Summary

Silver the Hedgehog (シルバー・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Shirubā za Hejjihoggu?) is the optimistic time traveller from the future in the video game series, Sonic the Hedgehog.

He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog hailing from at least two hundred years into the future where his role is to protect his time by changing the catastrophes of the past, thus preventing the ruining of his era. To aid him, Silver makes use of his psychokinesis, an ability from his time that is considered the norm, which allows him to move objects with the power of his mind.

Silver is a kind-hearted and well-meaning individual, driven by a strong sense of justice to right the wrongs of the past to uphold peace, though he is somewhat naïve and immature. Despite the monumental tasks he may have on hand, he is an optimist and will do whatever is required to protect the world.

All of his previous innate abilities on a massively enhanced scale, plus;

Resistance to:

Greater Resistance to:

Attack Potency: High Universe level (Had been consistently defeating Iblis alongside Blaze,[54] who is a threat to Sonic and Shadow. Was implied to be almost as powerful as Modern Shadow, stalemating in their first fight until Shadow used Chaos Control.[7] Can harm other Extreme Gear racers[55]) to Low Multiverse level (Comparable to Sir Galahad, who can directly combat Sonic and other Knights of the Round Table.[56] Possibly hinted to have defeated Sonic Doppelgangers.[57] Comparable to the likes of Modern Sonic, Shadow, and other members of the Resistance, who could defeat Phantom Ruby clones of Zavok, Shadow, Modern Metal Sonic, and Modern Chaos Zero. Destroyed various Badniks alongside his friends.[58][59] Superior to Whisper[Statistics Values 1]), higher with Boost | Varies (Powered by the seven Chaos Emeralds, which possess immense chaotic energies with fluctuating power levels,[60] with Silver able to harness varying levels of chaos energy). Low Multiverse level (Comparable to Classic Super Sonic, who destroyed the Phantom King) to Complex Multiverse level (Alongside Modern Super Sonic and Modern Super Shadow, he managed to harm and eventually defeat Solaris[Statistics Values 2]), higher with Boost

Speed: Massively FTL+ (Kept up with a casual Modern Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Can keep with Modern Sonic, although he is somewhat slower) to Infinite (Able to keep up with Sonic for a few seconds on foot before falling behind. Could dodge attacks from and tag Dr. Eggman's Eggmobile. Caught Modern Metal Sonic and flung him away[10]), higher with his Psychokinesis (His power is hard to outmaneuver even for the likes of Sonic. When flying, he can race Sonic evenly during Generations. Flew at an even pace with Infinite for a brief time), even higher with the Spin Dash (Silver can utilize the Spin Dash[1] a technique that allowed Sonic, Tails Nine, and Renegade Knucks to blitz a group of Eggforcers that were initially blitzing them[61]), far higher with Boost (The Boost is a technique that enhances his speed by nearly 8x) | Varies (Powered by the seven Chaos Emeralds, which possess immense chaotic energies with fluctuating power levels,[62] with Silver able to harness varying levels of positive energy); Infinite (Faster than Darkspine Sonic, as he is empowered by the Chaos Emeralds, which are superior to the World Rings), up to Immeasurable at his peak (Able to outpace laser attacks that stem from Solaris' body and whose attacks are shown to be throughout all of time itself due to them appearing in the past, present, and future alike. Comparable to Modern Super Sonic, who is capable of attacking Solaris faster than it can even cross its arms to defend itself), higher with the Spin Dash and Boost

Lifting Strength: Class M physically (Comparable to Modern Metal Sonic, who at his weakest and considered in no shape to fight after being somewhat repaired by Modern Tails, was still capable of breaking the chains that were used to restrain it.[63] Can move a rock cube on his own). Multi-Stellar with Psychokinesis (Comparable to Modern Sonic, who is on par with- if not superior to- his Werehog self that grappled the Egg Dragoon. Can almost completely immobilize Sonic in his Psychokinetic grip. Held down Zavok with his Psychokinesis, albeit it required the majority of his attention[64]) | At least Multi-Stellar (Super Silver's strength is far superior to his Base form[Statistics Values 3]) to Immeasurable (Powered by the Chaos Emeralds, which are superior to the World Rings used to empower Darkspine Sonic), higher with Psychokinesis (Was capable of stopping projectiles hurled by Solaris’s Eyes and throw them back at him with enough force to damage him and shatter his armor)

