Welcome to White Space. You have been living here for as long as you can remember.
~ The game's opening

You've caused so much suffering... yet you do nothing. And so you've earned nothing in return. Your friends will never forgive you. They'll abandon you like you did them... and that's what you deserve.
~ Omori in phase 2

You tell yourself that you don't want to burden others... But the truth is that you're selfish. You just don't want people to depend on you. When do you think about others? How long are you going to let people take care of you? You say you care but you're a liar. You've never done anything for anyone else. You're useless... less than useless. You're sick. People like you don't deserve to live. If they know the truth, you'll never be able to regain their trust. No matter what you do, it will be hopeless. All you'll do is make things worse. People like you don't deserve to live.
~ Omori in phase 3

Your friends are wrong about you. The person they love isn't you at all. You let them believe in a lie to protect yourself. You're nothing but a liar... and when they see the truth... They'll hate you as much as you hate yourself. It would be better to just die.
~ Omori in phase 4

You killed MARI. She loved you and you killed her. HERO loved her and you killed her. AUBREY loved her and you killed her. KEL loved her and you killed her. BASIL loved her and you killed her. You loved her and you killed her.
~ Omori in phase 5

You should just die.
~ Omori to Sunny
OMORI will not succumb

I will tell you a story that has been lost through time... a story about the creation of this reality. In the beginning, there only existed two... the DREAMER and his room. The DREAMER grew weary of his room and created a door that led to many different worlds. Walking the path as a visitor to these worlds, the DREAMER would come and go as he pleased. Slips and falls, tumbles and drops... the DREAMER's curiosity and clumsy exploration eventually led him to a certain world. One not like the others... one painted with chaos and bathed in darkness. The DREAMER slowly became filled with dread. Quiet as they may have been, words of malice quietly crept into his mind. Whispering lies, secrets, and truths. Powerless to silence the noise, the DREAMER manifested benevolent entities in his different worlds... Then he compounded his worlds above the dark realm... sealing it with their combined might. Yet despite his valiant efforts, the darkness's presence never abated. Even with new allies, the darkness continued to scrape and scratch at the back of the DREAMER's mind. The noise might have subsided, but it never went away. The DREAMER could run and bury away his fears, but one still has to face his own reflection. What the DREAMER had created was something he could not be a part of, something outside himself. The DREAMER's own power was his greatest adversary. Knowledge... or the absence of it, would become the DREAMER's greatest gift. To truly escape the perils of his own faculty and ascend to a blissful state of ignorance... Only then would the noise cease to agitate the DREAMER's sanity. So... the DREAMER took on another name... and chose to forget himself. From that time on, the DREAMER has lived amongst us... simply as an inhabitant of this world... Traveling along blissfully, ignorant of his own fabrication.
~ The story of the creation of both Headspace and Omori himself

Summary

Omori is the main character of the RPGmaker game of the same name. He's lived in a place known as White Space for as long as he can remember. However, he commonly enters a dream world of sorts, called Headspace, to play with his friends and go on adventures. After a certain incident happens, his best friend Basil disappears. He and the rest of his friends; Kel, Aubrey, Hero and Mari, go on a quest to find him.

Spoilers
In reality, Omori is an Alter-Ego of Sunny, created to protect him from the truth of his actions. To be more specific, after an unknown disagreement that broke his violin, Sunny pushed his sister Mari down the stairs, accidentally killing her. In a panic, he hung her body from a tree with help from Basil to stage it as a suicide. This devastated all of Sunny's friends and possibly caused Sunny's father to leave the family. Omori was the result of Sunny embracing his disbelief of the situation. Sunny eventually became homeschooled and never left his home at all up until three days before he was set to move to a new town, where the player can choose to explore Faraway Town with the real world Kel or stay locked up at home. Omori is an avatar of sorts for Sunny in Headspace, while still being a separate individual.

In the former, called the Sunny Route, Omori does everything possible to prevent Sunny from realizing the truth, that Sunny was the cause of Mari's death. This goes so far as to kill the Headspace version of Basil multiple times to prevent him from sharing the truth with Sunny, and erasing memories of Basil from the rest of Headspace. Eventually, Sunny goes into Headspace separate from Omori, remembering what he did, but also seeing happy memories of his friends. He's interrupted by Omori, who tells him that his friends would never forgive him, and that he should just die. When Omori inevitably defeats Sunny, the player can either choose to continue or not. If Sunny continues, he accepts his guilt and Omori disappears. If not, Sunny's personality disappears, leaving only Omori. Omori then proceeds to take his own life in the real world.

In the latter, called the Hikikomori Route (or simply the Omori Route), Sunny refuses to leave his house in the days leading up to moving away, and making Sunny's encounters with Something even worse. Seeing his original self unable to cope with his fear, Omori decides to "Save" Sunny, absorbing or destroying his personality, and saves Basil in headspace. All is well in Headspace, but "Sunny's" fate in the real world is unknown, either accidentally stabbing himself in his sleep or simply moving away, never saying goodbye to his former friends.

