Summary

Sonic the Hedgehog is a video game franchise created and owned by Sega's Sonic Team division that began its legacy in 1991, during the 16-bit era of the gaming industry. The franchise centres on a series of speed-based platform games, with several spin-offs in different genres. The protagonist of the series is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog named Sonic the Hedgehog, a carefree adventurer who doesn't tolerate injustice and always helps those in need. His peaceful life is often interrupted by the series' main antagonist, Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. However, there are far more threats in the world than simply one mad scientist. One thing is for certain; no matter the circumstance, Sonic, and his friends, will give it their all to protect their home.

What was once simply a video game series has since become a journey spanning across media; the tale of Sonic and his adventures not only inhabit a myriad of consoles, but persist through the IDW Publishing's Sonic the Hedgehog comics and Man of Action Entertainment's Sonic Prime show. In fact, the universe's rich history is very expandable to the point of having a rather spontaneous continuity. For this reason, we have divided the Sonic Universe into multiple “eras” for a more concise look into the timeline.

Power-Wise: The power of Sonic's verse ranges wildly depending upon the Era;

• Badniks and other weaker characters are Wall level. Even unaided by his wide assortment of technology, Dr. Eggman displays an attack potency of at least Building level during the Modern Era.
• The Classic Era characters scale to High 5-A (160,62318833674365 Ronnatons) off two feats; Classic Sonic breaking the chain holding back Little Planet, and the Death Egg Robot being a planet destroying "doomsday machine" despite the Earth being this durable.
• The Adventure Era starts with a rating of 4-B (30.1148117155 Foe) via scaling to Chaos 4. The cast shortly after continues to grow in power (240.918493724 Foe to 30.8375671967 KiloFoe) before eventually peaking at 3-C (59.56667 ZettaFoe) from Emerl capturing the power of the 4-A Final Egg Blaster (465.36463 ExaFoe) and multiplying it tremendously with the 7 Chaos Emeralds.
• The Modern Era has the main characters start out at High 3-A, being able to defeat the Babylon Guardian. By Sonic and the Secret Rings, the characters breach into 2-C (2 Universes) from Erazor Djinn before reaching higher into 2-C (12 Universes) by Base Sonic defeating the Nega Wisp Armor in Sonic Colors and the Egg Dragoon in Sonic Generations.
• Several Low Multiverse level, Low Complex Multiverse level and Complex Multiverse level threats appear in the forms of the Phantom Ruby, Paradox Prism, Time Eater, Egg Salamander, the Egg Wizard with the Power of the Stars, Solaris, The End, and Super Forms at their strongest. There is also a lot to tell about speed; even the slowest anthropomorphic characters are FTL, with many prominent characters being Massively FTL+ or even Infinite. Only the strongest characters reach Immeasurable speed, such as Super Forms and the Titaans.

Hax-wise: This verse also has various powers within it, such as Sonic and Shadow using Chaos Control to freeze time or teleport, every skilled Chaos Emerald user like Blaze being able to seal away opponents like Iblis, Emerl and Metal Sonic being able to copy an opponent's abilities by mere observation, Time Eater being able to freely slow down or travel through time, and Alf Layla wa-Layla and Darkspine Sonic being capable of warping reality with a wave of the hand. Color Powers (which most characters can use) can grant several abilities, such as Intangibility, Void Manipulation, and Absorption. Super Forms are invulnerable, acausal, and can cause destruction on a conceptual and informational level.
