Well, that's just Prime
What Prime had... what made him great, it wasn't that he was so strong — even though he was — it was that he could talk... and what he said, it made you feel as strong as he was.
~ Ironhide, about Optimus Prime[1]

TrueOrionRender
My friend's name was Megatron, and he had three questions! Three he said you should demand to know of any powerful instituition!

Question One: In whose interest do you exercise your power?

Question Two: To whom are you accountable?

And Three: How can we get rid of you?!

~ Orion Pax speaking out against the senate[2]

Summary

Born as Orion Pax, the Cybertronian eventually known as Optimus Prime would rise slowly but surely to fame–first as a law officer unafraid to stand up for justice, then as a great and powerful military leader who held the line against Megatron's Decepticons on Cybertron and across the galaxy. As the first legitimate Prime in many ages, heir to the Matrix of Leadership, Optimus Prime is revered by many and reviled by some, but always a powerful presence, in or out of battle.

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Transformation (Into a truck), Vehicular Mastery, Large Size (Type 0. 38 feet tall[5]), Immortality (Type 1; Cybertronians can live forever[6], 2; Cybertronians consistently shrug off wounds that should be deadly, such as bisection or even worse[7]. Cybertronians are stated to be exceptionally hard to kill and can survive many crazy events[8], and 6; can store his consciousness in his trailer while inactive[9]), Martial Arts (Knows dozens of fighting styles and can defeat the greatest Martial Arts masters such as Bludgeon[10], Megatron and Galvatron. Galvatron can consistently match Arcee in combat, who herself has mastered every from of Cybertronian weaponry[5]. Optimus could easily outmatch Buldgeon, who in turn outmatched Skids[11], a Theoretician able to learn new skills and moves in just a glance[12][13]. Knows how to disarm a person in six ways[14]. Rode the corpse of his dead friend into battle while backed to a corner[2]. Even early on in his life, Optimus could single-handedly take down the entirety of the Cybertronian senate[2]), Information Analysis (All Cybertronians possess information analysis in their vision[15]), Adaptation (Cybertronians are able to scan new vehicles or alternate modes to adapt to their new surroundings), Inorganic Physiology (Type 2), Weapon Mastery (Optimus has been shown to yield a wide variety of weapons, ranging from guns to melee weapons. Was skilled enough to shoot into Megatron's fusion cannon at long range[16]), Dimensional Storage (Can keep his weapons or Trailer in a sub-space storage pocket), Data Manipulation, limited Dimensional Travel and limited Soul Manipulation, Astral Projection (Able to send his own consciousness to his battle deck on the verge of death. Can send his soul and mind to the mysterious region known as Infraspace[9]), Enhanced Senses (Sensed Omega Supreme heading towards him in space[17]. With the Trailer deck, Optimus can detect invisible targets[18]), Air Manipulation and Vibration Manipulation (His fight with Megatron caused shockwaves throughout the city[19]), Explosion Manipulation (With weaponry[16] and Roller[16]), Fire Manipulation (Can create a fiery blade[20]), Summoning (Can summon his Trailer[21] or a Titan through very specific conditions[22]), Supernatural Willpower (Resisted the will of the D-Void[23] through sheer will when many other bots fell victim to it[24]), Limited Healing (Has basic knowledge of medical expertise[25]), Size Manipulation, Fusionism (Optimus can merge with Sunstreaker, Prowl, Ironhide, and Mirage to form Optimus Maximus, a powerful Gestalt[26]), Genius Intelligence, Technology Manipulation, Homing Attack (With Trailer and Roller), Energy Manipulation and Weapon Creation (Can create energy constructs or weapons using his energy, such as axes or blades), Self-Sustenance (Types 1 and 3), Awakened Power (Upon getting his faith restored, Optimus was able to stomp Nova Prime, who previously defeated him with little ease[27]), Flight (With his Jetpack[28]), Energy Projection (With Ion Blaster and various other long ranged weapons), Social Influencing (Is incredibly charismatic and knows how to work a crowd or make people listen to him. Was able to sway many Cybertronians to his side with his speeches), Regeneration (Low-Mid. Was able to heal from internal burns[29]), Acrobatics (Able to climb out of a small crevice, while carrying Ironhide with another arm[30]), Cosmic Awareness and Extrasensory Perception (Was able to sense the presence of Nova Prime, who was in a separate universe at the time[9][17])

Temperature Manipulation (Can resists incredibly harsh temperatures. Should be comparable to other Cybertronians, who can tank re-entry without burning up[31], which would have a 3000 temperature of degrees F. Was able to move in Jupiter's atmosphere, which has an temperature of -238 degrees F[28]. Also should be comparable to Thundercracker, who could survive being near the epicenter of a nuclear explosion[32], with a nuclear explosion being as hot as 100 million degrees celsius), Limited heat durability negation (Could somewhat resist instead being burned from the inside by an infernus bullet[29]), Ice Manipulation and Absolute Zero (Was able to walk through a place with temperatures approaching that of Absolute Zero[33]. Can walk through extremely cold environments[34]. Can easily move around in space[35]) and Acid Manipulation (Casually walked through an acid lake[36]), Magnetism Manipulation (Immune to Magnets), Mind Manipulation (Resisted the control of the D-Void[24][23]), Deconstruction and Corrosion Inducement (Walked through the sea of rust[37]), Antimatter Manipulation (Survived an Antimatter chamber[38]), Electricity Manipulation and Death Manipulation (Resisted attacks from Nova Prime[39]), Biological Manipulation, Disease Manipulation and Poison Manipulation (By virtue of his Cybertronian physiology, should be resistant to attacks related to organic biology. Can survive in Jupiter's poisonous atmosphere[28]), Limited Space-Time Manipulation (While heavily weakened, Optimus was able to survive a space bridge collapsing upon itself. Albeit it caused him to go into stasis[40]), Radiation Manipulation (Capable of surviving Jupiter's atmosphere[28], which contains a radioactive atmosphere of 100 million X-rays), Light Manipulation (Should be comparable to Thundercracker, who could look directly at a nuclear explosion[32])

