No worries, I am okay with trailers and commercials. Leaks and before release streams are my big no-no.Yeah, I was actually pretty surprised he got things into motion so soon. O_O Well, is assuming that's really happening and isn't just mind-screwing Cloud once again. The size is at least country sized if you ask me, at least from the shot from space.
That's probably part of the finale of part 1 for the story. Judging from the looks of it, although brief, it does seem to actually be happening. The wheather changes before it's summoned and the surroundings do seem to be affected, as it forces a cloudy sky, floating debree everywhere. Which is pretty similar to what he does in Advent Children when he fights Cloud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ws7BeK6DS0 (Happens around 1:50), which now that I think about it could give Sephiroth Weather Manipulation for his AC key. Similar to what Richter Belmont has. Also that very brief trailer might have showed off Sephiroth's One Wing in a very brief shot.
Yeah, now that you mention it there's a lot of of destruction of the whole area. Thing is, if hes actually using that spell already the party has no way of stopping it when they are in Midgar, so we have to wait and see. Maybe it isn't Meteor but a test run of sorts? Or maybe the explanation of his plan will now take place now in Midgar instead of waiting all the way until the Temple of the Ancients. Dunno, just naming possibilities.
Like he uses the same casting pose that he used in AC and he has his black wing with him in the story. Ever since Crisis Core the single wing was more or less used as the symbol of those "carrying" Jenova (on large amounts at least)-
You may have a point with Weather Manipulation, though those aren't quite clouds Sephiroth is calling, rather his negative Lifestream which causes the sky to go dark, it can still be considered a Weather Manip side effect. At least according to the AC commentary. Or perhaps he did Summon the Negative Lifestream and also caused the clouds to move as well separatedly.
It's a good part to look forward to. I am pretty excited to be honest, especially with all the new stuff to try out. We'll see how it turns out, but I am optimistic on it.
If there's one thing I want to be added is that they finally add lore to the Summons this time around and make them fightable, a rather big staple of the franchise that VII lacked (and maybe see some others from other games like Fenrir, Atomos or Eden in other parts)
Don't worry about it, I already looked up info on it so I am familiar with the story to an extent, don't worry about spoilers (besides I've neglected the game for 2 years already, it's my fault if anything >_>)
Sorry to bother you again, and don't get me wrong the calcs you did for me have been an absolutely massive help. I was looking at the calculation made by ChaosTheory that you used for my request in FFVII, specifically the one that listed the weight of the Diamond Weapon for Neo Bahamut's Telekinesis, and I noticed something, while ChaosTheory did use, in his own words, a conservative estimate of 1,380-2,150 tons for his calc (which is based on the official weight of the Airship he compared the Diamond Weapon to due to their similar size), he says near the end of the blog that the value he would use when he talked about the Lifting Strength in FFVII (the objective of his blog) is the mass he calced himself for the Diamond Weapon, which is 684,486,519,000 kilograms. A minor detail, despite their names the Weapons are not made of the gems in their names, it's never fully explained but it's mentioned they are biomechanical. I know you must be incredibly busy and sorry to pester you with this again, but if you have a minute can you take a look at what would yield in the calc using that value?
Many thanks in advance and keep up the great work!
Hey there! I was actually surprised as well to see other user asking for information regarding Monkey Island and especially Casshern. Always thought that outside Gatchaman (and Casshern Sins minor cult status) series made by Tatsunoko were pretty obscure outside japan. Glad to see other user here remembers them as well.
By any questions, my Casshern profile is going to be based on the original 1973 anime series (requested some feats to be calced for reasons at a time cause I ain't sure about them as those on mine are placeholders).
It was fine until after Zack woke up from his coma, from then the game took a huge difficulty spark and Zack slutter often and attack slower "I shit you not" and battles sometimes takes forever.
