hey Weekly i just wanted to say that maybe after the forum move we should change the keys from the main characters: i noticed and probably not only me, that the main characthers after the volume 7 get upgrades and training that make them stronger from volume 6. What i'm trying to say is that we should separate the volume 6 and 7 and make these keys: volumes 4-6 and volumes 7 and afterwards.
well the logical assumption is that they are at least a spowerful as their base, we don tdo this for every skin like for example simple pop idol skins dont get a scaling unless we actually have a feat/statement of a sort. logically people scale up when they have or scale to characters withing the same AU that have better feats, rarely they scale down if it is portrayed that they are weaker in said verse, this is a bit uncommon though.
Currently we have very few AUs in the wiki from all of the existent ones because they are the ones that have some sort of scaling.
If there is obvious cases that their au selves can be unequal to the base ones, then you have no logical reason to say that they are as powerful by default unless WoG or some in-verse showings support that.
If it's an alternate universe and there is precedent for that being false, I'd need you to explain the logic beyond "they are au if that guy".
Some aus being stronger really doesn't help the case. If they can be stronger and weaker, then it's obvious there is no innate rule for the aus scaling to originals.
They still have the same abilities at the end of the day.
Actually a lot of AUs are stronger, very few are weaker, most are the same and even then only a few characters in said AU are weaker.
Example pulsefire ezreal is the same as ezreal except he now has time tech which allows him to do ridiculous shit like erase entire timelines/universes.
Highnoon lucian is the same except he gained the powers of devils. Senna is the same except thresh is now a devil and she escaped the lantern and became half demon. In the same verse fiddlestick is exactly the same but looks different.
Might I see it? Not saying you are lying, just the wording would mean a lot.
lol if we can find it again, riot deleted their entire forum earlier this year and we lost quite a few things from that, mostly a bunch of links luckily a few things were saved as images but not everything. Some stuff were archived but again not everything.
And yet they can still be weaker or stronger, at the end of the day.
Number isn't the issue, and them being stronger goes against their base being the default assumption too.
...and versions where they have nothing to do with the original character, too. If they are canonically "base, but some added stuff" that's obvious, but when the AU backstories don't connect at all is the problem.
Range: Extended melee range with swords and spears, tens of meters with guns and other firearms. Kilometers with Size Shifting
Standard Equipment: The Right Hand of Doom, 1941 US Army-Issue M1911A1 .45 Caliber Pistol, Excalibur, concussion and gas grenades, knives, spears, horns (via Prince of Hell), Vulcan 50 and 65, an iron horseshoe, Mohlomi's Bell, Resurrection Amulet & several other magical artifacts
Weaknesses: Hellboy's rather short-tempered and he has a soft spot for cats and Baby Ruth bars. Some of his weapons can malfunction and there are a few times where he's admitted to not being a great shot. Due to his half-demonic nature, Hellboy can be damaged by certain types of holy spells and magic.
