Here's the four main threads, the third one is the one that's a-raging currently, but none of these are decided (msot due to the calcs not being accepted/declined yet, and one because we're not sure who should scale to what).
This one is largely just confirming that the current abilities we have for the gods should be acceptable. This is just what would apply to all/most gods, as most have an unbelievable amount of hax outside of the listed abilities.
Keisuke starts kinda strong. I mean, he even defeats Nokia's WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon (and that is one of the early-mid game missions), and even Omegamon later, although with help of Chitose's Shakkoumon.
He later defeats both V.V. and Sleipmon of the RKs, despite the fact that Rina was helping them. And there is also the fact that he defeated Arkadimon SU (a really strong enemy), without help.
By end game, Keisuke is superior to almost any other characters except Takumi and Alphamon.
This reconfirms that a digital network is like a multiverse with each server inside it being a separate universe. I already theorized this when I translated the information about the Yggdrasil Network being separated into servers and also quotes from the other games in the Story series as Sunburst / Moonlight.
This makes me miss the time when Digital World was just a planet ....
So do not take a look at Wikia that I participate in the Staff, because of the Hierarchical System of the LP Digimon are very powerful beings there (I say, just as I became Arceus 1-A there I did the same for some Digimon characters e.e)
That was another Wikia, because of having two wikias with almost the same heads of administration (IG and LP) it was decided that the two Wikias would merge, so that Wikia you saw with Alphamon is now dead. But we changed to a new system and it is very efficient, but it gets too complicated sometimes, mainly because we are very based on philosophy (Influence of Kevyn Souza, the same guy who did the Blog of omnipotence for this Wikia) and it is very difficult understand some concepts as the World of Ideas and Ontological Nothingness.
Has it ever been said if Adventure Omnimon is a Royal Knight, Adventure Seraphimon is one of the Three Great Angels, 02 Rapidmon is a Royal Knight, Tamers Gallantmon is a Royal Knight, Rina's UlforceVeedramon is a Royal Knight, Koh and Sayo's Apollomon and Dianamon are members of Olympos XII, Mirei's Ophanimon is one of the Three Great Angels, Mirei's Laylamon is one of the SGDL, Nokia's Omnimon is one of the Royal Knights, Lili's Laylamon is one of the SGDL, or Sebastian's Seraphimon is one of the Three Great Angels?
Tamers' Dukemon is stated to be Royal Knight in his Toei animation profile. However, this information is contradictory because with the fact that the Royal Knights didn't existed at the time (And I mean, as a real-life concept in the franchise—this imply that the concept began to be created at some point during Tamers production, however).
As for Ulforce V-dramon, both of his iterations (Zero and V.V.) got promoted to the RKs in stories different to those they debuted (Zero became an RK sometime after V-Tamer ended but before XW manga started; and V.V. became a RK in Cyber Sleuth as a replacement of the Ulforce V-dramon of CS world, but remained an RK after that).
Nokia's Omegamon is obviously an RK. That is stated in Cyber Sleuth...
Lili's Catherine (Lilithmon) and Taiga's Alphamon, are evolved forms attained by normal digimon using the digicores of Lilithmon of the SGDL and Alphamon of the RKs (Alphamon doesn't need a digicore to live, it seems, as he gifts his to Taiga after the X-antibody chapter and continues living as normal—see the end of the game and Cyber Sleuth; as for Lilithmon, she indeed died and Lili retrieved her digicore). As they are using the digicores of those digimon, I guess that makes them "reincarnations", and therefore members of those groups.
As for the other Digimon you mentioned, nope. Those individuals are not members of any group.
Yeah and nope. Nope in that those alternate evolutions you mention are optional. If you don't make the quest to get them, you cannot get them.
Taiga's Alphamon is an "in-story" reward for completing the "Lament of the X-Antibody" chapter. Alphamon leaves his digicore to Taiga after you defeat the first Yggdrasill_7D6, and Plotmon X mentions that using it will make your digimon evolve into "a digimon of the same species". You may or not may use it, but "in-story", you got it.
As is an "in-story" event, then is canonical, unlike those alternate evolutions.
And I had also forgot 02 Imperialdramon Paladin Mode as a Royal Knight, Tamers Beelzemon as one of the SGDL, Takuto/Shiki's Omnimon as a Royal Knight, and Kouta's Gallantmon as a Royal Knight. I assume those aren't true either.
What even was the purpose of the alternate evolutions? I understand Mirei's but not the others.
Just to get alternate evolutions, if you want them. But in the canonical events of the game, they do not get those evolutions (save for Mirei's, those evolutions don't even make sense). However, I guess Mirei's Ofanimon and Lilithmon are canonical, as she gets them even if you don't use an special item to unlock them. The others need the special item to get those evolutions.