Striking Strength: High Universe level (Can harm the likes of Iblis and Ifrit. Can trade blows with Modern Sonic and Modern Shadow during his first encounter with each.[54][7]) to Low Multiverse level (Can harm Sonic with his psychokinetic energy.[57] Comparable to Sonic and other members of the Resistance, who can strike down Phantom Ruby clones with one strike) | Varies. Low Multiverse level to Complex Multiverse level[Statistics Values 2]

Durability: High Universe level (Can take attacks from Iblis and Ifrit) to Low Multiverse level (Can take hits from Modern Sonic and Modern Shadow), higher with Psychokinesis (Can create barriers of light) and Boost. Up to Complex Multiverse level Damage Transferal with Rings (Having enough Rings shields damage from those as strong as Void and Tethered Supreme[20]) | Varies. Low Multiverse level to Complex Multiverse level, higher with Boost (Invulnerability makes it difficult to even harm him through conventional means[Statistics Values 2])

Stamina: Superhuman (Was able to fight Modern Shadow and not get too tired and has fought Iblis several times in his future no matter how many times he keeps coming back) | Infinite (Super Silver is powered by the Chaos Emeralds)

Range: Standard Melee Range; Hundreds of Meters to Kilometres with Psychokinesis, Up to Low Complex Multiversal with Chaos Control (6-D Potency. Chaos Control can halt time in White Space[65] despite it repeatedly being stated that all of space-time was erased, including realms such as Cyber Space and Maginaryworld. Shadow intended to freeze the moment in time where Maria and Gerald were being restored to the timeline in order to prevent it[66]) | Standard Melee Range; Up to Complex Multiverse level with abilities (Able to affect Solaris, who Dr. Eggman twice states is an extra-dimensional lifeform that would make it superior to the likes of Illumina and Void. Can halt time in White Space, as Shadow intended to freeze the moment in time where Maria and Gerald were being restored to the timeline to prevent it, despite it repeatedly being stated that all of space-time was erased[Statistics Values 2])

Standard Equipment: None | The Chaos Emeralds

  • Optional Equipment: Rings (maximum of 999), Chaos Emerald (takes the form of a pendant), Item Boxes, Power Bracelet, Heart of Wind, Shock Bracelet, Extreme Gears, Lightron, Vehicles (Extreme Gear, Tornado, Dark Rider, etc.), Infinite Magnet, Red Star Rings, Pets/Friends/Fast Friends (Chao, Animals, Koco, certain Wisps, Black Doom's Eye, etc.), Trails

Intelligence:

Gifted (Could see through Dr. Eggman Nega's disguised, being complimented by him as being "very perceptive". Skilled with his telekinesis, as he has used it time and time again to solve various puzzles and create pathways for himself)

Extraordinary Genius (Silver is a combat pragmatist and will use his own abilities and whatever resources are available to guarantee a victory, being described as a smart fighter when compared to Sonic and Shadow. He has learned Chaos Control just from seeing it in action once by Shadow the Hedgehog much to his shock, similar to Sonic's own first attempt at the technique. His performance on a training course left a Soleannan Guard astonished, causing the latter to beg the young time traveler to become a guard of Soleanna. Instinctively fought with perfect coordination with Blaze, who he had no memories of at the time)

Weaknesses: Silver can be rather naïve at times, and overusing his telekinesis fatigues him. | None notable

