Summary
Eobard Thawne, also known as Professor Zoom, is the archenemy of Barry Allen. Born in the 25th century, Thawne became resentful towards the world after he witnessed his father inexplicably murder his mother. After being struck by a mysterious bolt of lightning he gained the power to slow down time around him which he used, combined with his resentment, to conquer the Gem Cities, however even with to threat of death lying at the citizens of the cities, they refused to give in, in the name of their hero and idol: The Flash. Infuriated by this, Zoom would travel back in time to recruit allies with distinct Speed Force-derived abilities to slowly break down and poison the legacy of Barry Allen.
