Well destoying a blizzard is very vague. If the sky was covered in clouds and the next moment it wasn't then yeah KE works. I believe DontTalkDT did some work on those calc methods recently.
But to be more precise a blizzard is just a violent snow storm that is necessarily accompanied by strong winds and is usually a bit colder. To "destroy" it I assume one needs to return the surroundings to normal conditions. Now that probably means you have to warm everything up to room temp. You don't need to heat up the clouds that much though, just enough to stop the water from freezing.
Also if it is indeed cloud dispersion you don't need to heat the clouds, it would just stop snowing anyways. And if it isn't mentioned it got any warmer around and it isn't mentioned that the sky was cleared I would guess just warming up the clouds to where it stops snowing would be the bare minimum you could do, though that's like the most troubling part of this.
Assuming the norm of 20 km radius and 8 km clouds height/thickness we get a volume of 10053096491487 m^3. Cloud density is 1.003 kg/m^3 so a mass of 1.008326e+13 kg.
The feat seem to take some time so I'll go with 10 s for the timeframe. 20000/10 = 2000 m/s for speed.
0.25*1.008326e13*2000^2 = 1.008326e+19 J
Now I didn't bother to count how long it took and someone may find a problem with the distance but I'm working with the standart assumption since I don't see how you'd measure it. But so long as I'm reading the instructions correctly this should work, I think. Kinda too short on time right now to check if there is a something I'm missing.
On a side note, those Re:Zero revisions I didn't finish... I'll try having them done next month if all goes well and I get the time.
Sounds about right, the profiles were made years ago, and nobody has really touched them. Years ago when they were made it was a struggle to get anything calc, nobody cared when i requested stuff, so yea there being stuff to calc isn't surprising.
Ok, I did a double check on my calc and it's mathematically sound. I had my doubts looking at the standart results page so I did some math and found out that they use diameter not radius. This seems to me like an oversight but just in case I'll go check with DT if there is something I'm missing and get clarity on one thing that's been bugging me about this page.
Alright, got thing figured out. First of all that formula was for something that is likely to almost never happen and the common results part was wrong. Now for the actual calc, bare in mind I'm still using 10 s as the time frame but since this is a VN it's hard to pin down a time frame so feel free to just replace it with something else you find more accurate, because this isn't.
1) The hairs on the whale are specifically stated to disperse mana or blunt force something like that from what i remember. Piercing attacks on this site at least is treated as some form of durability negation to an extent from what i know, it's easier to harm someone by piercing them than punching them.
The idea with the two durabilities for the Whale was to reconcile the fact that it's treated as a benchmark for strength where only some of the strongest characters can beat it alone, while absolute fodder can pierce it.
2) This is an indexing site, we list everyone really, as long as they have some abilities. Their fighting style is different and so is their power, though yea at the end of the day they are the same character, though idk if we actually wanna list that as key for Roswaal, would be huge spoilers.
3) Reinhard with Reid is vague in general, i don't mind if him and Satella are listed as unknown but i think it's pointless to do so since we actually will get a feat to gauge him by in season 2. Regardless there is a massive difference between Base Reinhard and Reinhard with Reid in terms of power.
Yeah, it says just force, piercing, slashing, blunt—it's all force. See, the reason why piercing is treated as dura neg is because there's an inverse correlation between force per square meter and surface area. If a sling a two swords with equal force and one is 10 times sharper (it's edge is 10 times thinner) it will do 10 times the damage.
And fodder being able to pierce it doesn't mean much, mosquites can pierce our skin but only bigger animal can outright kill us. To begin with the Whale's skin is only described as "hard as stone" and they were burning its hairs off to be able to deliver actual damage.
It's been a while, so didn't remember if just force was said. Well i was just telling you the rationale for why the Whale was listed as that at the time.
The issue would be scaling said fodder to the Whale, thus basically scaling everyone to it when only the strongest characters at the time of the authors statement, could take it on alone ie Roswaal.
But those characters all have greater feats than the Whale so it's a no brainer that they can take it on alone, none of them scale to it due to that. I don't mind getting rid of the 2 durabilities for the Whale, and just have it as Town level. It shouldn't have likely higher ratings due to it's fog though since that's hax.
Liliana not fighting isn't a reason to delete her profile, plenty of characters don't fight on this site, they just have to have some abilities we can list for them thus not being normal humans. Again this is an indexing site, "vs battles wiki" is just misleading, we just inherited that and can't change it, this is an indexing site foremost.