Both Space Ex-Boyfriend and Omori himself note Headspace as being a universe. Daddy Longlegs claims there are multiple "Worlds" created by Sunny that make up the total reality of Headspace. Seemingly capable of performing a "soft reset" of Headspace, such as when Something appears, which makes Headspace completely inaccessible from White Space until it gets re-created by Sunny) | At least City Block level+ physically (Can fight evenly with Pluto). Will also disappear if Sunny accepts his own guilt. However, these aren't applicable to most combat situations. Originally afraid of heights, spiders and drowning, though eventually conquered each fear.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Follow-Up Attacks: Omori is capable of using multiple types of follow-up attacks after an initial strike at the cost of energy, which Omori regains by taking damage. These upgrade as the story progresses. Unlike other party members, Omori's Follow-Up Attacks don't require others to be used, making them combat applicable.
    • ATTACK AGAIN: Omori uses a second attack. This gets upgraded to this second attack being more powerful, and then to using two additional attacks.
    • TRIP: Omori trips his opponent, lowering their speed. This gets upgraded to make them sad, and eventually makes his enemy depressed.
    • RELEASE ENERGY!: Omori's strongest outright attack. Omori and his allies unleash a barrage of rapid attacks on all enemies, dealing massive damage.
  • Skills: Techniques Omori can use that cost JUICE. Omori can only recover JUICE via snacks.
    • SAD POEM: Inflicts SAD on a friend or foe.
    • GUARD: Omori reduces his damage taken for on turn.
    • STAB: An attack that will always be a critical hit, ignoring enemy defense if Omori is SAD.
    • BREAD SLICE: Omori slashes at a foe. If this slash defeats the foe, they drop bread.
    • MOCK: Omori deals damage to an enemy by mocking them. If the enemy is ANGRY, it's attack is significantly lowered. This attack seemingly utilizes Red Hands.
    • HACK AWAY: Omori slashes wildly, attacking three times and hitting random enemies.
    • OBSERVE: Omori predicts who an enemy will attack next.
    • LUCKY SLICE: An extremely quick slash that causes Omori to always act first. Deals more damage if Omori is HAPPY.
    • TRICK: Omori tricks the opponent, misdirecting them. If the enemy is HAPPY, it's speed is significantly lowered. This attack seemingly utilizes Red Hands.
    • PAINFUL TRUTH: Omori whispers something to his enemy, dealing damage and causing both him and his enemy to become SAD.
    • SHUN: Omori shuns his opponent, damaging them. If said opponent is SAD, their defense is significantly lowered. This attack seemingly utilizes Red Hands.
    • STARE: Omori stares at an enemy, reducing their speed, attack and defense.
    • EXPLOIT: Omori exploits his foe's emotions, dealing extra damage if they're SAD, HAPPY or ANGRY. This attack seemingly utilizes Red Hands.
    • FINAL STRIKE: Omori's strongest skill. Omori unleashes a huge barrage of slashes that deal heavier damage the stronger the emotion he is feeling.
    • RED HANDS (Skill): Omori has the Red Hands attack his enemies, dealing huge damage in four hits. Seen only in the Hikikomori Route.
    • VERTIGO: Omori throws his enemies off balance, seemingly utilizing his former fear of heights. This deals large damage to all enemies and greatly lowers their attack. Seen only in the Hikikomori Route.
    • CRIPPLE: Omori cripples his foes, seemingly utilizing his former fear of spiders. This deals large damage to all enemies and greatly lowers their speed. Seen only in the Hikikomori Route.
    • SUFFOCATE: Omori causes his foes to suffocate, seemingly utilizing his former fear of drowning. This ignores the foes' defense by dealing a set amount of damage (specifically 400) to all enemies and greatly lowers their defense. Seen only in the Hikikomori Route.
    • ERASE: Omori erases the enemy. If the enemy survives, their stats can be lowered and they can be given the AFRAID status condition. Seen only in Omori's boss fight.
  • Red Hands: Omori can utilize Red Hands in various ways, such as returning him to White or Black space, creating bridges or attacking his enemies. He may also utilize them in his mental skills like MOCK, judging by the animations. These hands can vary from being tiny to huge, as seen when he created a throne using them and when there were massive ones in the background. They're also called "Hands-Kun" in the game's files.

Note 1: This profile does not include the Omori comics, as they are seemingly separate from the game and lack combat feats.

Note 2: Although Omori can take control of Sunny's body in the real world in some endings and the Hikikomori route, this version of Omori has no differences from Sunny in the real world, even combat tactics. As such, he is not given a separate key.
