Summary
Smilodon or the Saber-Toothed Cat, is an extinct genus of saber-toothed cat that inhabited North and South America during the Ice Age. Smilodon is often erroneously called the Saber-Toothed Tiger. In reality, the Smilodon genus is very distantly related to the Panthera genus, which is the genus that the tiger belongs to.
Powers and Stats
Tier: 9-B, higher via piercing damage
Name: Smilodon populator, Smilodon fatalis, Smilodon gracilis
Origin: The Real World
Gender: Varies
Age: Varies, estimated 20 to 40 year lifespan
Classification: Saber-toothed cat, Machairodontinae, Smilodontini
Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Natural Weaponry (Teeth and claws), Enhanced Senses
Attack Potency: Wall level (Hunted woolly mammoths in packs and can take down Giant Bison with their massive muscled forelimbs), higher via piercing damage (Had a bite force of 333 psi or around 1000 Newtons, about a third of a lion's. This is reasonably low, but this is because the saber-teeth would break if so much force was applied to them. Hunts prey by severing their spine or throat with its sharp teeth)
Speed: Peak Human to Superhuman (Could run at speeds around 25-30 mph)
Lifting Strength: Possibly Class 5 (Could support its own 160 to 280 kg body weight and took down giant ice age bison or toppled mammoths, had massively powerful muscled forearms that would've likely been able to throw around this weight)
Striking Strength: Wall level (Could harm Giant Bison and young Mammoths)
Durability: Wall level (Could survive attacks from other Smilodons or large herbivores)
Stamina: Unknown
Range: Standard Melee Range
Standard Equipment: None notable
Intelligence: Animalistic, yet capable predators. Likely as intelligent as other big cats, especially if popular theories of Smilodons being pack hunters are confirmed.
Weaknesses: Could not use teeth effectively in combat due to them breaking easily. Additionally, Smilodon's bulk and musculature would have made it far less agile and fast as modern day Big Cats and would very likely need an ambush advantage.
