Summary
Nameless is a character who debuted in The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match. He is the 9,999th clone of Kyo Kusanagi created by NESTS, and the only survivor of "Project Ж", an experiment meant to produce clones of Kusanagi and normal DNA. Created and raised on a NESTS base on the Martian moon of Demios, Nameless and his siblings struggled to keep their flame powers in check, usually injuring or killing them as a result. Soon, he met a blue-haired girl named Isolde, another one of NESTS' anti-K' experiments, similar to Kula Diamond. She would often take care of him and heal his wounds in the base's infirmary, with the two falling in love soon after. However, Isolde died later on in a combat test, with NESTS using her remains to create a metal gauntlet. With her soul still residing within, this glove given to an unknowing Nameless as a means to successfully control his powers. Years later, Nameless would discover the truth and would set out to ressurect Isolde.
Nameless acts as the game's strongest midboss and replacement for K9999, who was omitted from SNK media after the original King of Fighters 2002 for an entire decade for unknown reasons. Because of this, Nameless shares the same general moveset as K9999, and is non-canon due to 2002 UM being one of King of Fighters' "Dream Match" games.
