Hey, Ant. I'm sorry I've been missing for a bit, but I've been busy focusing on some important things IRL. I appreciate the kindness and hospitality your community has shown me since I've been here, but I think I will be rolling back my presence to something more sparse after all. That isn't to say I'll be disappearing completely, but I think it might be healthier for me if I pick and choose where/when I'd like to throw my two cents in rather than feel some sort of heavy obligation to be in certain places at certain times. Feel free to keep tagging me if you feel you need me, but I'd appreciate it if you understood that I mean nothing personal by it if I don't show up. The respect you give to my input is both flattering and appreciated.
By the way, I just reviewed that thread we worked on regarding Darkseid and Pre-Crisis Superman, and I think I missed a necessary edit by accident. The Note on Superman's profile explaining his feat with Jaxon was phrased in something of a misleading manner, which might have caused the initial confusion. It claims that Superman's feat is being conservatively estimated because Crisis on Infinite Earths only happened a few years later, but the alternate futures involved in the feat are notably different from DC's standard multiverse model, based more off of possible futures than parallel realities. Crisis on Infinite Earths has nothing to do with it. The feat is being conservatively estimated simply because it never implies anything more extreme than multiple futures being affected, and infinite futures would contradict his other showings. We should probably fix that phrasing to avoid further confusion in the future.
This is just a mention that I suggested you for a discussion moderator position, but given that you are quite new here, and that the other two members that I enlisted to help out with Marvel and DC revisions (PrinceOfTheMorning and Sandman31) quickly disappeared, the staff thought that you should prove that you intend to remain here for a prolonged period of time first.
Hi, Ant. Sorry that this reply took a few days, but I was under the weather recently and decided that perhaps it was not a good idea to debate about comic books while I was sick. If you don't mind my asking, what exactly is expected of a discussion moderator?
Well, mainly to help with resolving content revision threads, calming down out of control arguments, and reporting rule-breakers to the administrators. Your focus would be the first one, for Marvel and DC Comics threads specifically.
The position does not sound particularly different from my current role, other than the part about reporting rule breakers. I see no reason I should not be capable of handling it. Is there some sort of catch?
No, there is no catch, other than that it is extra work, but you also get increased authority. You just have to prove that you intend to stay here for a prologed period of time, so I can suggest you again.
Well, I really appreciate the recommendation. That is quite a high level of praise. I'll do my best to keep sticking around until you feel like my long-term presence has been proven. After that, you can feel free to recommend me again at your own discretion. I'm flattered.
