Upgraded to 2-B because I realized it's far stronger than people would think it is. I won't upgrade or downgrade a verse just because I don't like it haha
I wouldn't say "Disdain", it's more so a love-hate relationship:
I used to play the game when I was like.... 13 up until I was 15. The first two years were great, but then the developers and shit starting banning all the popular Wizard101 YouTubers for no given reason, and whenever they would make new accounts they would ban them as well. The game is also the living embodiment of Pay to Win, despite it being advertised as free. You literally cannot progress to the 2nd world unless you pay money.
Anyway I gtg. I'll tell the full story when I get back
Where was I. So yeah, the game became pay to win but there was something worse. The game just became so bad you couldn't play it anymore. The plot and the characters are 9/10. But the bloody game mechanics is so rubbish it's not even funny. Ever thing Shadow Magic came out, defense strategies have literally become irrelevant, since Shadow Magic just pierces all your resist to the point you don't have resist anymore, so yeah defensive strategy died. I was life school, so basically you out heal your opponents damage, but nowadays it's impossible to out heal the opponent. Since the game is turn-based, whoever goes first in PVP wins. Basically get a shadow pip and you can one shot your opponent. The school of ice, it's supposed to be defensive, high resist and high health but VERY weak in terms of attacks. But because of Shadow Magic, their attacks, do practically the same as the storm school.
So while the verse got an upgrade in fictional debating, it at the same time became unplaybale. There is no skill in pvp anymore because whoever goes first usually wins unless they are bad at the game.
The developers do not listen to the community, and the game is literally on it's final legs. The YouTubers for Wiz used to get millions of views per videos, but it has now decreased to like 70k at best, and that's only if it's final bosses of a world. So many people are quitting it's not even funny. What's worse, is that they update the game YEARLY. The only thing to do after you finish a world is just PVP, but as I said, it takes no skill anymore. Before all the defensive schools were the kings, but now if you're storm you have a billion damage, a billion resist and a billon health.
The only way to save the game would be to get rid of shadow magic and make the gear give worse stats. But Shadow Magic is so important in the plot, and they have dragged it out so much, taking it out wouldn't make sense and destroy plot the game was building for 10 years
OH, and the constant banning for no reason is probably the biggest issue in the game, so many people have gotten banned with no reason given, but the company saved their asses because in their contract it is stated they can ban for no reason
So we are replacing the links for google plus to prepare for the shutdown. This set of images requires a video due to the sheer number. Is it possible you can find a video for the scene in the games that is shown in that post? Thanks.
What you showed for him was done through the test realm, which was later changed once it went live (you can literally just see for yourself if you've gotten to the end, but if not let me know and I can record proof for that later). I've fought him several times since Empyrea Part 2 went live and it managed to work on him every time.
Either way, they would still have resistance to probability manipulation, because even if our chance of casting spells is reduced with all possible black mantle spells, we usually can still get our spells off and spells such as clense can remove negative accuracy spells.
I agree he should have it, I just thought I should bring up the fact that they did make the change. It's weird because there are so many bosses in the game who actually do remove black mantles automatically, but they're leagues below the Aethyr Titan. I suppose it could just be a game mechanic on their part, but I personally think it has more to do with the Divine Paradox transformation.
That reminds me. It's just a side effect, but Shadow spells are also capable of removing black mantles on their own, even if you do nothing. I'm pretty sure it's because of the backlash. Not sure how/if that would translate here, but it's something I thought I should bring up.
In RPG games, these kinds of feats generally do scale up. I think the resistance would stay due to scaling; considering the Aeythr titan is leagues above everyone and the fact that we can usually power through regardless. I don't think it's game mechanics- cheats are generally taken into account in canon. Like in the fight with GFS, he says the issues with time may help us win, and we do see him turn the duel circle around. And yes, by WoG, we are immune to universal laws and a few other things
It'll just be another application of shadow magic, like a passive ability. Maybe "Resistance to passive probability manipulation while in shadow shrike"
Something else to consider. Shrike, Trickster, Seraph, and Sentinel will each trigger the removal regardless of passing, but Shrike and Trickster are really the only ones that matter in a 1v1 scenario. If the player has two black mantles on them, casts a spell and powers through while in one of their transformations, and said transformation performs their side effect (additional piercing for Shrike and stealing PIPs for Trickster) then it will remove the second mantle along with first. This also applies to any Shadow Creatures that are being summoned.