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Psychokinesis: The primary application of his powers, Silver picks up nearby objects and throws them as projectiles to bombard an opponent from a distance. Should his opponent get close he can also target them directly and throw them back to force his foe to play catch-up. He can also use this ability on himself to simulate flight and can move at speeds comparable to Sonic and Shadow.
    • Psycho Smash: One of his signature attacks, Silver charges up psychic energy in his body before releasing a powerful burst of psychokinetic power that knocks foes far away. Those caught in its path are paralyzed and flung helplessly across a distance proportional to the time spent charging. Silver can also condense this energy into his hand to smack at an opponent at close range.
    • Psychic Knife: Flings a wave of psychokinetic energy that emits electrical charges, paralyzing foes on contact.
    • Psycho Shock: Silver jumps into the air and charges psychokinetic energy in his hand. Once he lands, he places the palm of his hand onto the ground and releases a psychokinetic shockwave that paralyzes nearby enemies and knocks away their projectiles from him.
    • Teleport Dash: The Teleport Dash is a psychic jump that warps space, allowing Silver to move quickly “through” an enemy or an enemy attack and avoid damage. This is a good move to use when facing multiple enemies that you must get close enough to use PK against them.
    • ESP/Psychic Control: Silver places both hands on his forehead, charging up energy before releasing in it a massive dome that induces vertigo on all opponents, rendering them incapable of moving properly and allowing Silver to zip past them or pummel them without retaliation.
    • Levitate: Silver uses his psychokinesis to move his own body through mid-air, granting him the ability of flight. When flying, Silver can move himself at extreme speeds, nearing those that Sonic can run at.
    • Teleport Dash: Silver jumps mid-air and uses his psychokinesis to warp space, allowing him to teleport through the air at light speed.
    • Meteor Smash: Silver uses his psychokinesis to pick up various debris and mashes them into a giant ball many times his own size. Silver then tosses the ball at his enemies as it tumbles along the ground. However, it will fall apart to pieces once Silver loses his concentration.
  • Spin Attack: Like Sonic and Shadow, Silver can quickly curl up into a ball and spin while moving to attack opponents and mow down obstacles.
    • Spin Jump: Silver leaps into the air and proceeds to perform a Spin Attack, a technique that allows Silver to attack a foe in quick succession, hit objects in a return-to-sender fashion, and deter charging opponents.
      • Double Jump: After Silver performs a Spin Jump, he quickly follows up with a second Spin Jump to reach up to higher grounds.
    • Spin Dash: Silver curls up into a ball as he normally does but spins in place to build up speed for ramming a target at extremely high speeds.
      • Homing Attack: An aerial version of the Spin Dash that homes in on its target.
      • Drop Dash: Silver stores up momentum while in mid-air and curls into a ball as he drops down to the ground, upon where he will instantly initiate a Spin Dash and rocket in the desired direction.
  • Boost: Upon hitting his top velocity, Silver is surrounded by an aura that distorts space and allows him to barrel through enemies without fear of reprisal.
    • Air Boost: An airborne variation of the Boost, used to increase the Silver's speed in mid-air and soar through the sky.
  • Slide: Sonic falls back while running and slides along the ground with his feet in front of him.
  • Trick Action: While Silver is in mid-air, he can perform a series of stunts which can charge up his Boost or gain extra height.
  • Chaos Control: Silver uses Chaos Energy to control the fabric of time and space. He can use this to teleport himself as well as other people and objects, manipulate time by slowing or stopping it, inter-dimensional travel, and time travel. The magnitude of this power depends on the amount of Chaos Emeralds Silver has with him.

Sonic Speed Simulator:

Pets: Also referred to as Friends, these creatures will hover closely behind their wielder that typically focus on granting benefits on several stats[5];

  • Experience (The amount of experience gained when defeating an opponent)
  • Rings (the amount of Rings gained per a single Ring)
  • Damage (the amount of damage dealt to bosses and powerful enemies).
  • Stamina (The amount of energy consumed when Boosting)
  • Air (The amount of time possible to spend underwater without air)
  • Luck (Non-Combat Applicable).

