basic Aiki manipulation despite not being well trained in the martial art after seeing it once. When he realized he could approach the challenge from a different angle. Which several spies and martial artists, even those trained in Aiki, couldn't figure out; Taiyo was also not familiar with the Yozakura Family Tea ceremony which would have given him a hint. During Kyoichiro's section of the exam he faced a challenge to not let the threads holding him up snap. The threads are fragile enough that a slight change in heartbeat could break them, yet he was the last person remaining and only slightly lost his cool when Kyoichiro mentioned Tsubomi Yozakura. Passed the Silver rank exam overall, which the other Yozakura believed no one else that year would pass including Shion who is one of the most analytical among the Yozakuras. Futaba and Shinzo also heavily doubted Taiyo could pass Kyoichiro's section of the exam, as he has repeatedly failed all the contestants. Helped strategize on how to retrieve their siblings, despite Shinzo and Futaba both being combat specialists and the stronger members of the family outside of Kyoichiro. Shinzo was so aware of Kengo and Taiyo's ability to concoct strategies and set traps that he opts to not give them time to think when fighting them. He has a tendency to unintentionally deploy nasty traps and tricks and is cruel enough to gouge his opponent's vulnerable area

Very early into his training, he instantly reacts to and disarms a man who took him by surprise and held him at gunpoint, point blank from behind. Knows how to react to opponents armed with guns even when barehanded. Despite being easily defeated by a more experienced spy in Hanawa due to a lack in skill. Someone described as a "top-ranked pro" by Kyoichiro. After 3 days of training with Kyoichiro, he was able to counter his attacks and fight on par with him. Hanawa also praises his improvement, with Taiyo only being put on the backfoot due to being nicked by poison. After spending more time training with the Yozakuras. He has managed to figure out how to perform an imitation of the stepping on flowers technique in only 10 days of following Sui, and on the last day, he managed to follow him for a whole day, which no one else was capable of before him. This is despite the fact that Taiyo was incapable of perceiving the attacks and was weaker than Sui, making the latter acknowledge why Taiyo was allowed into the Yozakura family. Managed to outsmart and completely out-skill Kurogao in hand-to-hand combat despite his decades of experience in the spy field. Despite Kurogao having a specialty in working with information to copy and or use the attacks of others, he never showcased Stepping on Flowers while Taiyo did. When instructed to fire Yae North East, 49 degrees at 70% power he does so instantly without hesitation and hits his target. He also standardly fights against several armed opponents with relative strength to him and often wins, albeit with effort. Came up with the plan to use the Sakura roots formation to sneak past Kawashita and reach the former Yozakura's head corpse on the fly. Kawashita, the leader of a secret organization who is 108 years old, complements Taiyo's intelligence throughout their fight. Was capable of outsmarting Shinzo in a fight even though he is a gold rank spy and beat his challenge through strategizing with other examinees via hand signals and accurately deducing the weakness of his Blooming, which Shion credits him for.. He is complimented by the likes of Kyoichiro throughout their encounter in the silver rank exam, being able to chain his various abilities in order to stay in the air despite lacking any means of flight. During the Silver Rank Exam he is stated by Kyoichiro to have learned Stepping on Flowers well, even though he initially only had a poor imitation and did not have someone to train him in the art. Inferring it was entirely self taught. Smart enough to take advantage of the arrival of the Sakuranbos weakening the ground with their landing by tunneling under them to reach Momo on the fly, which Kyoichiro didn't predict him doing. Can fight in tandem with Kengo, who is an infiltration and information-based spy who has been training since he was 4 years old and has been trained by not only the world renowned Yozakura family but the Gold-Rank Spy Hulang, who has hundreds of successful students she personally trained.

Often hesitates to make a first move, waiting to see what the enemy does first, along with often not using lethal attacks early on in battles. His imitation of stepping on flowers at this point strains his bones, so he cannot use it much; otherwise, it'll do long-term damage to his lower body

Standard Someinine Weaknesses. When using his Half-Blooming, if it is left active for too long, it overloads his brain and sends pains across his entire body, which can only be remedied by bloodletting (a process that releases excess blood from the body by slashing oneself) or disabling his Blooming completely. His Amaterasu is only usable once in a fight. Is vulnerable to excessive information flooding his brain and making him go into a berserk mode where he loses precision in his attacks the longer he remains in Blooming

Standard Someinine Weaknesses. Has overcome his weakness of hesitation as well as not having the same limitation with Stepping on Flowers; however, profuse blooming drains Taiyo's stamina very quickly while limiting his agility. As it is generally painful to use, making him stiff in combat. Amaterasu is only usable once per fight. When using Amaterasu on top of Profuse Blooming, he will immediately revert to base form after landing the attack and will be exhausted, since the Profuse Blooming Amaterasu is him releasing all of his energy in one go

Standard Someinine Weaknesses. Amaterasu is only usable once per fight. The Profuse Blooming Amaterasu will exhaust him once it is used. Otherwise, the limitaitons of profuse Blooming have now been minimized.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

Blooming (開かい花か, Kaika) is an ability created when the Someinine in the Yozakura's blood strengthens the body to its limits. With each ability being unique to each user’s personality or beliefs. The Someinine in the Yozakura Blood strengthens the body to its ultimate limits, becoming a trump card for those given the Yozakura Blood. For Taiyo, this ability is defensive, named Hardening. Hardening (硬こう化か, Kōka): Taiyo is able to solidify parts of his body and soften his joints to absorb the impact of attacks. This renders him incredibly resilient to injury. Where bullets flatten against his skin and even powerful explosions leave him completely unharmed. Profuse Blooming of 10000 Flowers (万ばん花か繚りょう乱らん, Banka Ryōran) is different from regular Blooming, which uses Somenine to stimulate the user's cells but rather turns the body into high-energy crystalized Somenine, effectively converting the user into a source of power. Although it is a product of Tsubomi's blood, one can't control it without Tsubomi's help unless one can increase the concentration of Tsubomi's blood in their body. With Profuse Blooming one also feels a direct link with their weapon while increasing their weapon's energy output.