As for those other digimon you mention, nope. They aren't members of any group. And Imperialdramon isn't even a member of the RKs in any of his iterations. Even "lore" Imperialdramon PM just founded the group, but was never part of it.
Were the appearances of anime characters in main series games non-canon? I assume so for Re:Digitize since everyone had their original appearances even though Re:Digitize took place years after tri., 02, Savers, and Tamers.
Just non-canon for the anime. They are still canon for the Digimon multiverse.
The characters that appeared in Re:Digitize/Decode are from a parallel version of the anime-verses (potentially, the same versions featured in the Digimon Adventure PSP game).
As for other games, dunno. I know that both Seki and Konaka consider Ryo's games canon for the anime, but some other authors disagree with them. And I really doubt you can consider the Card Arena game, or the fighting games canon for the anime.
The DS games seem to be canon for Savers, though, potentially post-series. While Digimon Savers Another Mission seems to be a parallel universe.
Nope. Its a World game. In fact, is somehow a remake of the Japanese Card Battle, with a different plot (instead of fighting against a Mugendramon infected by the Bug Card, you fight against A). The characters of the anime feature more prominently in Card Arena, but most of the plot is recycled from the original game.
Should be. Only in the anime and products emulating the anime, evolution isn't permanent. And that was done to favor plot over lore, because Kakudou felt that he was unable to write the story he wanted to tell if evolution was like in the V-pets (permanent).
If there was one, it was not revealed to us mortals.
If I have to guess, perhaps because Rina and Mirei are Yasuda's work? He included them, alongside all his characters from ReD and CS in his artwork that compiles all of his art. So, either he has the rights for those characters, or the illustrators of Ne0 didn't redraw them out respect or something... This is my theory, mind you.
Did the Adventure characters canonically have their Mega forms pre-tri. (excluding Tai, Matt, T.K., Kari, and Davis since WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon, Seraphimon, Magnadramon, and Imperialdramon all appeared in the anime in some form or another) like in the PSP game and the fighting games?
Can Digimon reach X-Antibody and Burst Mode unnaturally without a Digivice or the power? Similar to how In-Training Digimon can evolve to Rookies and Rookies can evolve to their Champion forms unnaturally without a Digivice or the power.
1. But could Digimon access it in typical instances?
2. Wasn't that only in Savers? It's in Cyber Sleuth, -next 0rder-, and I think the DS games as a natural evolution.
(In case you couldn't tell, I meant could they unnaturally reach the forms without humans or an item they don't typically have in the same way you see Rookies becoming Champions in the anime unnaturally without humans or non-standard items)
1. Its pretty rare to be found, indeed. But its something it doesn't needs a human being to be used, and that you can find naturally in the Digital World. Its just like finding oil, though. Its not something you came upon everyday.
2. Segregate story from game mechanincs. The official profiles state the necessity of human emotions. If we go by profiles, Burst Modes are only temporal evolutions. In the game, those are permanent evolutions because of game mechanics.
1. You mean, a permanent devolution unlike that of the "chosen" Digimon (that devolve because they lost the energy used for artificial evolution)? Its possible, but usually means that the digimon lost much of his power and cannot sustain an evolved form (for instance, the Guardromon in Digimon Tamers).
2. Dunno, but I don't think so. Unlike other series (like Savers), we do not have official word of the creators saying that.
Was there any particular reason they used the original instead of the Data Squad/Next version which was used in every other media in the verse (the other DS games, Championship, Data Squad and its spin-off games, Next, Alpha Evolve cards, etc.)?
Did the Japanese versions of 02 and Tamers actually switch to the 2nd openings (that you can find on YouTube) in TV airings or VHS/DVD episodes? The ones that in 02's case added the normal Champions (and I think also Paildramon) and replaced Ken with Arukenimon and Mummymon and in Tamers's case showed the Megas and the minor characters instead of just their silhouettes.
Greetings. Since we had a discussion on this earlier, I figured this would be relevant.
Are you aware that the two translations differ? What you presented to me :
""and even Ultimate Digimon, the most powerful beings in the Digital World, are rendered powerless before N.E.O."
What you probably wanted to present: "and even the strongest Digimon that exists in the Digital World are rendered powerless when confronting NEO"
The latter one has a few errors (i.e. it's mistranslated) which were also pointed out when we discussed it here , Another quick translation/mistranslation by Wildermon for Zubamon's higher form had him reaching another place on the world by taking a single step, that later turned out to be another mistake. The one on Wikimon is correct, even Google translate gives the same result (i.e. it doesn't say the strongest ultimates, just "Ultimates, the most powerful beings in the DW" which makes a huge difference).
I just visited a certain VS forum where some fans were claiming NEO is the strongest thing ever using the latter profile and was reminded of our discussion today.
