The TIE Defender, officially designated the TIE/D Defender, was a hyper advanced TIE line heavy starfighter developed by Sienar Fleet Systems late during the reign of the Galactic Empire. Equipped with a tough hull, heavy laser cannons, powerful deflector shielding, a Class 2 hyperdrive, even a flexible multi-purpose warhead launcher, the TIE Defender was widely regarded as the most advanced and the deadliest starfighter of its era and perhaps more versatile than even the legendary T-65 series X-wing.
Powers and Stats
Tier: At least 7-C with laser cannons. 7-A with missiles/torpedoes
Name: TIE/D Defender
Origin: Star Wars
Classification: Multi-role starfighter (space superiority starfighter and strike fighter)
Users: Galactic Empire (Imperial Navy)
Length: 9.2 metres
Material: Quadanium steel and Titanium alloy fuselage
Needed prerequisite for use: One trained pilot
Terrain: Space, Atmosphere
Attack Potency: At least Town level+ with laser cannons (Equipped with the L-s9.3, which are considered heavy variants of laser cannons employed by standard TIE Fighters. Capable of taking out a fully shielded T-65B X-wing or Y-wing as well as transports as durable as the Kom'rk-class Fighter with a single burst). Mountain level with concussions missiles and proton torpedoes (More powerful than the missiles used in the Clone Wars era Umbaran long range capital defence turrets, which have yields of 100 Megatons each, and potentially up to 800 Petajoules. A barrage of these can severely damage the unshielded hulls of capital ships and orbital stations with at least this level of durability)
Speed: Supersonic atmospheric speed (1,680+ km/hr). Can accelerate continuously to Sub-Relativistic+ speeds in space (The swiftest starfighter of the era. Should be more than capable of not only matching but outdoing the realspace speeds of the likes of the Carrion Spike and Millennium Falcon). Massively FTL+ travel via hyperspace (Equipped with a Class 2 hyperdrive. Should thus be this fast)
Durability: At least Large Building level+, likely much higher without deflector shields (Build includes titanium alloy armor as well as a layer of Quadanium steel plating, a material normally reserved for capital ship and battle station heavy batteries. Should thus be significantly more durable than something like the AT-DP walker). At least Town level+ with deflector shields (Equipped with more powerful deflector shields than any other starfighter of the era, including the likes of of the TIE Advanced x1 line)
Range: Several kilometres with laser cannons, dozens of kilometres with missiles/torpedoes.
Weaknesses: Nothing notable.
