Summary

Mewtwo is one of the oldest Pokémon representatives in Super Smash Bros, debuting in Super Smash Bros: Melee. He was absent for the next game, Brawl, replaced by a functionally identical character, as well as the next game before he was finally added back into the series in the form of free DLC by popular demand, and remains in the series to this day.

Created through long years of research, a lone scientist created a perfect life form out of modified Mew DNA. Unlike the normal Mew, his combat abilities have been radically heightened, making him unstoppable in or out of the Pokémon series. The scientist failed, however, to give him compassion, making him one of the most ruthless of all Pokémon. His fighting prowess has gotten him invited into the Super Smash Bros series, promising battles against some of the greatest fighters in the multiverse; people like him, where he battles alongside his new friends to this day.

Attack Potency: At least Multi-Continent level (Can harm characters who can withstand attacks from Reshiram, who can scorch the world with fire, and should be superior to such; Palutena going so far as to call him “arguably the most powerful Pokémon in existence”, and Viridi even immediately wanting him dead when she considered his potential for havoc), higher with items, far higher via Daybreak, Dragoon, Home-Run Bat, Golden Hammer, or Psystrike | Universe level+ (Fought and defeated Galeem and Dharkon, who are individually capable of crushing the universe in a short period of time. Can also contend with characters amplified by Spirits of Palkia and Arceus, the former of whom controls all of space and the latter of whom appeared from nothing and created the world and sky. Possesses highly trained Spirits of Master Hand, Crazy Hand, and even Galeem and Dharkon themselves), higher with items, far higher via Daybreak, Dragoon, Home-Run Bat, Golden Hammer, or Psystrike

Speed: Immeasurable (Managed to move fast enough to create a shield in an attempt to protect itself from Galeem's rays of light, and is comparable to other combatants who could also react to them to different degrees, such as Link parrying some of them or Kirby outpacing them with a Warp Star. All combatants can also use a Warp Star to quickly crash-land on targets, and it's possible for them to react to and dodge it)

Lifting Strength: Class M (Should be comparable to King Dedede who is able to swing his hammer with this much force; Mewtwo can telekinetically move even Giant Metal opponents like Donkey Kong)

Striking Strength: Multi-Continent level | Universe level+

Durability: Multi-Continent level (Can take hits from Kirby, Captain Falcon, and Duck Hunt and other fighters in World of Light) | Universe level+ (Can withstand hits from Galeem and Dharkon)

Stamina: Superhuman; Can fight off hundreds of opponents in Endless Smash; was able to aid in the battle against dozens of Master Hands

Range: Standard Melee Range, Several Meters with ranged attacks, Extended Melee Range to Hundreds of Meters with items and Psystrike (Some Items, like Timer and Lightning, can affect even the largest stages, like Palutena's Temple)

Standard Equipment: None notable

Optional Equipment: Spirits, Skill Tree, Equipment, Powers, and Items

Intelligence: At least Gifted in combat; Fitting for the ultimate Pokémon, Mewtwo is one of the most intelligent Pokémon representatives in Smash Bros, notably one of the greatest known fighter from the Pokémon series. On top of this, he can any given weapons and items in combat. Can defeat 100 Mii Fighters in Century Smash, and multiple hundreds without rest in Endless Smash. Can hold off wave after wave of every other fighter in All Star mode.

Weaknesses: Using his forcefield for too long or on an attack too strong for him will cause it to break and stun him. His light body and tendency to levitate makes him very easy to launch, though not as much as Jigglypuff.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Mega Evolution: Mewtwo transforms into Mega Mewtwo, making him and his psychic abilities stronger than ever.
  • Psystrike: Mewtwo fires a giant psychic blast out of his hand, which passes through the opponent, hitting everyone in its way, before everyone is electrocuted to their core by his power. He typically Mega Evolves in tandem with this move, multiplying its power.