Apparently this is the game way of showing that Zack grew weaker in his 4 years sleep as Zack notice in a cutscene that he's having a lot of troubles with enemies he shouldn't have an issue with. The final stage is especially cruel. A lot of puzzles that have you run around while random encounters keep fucking you up, at this point they are throwing past bosses as random encounters LMAO
Thankfully Vital Slash is broken enough to get me through~
Oof, I had forgotten about that on the end, it can get pretty nasty. The side missions also start getting kinda insane with their difficulty when you unlock the last leg. I just gave up on those back in the day >_>
Cissnei is such a waifu thought, she's about the only characters whose actually supporting and helping Zack throughout all this mess when the whole fucking world is seemingly against him.
They did mention when you visit Gongaga that Zack was a failed experiment due to the fact that his Mako cells already mutated while Cloud had his body filled with pure S cells, this cleared one question I had for a while also.
Although this doesn't go well with Hojo calling Cloud failed experiment in the OG FFVII, I guess this another recton? It's the only explanation to why Cloud got huge gains in short time
That's what makes Zack such a tragic character, he's very talented, strong, charismatic, skilled, yet life keeps putting him in situations beyond his control. He probably would have gotten pretty far if hadn't been for his untimely death.
Yeah, Cissnei is pretty awesome and a relief that she was around with all the crap going on (if it had been possible to play Before Crisis I definitely would have made her my player character). Kunzel was a bro too, even with his limited role (makes me more enthusiastic if he's actually the mullet 1st Class in the Remake). I am on the side that actually liked Angeal, especially when he was being a mentor to Zack and found his honor speeches ridiculous but in an endearing way. Not a fan of his Genesis side of the plot, though.
Hojo calling Cloud a failure is mostly due to a couple of things: Zack escaped with Cloud before they could be given numbers, Hojo genuinely didn't remember Cloud and Cloud himself told Hojo he was a failure after Sephiroth came up with the whole "you're an artificial being made of Jenova Cells and fake memories" to break him (taking advantage of his faulty memory) Hojo simply believed Cloud's words. Later on when you face him in the Sister Ray he acknowledges he had made a mistake regarding Cloud and he fit in all the criteria to be called a successful Sephiroth Clone, and in fact was the only successful one (he even says "I can't believe I had such little scientific sense"). It also ties with what we talked about Cloud's monstrous evolution in a short time frame. I mean:
Very Talented Guy + Alien Parasite Cells Genetic Boost + Spiky Hair = Squeenix Equivalent of Dragon Balls Zenkai
It's one of the reasons I liked Cissnei tbh I truly hope we can see her in the remake, we need someone to call Cloud's on his BS and forgetting Zack despite everything he did for him. As or Kunsel, it's honestly hard to like the guy when he feels like just a NPC with a little more dialogue which is why I think if he's turned out to be the guy from the trailer it would been cool.
Heck, I am hoping he will be the final boss of VII and have a duel with Cloud. He's really the only character who should give Cloud a run for his money assuming he's a first class.
Holy shit how did I miss this? IIRC even up to the final encounter he keeps calling Cloud a failure which was what stuck with me.
I honestly would like to see the Mullet 1st Class completely thrash Cloud in an unwinnable boss fight, mixed with some trash talk (in the likes of "You a former 1st Class? Is that a joke?"), not only hypes up the SOLDIER program as it should be, but it gives kinda an aim and pretty good foreshadowing of Cloud's screwed up recollection. (And I like when they introduce new antagonists by smacking around the main character, it makes them look in this hard to reach place and want to get them back)
As crappy as it is, it's not Cloud's fault Zack was erased from his memory. Mako poisoning destroys your individuality and his mind was effectively gone. The Jenova Cells in him needed to survive somehow and if Cloud died the cells would be wasted without a host, so to keep Cloud working they used Jenova's memory reading and replications mumbo jumbo to copy Zack's story and give Cloud a present. When he met Tifa in Midgard he still was a borderline comatose mess, but thanks to the same trick Jenova looked at the Cloud in Tifa's memory and used those to give Cloud a past and create a full, if fake persona. Ironically, Jenova saved Cloud or he would have collapsed in a vegetative state and died not too far from Zack. Cloud's true memories eventually reformed but were kept away until Sephy smashed with a hammer his fake persona and Tifa helped him built himself back in his mind itself.