Attack Potency: Multi-Continent level, likely Moon level+ (Can fight on par with Megatron, who can harm him. Consistently portrayed as one of the most powerful Autobots or Cybertronians[5]. Comparable if not superior to his blaster, which could One-Shot the likes of Soundwave[48]. Harmed and eventually overpowered Sixshot[49], while holding back[50]. After regaining his confidence, he stomped Nova Prime[27]. Killed Galvatron[28]. Punched a hole through Monstructor[17]. Implied to be feared by Shockwave), Multi-Continent level+, likely Moon level+ with his Full Arsenal (With his full arsenal, Optimus was able to hold off Thunderwing for an amount of time, though did not do any major damage[51]). Universe level+ with the Matrix of Leadership (Was able to destroy the D-Void completely[45]). The Matrix of leadership can ignore durability.

Speed: At least Subsonic movement speed (Is described as being really fast for a truck[52]) with Massively FTL+ reaction and combat speed (Can keep up with Sixshot[49]. Was able to blitz Soundwave[48]). At least FTL+ flight speed (Flew to Jupiter alongside Soundwave[28]. Should be far superior to Cosmos, who could do this[53][54])

Lifting Strength: At least Class M (Comparable to Megatron[32]. Should be far superior to Strika, who could stop a weakened Devastator's fist[55]. Could withstand Jupiter's gravity with no difficulty[28])

Striking Strength: Multi-Continent level, likely Moon level+ (Could trade blows with beings as powerful as him)

Durability: Multi-Continent level, likely Moon level+ (Can tank the recoil of his own attacks. Withstood the Toraxxis Mega Refinery Explosion point blank[56][57]. Can withstand blows from the likes of Megatron and Black Shadow[15])

Stamina: Superhuman (Can fight and move, even with extreme injuries, for vast periods of time. Cannot tire physically. Fought the entire Cybertronian elite guard with no rest in between, and still kept going despite gaining many injuries[2])

Range: Several Meters via sheer size. Several Tens of Meters with Shockwaves. At least Several Hundreds of Meters with the Ion Blaster. Universal+ with the Matrix of Leadership

Standard Equipment:

  • Ion Blaster: The ion blaster is a laser rifle and the primary weapon of Optimus Prime. It shoots rather rapidly and can usually one-shot the average Cybertronian.
  • Matrix of Leadership: The Matrix was created by Primus, and passed onto the Knights of Cybertron when they left to explore new worlds. Legend says that they called it the "Creation Matrix" for the life-giving abilities they believed its connection to Vector Sigma granted it. It grants Optimus limited healing and existence erasure, as well as many other abilities.
  • Shoulder mounted blasters: On occasion, Optimus wears arm mounted shoulder cannons in order to boost his firepower.[58]
  • Arm mounted dual barreled blasters: During Optimus' early bodies, he was seen wielding a pair of double barreled arm blasters on each arm.[59]
  • Combat Deck: The combat deck contains an anti aircraft gun, and can be used by Optimus to store his conciousness if needed in a battle. It can be used as a way of communications with other Autobots. The Trailer Deck can also sense invisible targets.[21]
  • Roller: Roller is a miniature car-like device remotely controlled by Optimus himself. It is able to yield the Ion Blaster itself. Roller is mainly used for either recon or scouting missions

Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius (Capable of leading thousands of battlefronts at once[60], Has been able to counter-strategy Megatron for four million years. Is a brilliant strategist that rivals the likes of Prowl. In addition, he has limited knowledge of science and medical expertise. Excelled in intellectual pursuits, graduating from the Institute for Higher Programming and enrolling in the Academy of Science and Technology[61]. He is also a very intelligent investigator and police officer, able to deduce the cause of a Cybertronian's death in a matter of seconds[62] and was captain of the Rodion force[2]. Devised a plan to steal the Matrix from the Senate[12]. Is highly regarded as a leader by the likes of Shockwave[63])

Standard Tactics: While Optimus would rather avoid fighting and choose a more peaceful route, he wouldn't hesitate fighting and defending himself if he needs to. In combat, Optimus often starts out with long range, choosing to attack the enemy with his Ion Blaster and would usually try to aim for vulnerable areas such as the head, in order to end the fight as efficiently as possible. Optimus would then try use close range options, utilizing either his fists or melee weapons for combat. Optimus would also analyze the battlefield around him in order to look for things that maybe to his advantage. Optimus will also use the Matrix of Leadership either as a last resort or in a dire situation.

Weaknesses: Optimus tends to hold back against most enemies, to prevent collateral damage[50]. His pacifism has a tendency to get the better of him, as well as Megatron stating that when Optimus hurts others, he hurts himself, and Megatron claiming he knows Optimus better than anyone, which Optimus seemed to agree with[38].

Notable Attacks/Techniques

  • Energon Melee Constructs: Optimus Prime is able to create melee weapons such as a hand mounted axe and a battle blade out of energy.
  • Shockwave Attacks: Optimus is able to create powerful shockwaves with his strikes, powerful enough to tear apart the surrounding areas.[19]
  • Matrix Of Leadership: The Matrix Of Leadership grants Optimus several abilities such as being able to regenerate from near critical condition, as well as having the ability to create life. It's most notable offensive technique is that it can erase beings from existence, such as the D-Void[45], as well as the fact it can bypass durability, such as when it destroyed the functionists controlling Cybertron, without destroying Cybertron itself[46].
