    • I thought you were joking. I've only read the main 9 books as of now, so I'd need help with information from the spinoffs like the one about Rose and so on. But I'd actually be down after I'm done with the project I'm working on now. (lets just hope I can spell Phoney's name right)

I know ElixirBlue has also read the books, so he could help.

  • I found something absolutely concrete to sonic and Ian Flynn confirmed that another time another place is the game Sonic universe https://www.sonicstadium.org/2010/11/sonic-colors-adaption-interview-sonic-writer-ian-flynn/

    • Him saying, "It’s entirely up to the preference of the reader." when talking about if they all exist in the same universe and saying, "More or less, but it varies from project to project...you can take it as a retelling or a synopsis." when asked directly if they're the game canon doesn't sound very concrete. He seems to be saying, "if you want it to be, it can."

But all of that aside, the main problem is Ian Flynn does not have the authority to say the games exist within the Archie canon. Even if he flat out said, "the games take place in the Archie multiverse" it wouldn't matter since he's not the one who makes those decisions, SEGA is.

Nope, it actually says another time another place is a zone and is the game canon.

Ian Flynn has been writing and expanding upon sonic for years now, he has authority if sega allows it and he said the only restriction was that it had to be accurate to the source material

    • Unless you read a different interview than me, he doesn't directly say either of those things. They give him authority to adapt the stories, but they don't give him authority to declare the games canon to Archie. The adapted stories are canon to Archie, but unless SEGA says so, they aren't the games.