Yeah, someone need to call Cloud on his "I am former FIRST CLASS" Bullshit and what better way than have him get schooled by A REAL first class? It also raise the stakes and shows that Cloud still has a way to go
Jenova messed up with Cloud's mind this whole time? Where did you read? I thought all his story was made up due to him trying to avoid the shock of letting Zack dies. Cloud is petty complex MC which is something I really like in JRPG world filled with simple minded Teenagers.
Oh yeah, Mullet Man, bring in the beatdowns, give us a reason to become stronger!
Well it would make sense given the sheer amount of trauma the guy suffered to be topped with Zack's death.
The Ultimanias explain how Mako Poisoning affected Cloud's mind and how he recovered the first time (and why he had this sudden change with Tifa's presence). They also mentioned how his starting personality was a merge between his and Zack's, alluding to the same phenomenon.
Cloud was a surprisingly well layered character, especially for an old videogame. That's what made his exaggeration into a melancholic figure so frustrating given so many of his sides were thrown away for it: his cockiness, his goofy moments, his awkardness, his sensitive and caring personality, his dry sense of humor. Worse is that this completely overwrote Cloud's image among everybody and the original game was forgotten, with a backlash never letting go of the "mopey emo". It wasn't until around 2015 or so that people remembered Cloud had much more going for him and actually looked back at the original game.
Honestly, haven't really thought of what could be cut or would... Given that latest trailers are showing that they are using little details from the original I don't think the Gold Saucer would be gone, but rather reporpused and updated. Not to mention the Date Scene with the Fireworks (not big deal today, but it was a beautiful scene back in the day) and Dyne's introduction (which leads to Barret's backstory) happen there.
They'll probably replace him beating her up with outright trying to murder her with the Buster Sword right away (with more implications Sephy is having a hand there) and be stopped by another party member. Cloud swinging and growling in a completely berserk state with Sephy flashes indicating he had lost it.
Hey, sweet! Thanks! I had completely missed that >_>. So they did incorporate in DoC the ability it had in the original game. Genuinely didn't know the Death Penalty still had that property in DoC, I blame Gackt's kickass songs for distracting me. >=V
This could count as a form of Soul Manipulation with a couple of limitations: only works if Vincent finishes you off (though a good way to deal with some types of Immortality, Resurrection and some variants Soul Manipulation) and if you're evil in one way or another, kinda like a localized version of Geostigma. Though the power increase is still a bit unreliable to properly use to the profiles given it's stricly seen through in-game stats and dependant on how you played the game. When I played DoC it didn't seem to get that much stronger when I had it either, it always dealt between 2000-2500 damage, which admitedly is a lot of damage in that game, though still worth mentioning but clarifying it's a bit unreliable to properly use outside the game itself.
Once again, thanks for the info dude. Let me know if you come across anything else that catches your attention.
Found it. Yeah, I had forgotten to check out the menu description of the Death Penalty. The wording is a bit different, but it pieces together with the description you gave me, as monsters are essentially lifeforms corrupted by the Lifestream (and Maiden who Travels the Planet and DoC heavily imply that Tainted Lifestream is due to either Jenova's influence or negative emotions and sins, as in the wicked).
Essence of life may sound a bit of a stretch, but one has to remember that the Spirit Energy of a living being contains their Soul, Mind, Memories and Emotions altogether, so it fits in that front.
Sorry, I'll be more careful, and thanks for fixing it. I had mistaken the categories as something similar to the topics of threads in the forums, but quickly realized I was wrong. I tried to remove them, but couldn't figure out how to. Will be more careful from now on.