Up to 3-5 Pets can be equipped at a single time, stacking the benefits from each.

For a full reference of different Pets and their impact, see here.

Trails: Trails are equippable items that range from Level 1 to Level 25 at maximum. They typically focus on increasing three statistics, but different Trails offer benefits that include other statistics. Like Pets, these include altering;

  • Experience
  • Rings
  • Damage
  • Stamina
  • Air

Unlike Pets, only one trail can be equipped at any given time.

For a full reference of Trails and their impact, see here.

Color Powers:

  • Cyan Laser: Using the power of a Cyan Wisp, Silver transforms into a cyan laser beam. As the Cyan Laser, Silver gains the same properties as that of a real laser, allowing him to move as a living beam of light. When hitting any surfaces as the Cyan Laser, Silver can also bounce off them as if they were a reflective surface.
  • Indigo Asteroid: Using the power of an Indigo Wisp, Silver turns into an orb-shaped body with striped, indigo skin and a matching planetary ring encircling his middle. As the Indigo Asteroid, Silver essentially becomes a miniature planet with a strong gravitational field. Silver is as such capable of creating a powerful gravitational pull around himself, strong enough to tear all kinds of objects to pieces and pull them into the Asteroid Ring. Additionally, the gathered matter can be used to empower the gravitational pull. The Indigo Asteroid also grants Silver the ability to levitate through mid-air.
  • Yellow Drill: Using the power of a Yellow Wisp Silver turns into a yellow spiral drill. As the Yellow Drill, Silver can burrow and tunnel underground at remarkably high speeds and can be applied underwater, allowing Silver to move through the water like a living torpedo.
  • Jade Ghost: As the Jade Ghost, Silver is able to turn himself invisible and enables him to move around without being visibly detected by opponents. The Jade Ghost also makes him intangible, thus allowing him to pass through obstacles and avoid unwanted attacks. In addition, the Jade Ghost allows Sonic to hover slightly above ground when using its power. It can even render Silver intangible to those with Non-Physical Interaction.

Super Silver:

  • Shield of Light: When performing this move, Super Silver uses his natural psychokinesis to form a large green shield of energy in front of him, which will grab any thrown projectiles that enter its radius. Once caught, Super Silver can then throw the projectile back at his foe with relative force.
  • Super Sonic Boost: Super Silver surrounds himself in a golden aura of Chaos Energy before ramming the target with incredible speed, resulting in a rather devastating impact.
  • Turbo Boost: Super Silver surrounds himself in a brilliant golden aura that amplifies his speed. This can be used for extensive maneuverability or deployed in short bursts to evade attacks.

Notes/Explanations

Note
  1. Rebirths are canonical, as Dr. Eggman accidentally rebirthed the entire timeline by using Rebirth Energy.
  2. The Possibly rating indicates the possibility of the Wisp bestowing their abilities upon the user, and not the abilities themselves being categorized as a possibility. As such, this extends to all Wisp pets from Sonic Speed Sim.
  3. Despite gameplay containing a certain character, this is universally true of all playable characters in Sonic Speed Simulator.
  4. This Sonic Channel story is linked to Windii's translation. For the official script, see here.
Statistics Values
  1. By scaling to his counterpart in Sonic and the Secret Rings, Silver begins scaling to 2 Universes. By Sonic Generations, Silver scales to 12 Universes.
  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 2.3 6-D
  3. >3.67916 Decillion Metric Tons (Scaling 128x above the value Base character scale to.)
  • Whether or not this is true, it's possible Silver can utilize all of the wisps due to him being in Team Sonic Racing where all the wisps (Including a wisp named Jade Ghost) are present and can be used as items to help one's team get ahead in the race.
  • The topic of Invulnerability for Super Forms was discussed and agreed upon within a recent CRT (September 2021). Look to the notes on the verse page for further info.
