Summary
The Spitter is a special infected that first appears during the events of Left 4 Dead 2. Their mutation has left them with elongated necks, sagging bellies, and corroded lips from the build up of stomach acid within them. They are able to regurgitate globs of highly corrosive acid across long distances, serving as a dangerous long-range threat to the Survivors.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Acid-Spewing: Spitters are, in the words of the Survivors, able to shoot a glob "spitter-goo" across long distances due to their mutation, slowly coating any flat surface the glob lands on. This acid is highly corrosive, heavily damaging the Survivors if they so much as stand in it for too long. However, it is eventually neutralized upon coming into contact with the air, rendering the surface safe to cross again in time. In addition, should the Spitter be killed, the deadly contents of her midsection will leak into her surroundings, which provides a final opportunity to deal heavy damage to their killers.