I understand but again, scalling fodder to the Whale is like scaling mosquitos to us, like one kills the other by accident just by moving. The only one who legit injured the Whale is Wil when he cut it's fin off and made that big wound when it was pinned down, though that doesn't fully scale since he could not have killed it like that even if it sat in one place most likely.
We also need to change it's existence erasure, same with the archiboshops of gluttony. It's not existence erasure, it leaves a body behind, it erases all memories of the person and all objects belonging to the person ie Rem's belongings, the letter she wrote etc.
The former is memory manipulation, the latter i am not sure about, time manipulation maybe?
Is that what it referred to? I though it was her freezing everything, herself included. She should still be able to kinda do it, if read Bond of Ice you'll see she pretty much had the same powers she does now, prior to her contract with Puck. It's just that Puck uses her mana whilst saying that he gets it from the atmosphere to prevent her from realizing how powerfull she is.
I suppose, that way I don't have to wonder to whom to give that ice clone thingy they did vs Pete. Btw I haven't mentioned this but since fire magic is just heat manip by definition in Re:Zero I added it to a bunch of profiles, water magic is also the magic of life bacause water mana is life force so that's... something? There was also something about wind and earth I didn't quite get, yin and yang too.
Maybe, when did she create a large number of projectiles?
Your blizzard calc was accepted a while ago so ppl who scale to Puck should be city level+, i think Reid, Reinhard, Sehkmet should be Mountain level seeing as Sehkmet can beat all the other witches in under a minute, same witches who are comparable to Roswaal.
Arc 6, Chapter 26 while fighting Reid. Speaking of the devil he was quite casually dodging light even with Eridona's poor aim and he has the same Getsuga Tenshou as Reinhard.
Idk how we scale people simply demolishing a group of X Tiers but I agree. Btw what do you think of that feat from Memory snow where small Puck made it snow all the way in the capital, I think it warrants at least an "up to" rating?
Can you give me a quote of that? Not gonna read the whole chapter to find it, especially since i wanna read all of arc 6 at once.
Btw this is stuff you should be putting in a content revision thread, if it's straight forward nobody is gonna object, like danmaku, this thread is just to iron out what's gonna be in the thread i guess.
Didn't Puck do that with mana he saved up for a year? Doesn't scale to him normally and saying Up to mountain level or whatever the feat came out to since i forgot, by saving up his mana for a year doesn't seem right.
With her sights set on the man’s smile, Emilia put some force into her words―― Right away the air popped and snapped and droplets of pale light fluttered about, then formed into weapons of ice one after another.
Swords, lances, spears, axes, arrows, and many, many more weapons formed.
Ice Brand Arts: Icicle Line―― A technique that used the giant reserves of magical energy inside Emilia to create a limited-area boundary of destruction, a special technique forged through Subaru’s otherworldly inventiveness, had activated.
Emilia: “Ei, ya!!”
She raised her voice in a warcry, but it had no effect on the man.
Accompanying her cry, the weapons that had their tips pointed towards the『Stick Swinger』shot off from all directions at the same time.
Multiple weapons that struck even from one’s blindspots, it was indeed an unblockable attack.
Faced with this, the man once again took one chopstick in each hand, and released a raging flurry of strikes, starting the tyranny of chopsticks.
Art unfolded in the spectacle of a single man ripping through ice.
He could not find a single chance to break into the fight. Emilia was fighting up to that extent, where she kept swapping between weapons she was good with, always playing to her strengths, continuing her physical attacks, as well as firing off her storm of magic. The centre was indeed, a point which was being consistently carpet-bombed.
Yeah, this belongs in a thread, I kinda trailed off. I can't remember if it was a whole year, I remember him saying that the last time he had to use a lot of mana was against Elsa. Well, if we're gonna list a bunch info we don't even need just to index it this probably belongs too, even if it ends up as environmental destruction or combat unapplicable
From what i remember is that either his ode or mana one of them, builds up overtime, hence every year he has to release it all, this is why the mansion got cold cause he was slowly releasing his excess mana.
He released the final amount of build up mana hence causing it to snow in the capital.
I did consider it but just eyeing it tells me that even if it's pulverization it's probably gonna be lower than what she has. I've tried several things to disappointing results really. The best I got was that explosion at the end of ep 25 which is supposed to be the same one as the one that Felix and Subaru were caught in, it's pretty decent and Julius' Ia was able to shield it.
I really tried for something better from Elsa vs Reinhard but hell, it's such a mess I can't get anything. I was thinking of those scenes during the Whale fight where large amounts of mist get blows away, maybe that can yield something but it's hard to measure due to the cinematography.
