| “ | That is where you've always been wrong about me, Lex! I'm as human as anyone! I love, I-I get scared. I wake up every morning and despite not knowing what to do, I put one foot in front of the other and I try to make the best choice as I can. I screw up all the time, but that is being human! And that's my greatest strength. And some day, I hope for the sake of the world, you understand that it's yours too. | „ |
| ~ Superman to Lex Luthor |
Summary[]
Superman (Kal-El / Clark Kent) is the last son of Krypton and the adoptive son of Kansas farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent. After embracing his alien heritage, he safeguards Metropolis as the planet's most powerful superhero while living incognito as a Daily Planet reporter. Three years into his career, during the Boravian Crisis, he becomes both savior and pariah due to halting Boravia's U.S. backed assault on Jarhanpur which was plotted by the billionaire rival Lex Luthor, who unleashes a super clone dubbed the "Hammer of Boravia" and forges public doubt about Superman's true purpose on Earth.
Bruised in body and spirit, Superman retreats to the Fortress of Solitude, only to be further undermined when Luthor abducts his companion Krypto, exposes Kryptonian orders of conquest and confines him to a collapsing pocket dimension. Yet even when he is stripped of his powers and publicly vilified, Superman clings to the unwavering conviction that it is one's choices, rather than one's birthright, that ultimately define a person's identity. With aid from Lois Lane, Mister Terrific and fellow captive Metamorpho, he escapes, rescues Metropolis from a reality rending black hole and defeats his own clone Ultraman without taking a life. Exposing Luthor's conspiracy restores public faith and lands the mogul in Belle Reve, while Superman returns to the Fortress to heal, contentedly watching childhood memories, affirming that the hero's greatest strength lies not in Kryptonian might, but in unwavering humanity and the will to do good.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: 8-B, possibly 8-A
Name: Kal-El, Clark Kent, Superman
Origin: DC Universe
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Classification: Kryptonian, Metahuman, Reporter, Superhero
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics
- Flight
- Limited Space Survival (Kryptonians can operate unprotected in space and remain unaffected by its hazards, although they cannot breathe in a vacuum[1])
- Non-Standard Breathing (Type 2; Can breathe in the upper atmosphere near space without difficulty and can hold his breath for up to an hour[1])
- Enhanced Senses (Vision [Infrared, Telescopic, and X-Ray], Hearing and Smell; Possesses telescopic, infrared, and x-ray capabilities, as shown when he viewed inside a Kaiju[1]. He can hear and differentiate every sound on Earth as distinct frequencies and even possesses an enhanced sense of smell[1])
- Regeneration (High-Low over time; Healed severe ocular burns within several minutes[1]. With sufficient exposure to concentrated sunlight, his healing accelerates dramatically, repairing multiple bone fractures and organ damage[1])
- Expert Martial Artist (Routinely defeats seasoned combatants and trained soldiers, even while weakened by Kryptonite by out-skilling groups of enemies[1])
- Air Manipulation & Breath Attack (Can exhale massive gusts of wind comparable to typhoons, used to blow himself and others away from a black hole[1])
- Energy Projection & Heat Manipulation (Fires red heat-vision beams hot enough to melt the Raptor's armor[1])
- Underground Mobility (Tunneled underground after being stomped by a Kaiju[1])
- Sound Manipulation (Able to make loud whistling sounds to summon Krypto[1])
- Limited Perception Manipulation (While posing as Clark Kent he uses Hypno-Glasses, which hypnotize observers into perceiving Clark and Superman as two distinct individuals by projecting a false image[1])
Resistance to:
- Extreme Temperatures (3871 °C; Survived atmospheric re-entry from orbit[1] and is unaffected by arctic cold.[1] Withstood Ultraman’s heat vision[1])
- Fire Manipulation (Completely unfazed by a Kaiju's flames[1])
- Antimatter Manipulation (Survived prolonged exposure to an anti-proton river stated to tear normal beings apart within seconds[1])
- Radiation Manipulation (Endures the radiation levels present in space while being on the moon, 50–2000 mSv without harm[1])