Another one I though of was when Rem fired 4 ice pillars that "rivaled the central pillar of a mansion" at the Whale to kick off the fight but I'm not sure what it means. This is the biggest clearly visible pillar I could find but it's actually smaller than this Al Huma . There is one pillar that's bigger, the one that holds the spiral stairs that connect each floor but only the width is measurable and height whould have to be assumed, which I don't like doing.
Yes, I'm gonna make a crt (this weekend), but idk how to scale the results of this because things like this are dubious. Julius can shield this with just one of his spirits whilst he has 6 in total, and this is magic so it doesn't necessarily scale to physical strikes. Also Pete was able to take his Al Clarista to the face in ep 25 but got crushed by falling rocks so it probably doesn't scale and we should go with this for his dura. I want your opinion on the matter because I'm bad at these stuff.
Bruh, I feel like shooting myself over powerscaling right now thanks to Tappei.
The one speaking with Priscilla is a person known as Marcos Gildark, the captain of the royal guard. His strength is second in the kingdom, after Reinhard. In a regular fight, he's about as strong as Roswaal.
So, since the director's cut has been airing (btw they haven't added anything new yet) Tappei has been spamming tweets when a new ep drops. It largely consists of him clarifying what's happening, giving details about skipped scenes (unlike the cut itself) and shilling a bunch.
A guy that goes by Wintry goes and translates them when they come, over on the subreddit. Here's this week's.
It's mostly a lot of quotes/citations but yeah it's too long, really AP changes would take like a page or two, there is a LOT of things to be added and I need to show everyone where I got them from, mean a lot of them can just be added like that due to how straight forward they are but I feel like I should show everything and making several CRTs seems unproductive so I'll try to type them out as messages on the thread itself.
Well, I suppose I can postpone it a bit more, I already see things I've missed and I can always iron out the part where I got lazy while writing, idk try and set a record for longest revision or something.
Yeah it looks fine now. Idk how it is in relation to scaling cause Godzilla is a convoluted franchise but I assume it should be useable for that version of him. You don't really need to message me for this, it's calc group members that evaluate the calcs not regular users(that's not to say DMUA doesn't make mistakes often cuz he does).
I looked at that study and they begin to explain how to calculate the energy needed but they stop at the energy needed to vaporize the water contends so idk where 2.99 comes from.
In the comments I cited this article that uses the simplest possible method of meassuring volume, water displacement. And they do use a 70 kg (155 lbs) as the weight in their example at the end and they do get a volume of 70000 cc, seems pretty accurate. to me. I just miltiplied it by the atomization value for the human body from the Calculation Page and got 5.069143e+9 J.
As you can see I'm currently quite busy with that explosion CRT that ain't going the smoothest and I had some other projects I'd like to work on that are being delayed because of that, like this and some additions I will make to the specific and latent of specific substances and what not. Those will have to wait till we can come to an agreement on what should be done with the explosion standarts and I still plan on pushing for it.
Now this ain't gonna be the only thing that's gonna keep me busy I still need to get to revising the Re:Zero page because there are so many thing that are wrong with it and I'd like to have it done by the air date of season 2, so there's that.
I'll try and get to the request thread but many of these are a bother because they rarely provide you with all the necessary information about the feat and one has to go searching for it to find a way to calc it. But otherwise I'm open to the idea.
Hey Ant, I've got an odd question to ask in regards to this . How many different sources am I allowed to cite?
You see I I'm trying to go solely off of Wikipedia to avoid contradictions in values that occures when citing different sources but it can only take me so far. For materials that are a mix of several elements like steel, granite, wood etc. I need to look somewhere else for some values. Should I do that or not? For referense the blogs that the currents premade calculations come from do cite a combined minimal of 3 sources and said sources to contradict each other on some values. Mean technically Wikipedia also has like a dozen sources for their values so should I do it?
Again, if you wish to join the calc group, you need to perform several calculation requests of your own, so the other members can easily evaluate how skilled you are. Commenting in lots of other members' calculation blogs or in discussions about our standard practices will not help at all in this regard.
Sure but I don't think that making these sort of calculations require me to be a calc member if they're correct, right? I just see something that can be improved on and so I try to improve it. And commenting on those posts has nothing to do with me wanting a promotion of sorts, I just see there's something wrong with the calc and I point it out, it's what many people do. As I stand currently I'm doing those things because I can and I'm bored.
Doesn't this technically count as doing calcs though, especially since I'm gonna do the calcs for the melting and vap for like several dozen materials, something like this . And why not look at those 3 to 4 people that always do the requested calcs, you know who I'm talking about, they seem far more willing to spend time doing the job. Whatever can we just retire the topic for now?