- Poison Manipulation (A Kryptonian's enhanced metabolism prevents intoxication under a yellow sun[1])
Attack Potency: City Block level+ (Stated to be the most powerful metahuman of them all.[1] Fought with Ultraman, his physical superior, trading blows with him and even snapping his hand.[1] Caught and lifted a falling skyscraper, smashed a water tower into a Kaiju with ease, and staggered the Kaiju with his strikes[1][Statistics Values 1]), possibly Multi-City Block level (As the most powerful metahuman,[1] he would be more powerful than Blue Beetle[Note 1][Statistics Values 2])
Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Flew to the moon at these speeds,[1] and could fight with the Engineer and Ultraman, who could keep pace with that speed.[1] Dodged Ultraman's heat vision[Statistics Values 3])
Lifting Strength: Class G (Caught a falling skyscraper,[1] and supported the weight of a Kaiju.[1] Swung a water tower with enough force to obliterate it[1][Statistics Values 4])
Striking Strength: City Block level+, possibly Multi-City Block level[Statistics Values 5]
Durability: City Block level+, possibly Multi-City Block level (Withstood the force of flying from Metropolis to Antarctica and crashing into the ground at full speed[1]. Withstood a Kaiju's stomp and tanked that Kaiju's flames, which are shown to be this powerful[1][Statistics Values 5])
Stamina: Superhuman (Fought Ultraman for about three hours until he was eventually overpowered, and later rematched him alongside the Engineer continuously for an extended period of time, maintaining combat even after his oxygen was depleted and the Engineer's nanites had begun to disrupt his brain functions.[1] While weakened by Kryptonite poisoning and lack of a yellow sun, fought multiple Raptors while in an anti-proton river[1])
Range: Standard Melee Range; Tens of Meters with Super Breath; Hundreds of Meters with Heat Vision
Standard Equipment: None
- Optional Equipment:
- Hypno-Glasses: Seemingly ordinary glasses worn by Kal-El when posing as Clark Kent. When worn, observers will be hypnotized into viewing Clark Kent as appearing physically different from Superman.
- Can Summon: Krypto the Superdog
Intelligence: Gifted (Is a very notable journalist, writing several front page stories for the Daily Planet, a highly respected news publisher.[1] Throughout his three years of experience as a superhero, has been shown to be a highly skilled fighter normally, and while weakened was able to outskill many Raptor platoons at once,[1] and uses his environments and abilities in creative ways to defeat opponents and save lives on a regular basis)
Standard Tactics: Superman fights so precisely that he can strike only his target while making sure everyone nearby stays safe. He first scans the entire area with X-ray, infrared and microscopic vision to locate hostiles and weak points in the terrain, then removes by standers before engaging the opponent. Once the field is clear, he tries a non-lethal disable, heat-vision spot blasts to critical tech, super breath to pin limbs or redirecting the foe into open sky or empty area.[1] If brute force becomes unavoidable, he weaponises the environment swinging structures such as water towers to pressure opponents and uses sheer speed and quick fake outs to end the fight with one decisive blow.[1] Throughout, he constantly meters his strength to avoid lethal collateral damage and when injured, seeks direct sunlight mid battle to jump start his regeneration, buying seconds of recovery before re-engaging.[1]
Weaknesses: Kryptonite and Red Sun radiation leaves him in a weakened, depowered state. His X-Ray vision cannot see through lead.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Heat Vision: Superman focuses stored solar energy through his optic nerves to fire beams of intense heat that can melt steel or knock back opponents.
- Super Breath: By exhaling moisture laden air super cooled in his lungs, Superman pushes targets in front of him or himself backwards far away, also capable of stopping fires.
- Flight: Can propel himself at varying speeds within the air.

Notes/Explanations[]
- ↑ Although Superman being stated as the most powerful metahuman would put him above Blue Beetle, this is only listed as a ‘possibly’ rating due to the unclear canon connection between the DCEU and DCU. Please see the verse page for more information.
