My weapon is the fire of God that destroys humanity!
~ Mega War Machine

Summary

Mega War Machine, or more popularly known as Gold War Machine, is a secret character and antagonist appearing in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. He is one of three mysterious figures that Onslaught will call upon to deal with the heroes that oppose him, should certain conditions be met during the Arcade Mode.

During the secret battle against Mega War Machine, he is introduced by Onslaught, who calls him his servant. He is then commanded to bring destruction and desperation to all of humanity, implying that he is a clone of the real War Machine created by Onslaught's psychic powers. Despite this, Mega War Machine seems to have not only inherited the powers of the original, but also his heroism. Due to this, he remains confused, having the desire to serve his creator, but also feeling guilt towards his actions. Similar to the other secret characters, Mega War Machine is playable by fulfilling a series of commands.

Attack Potency: Brown Dwarf level (Comparable to the original War Machine[Statistics Values 1])

Speed: FTL (Comparable to War Machine)

Lifting Strength: Class Y (Comparable to War Machine)

Striking Strength: Brown Dwarf level

Durability: Brown Dwarf level

Stamina: Superhuman

Range: Standard Melee Range; Hundreds of Meters with Gadgets and Special Attacks (His Laser Shot is capable of reaching across the entire screen[2])

Standard Equipment:

  • Powered Armor: A battle suit similar to Iron Man and War Machine's, only that it's seemingly incapable of flight.[2]
    • Shoulder Cannon: His armor has a built-in shoulder-mounted cannon that can fire explosive missiles or lasers.
    • Energy Shield: An incredibly durable holographic shield for blocking attacks.
    • Smart Bombs
  • Proton Cannon: A giant shoulder cannon capable of firing devastatingly large and high-damaging missiles.
  • Jetpack: Similar to Iron Man and War Machine, Mega War Machine arrives to battle wearing a large jetpack nearly as tall as himself.

Intelligence: Gifted (Should have similar intelligence to the original War Machine, who's heavily skilled and experienced in military combat, weaponry, and piloting, as well as an understanding on how to utilize and adjust his highly advanced battle suit.[2] Combat-wise, Mega War Machine's fighting style is nearly identical to regular War Machine and Iron Man, with the exception of a few lost abilities and an even greater focus on power and defense. Even so, tactics such as projectiles, zoning, and ranged attacks are still Mega War Machine's expertise)

Weaknesses: Mega War Machine cannot fly or block, usually opting to just walk through attacks. Unlike the original War Machine, he needs his jetpack to fly in any capacity. Additionally, Mega War Machine cannot jump as high as the original War Machine[2]. Finally, Mega War Machine goes through internal conflicts due to his intended purpose and the heroism he inherited from the original War Machine.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Focus Shot: Mega War Machine punches forward with both arms, releasing a small laser burst. The blast fires in a 45 degree angle either up or down depending on the chosen direction.
  • Knee Dive: Propelling himself with rockets, Mega War Machine lands a knee attack from above.
  • Up Kick: Mega War Machine performs a straight up kick.

  • Throw #1: Mega War Machine grabs the opponent before blasting them away with a burst of repulsor energy.
  • Throw #2: Mega War Machine grabs the opponent and pushes them across the screen using his jet boots. Once he arrives at the edge, he blasts the opponent away with a burst of repulsor energy.
  • Aerial Throw: Mega War Machine grabs the opponent mid-air, sending them flying diagonally down to the ground either forward or behind him with a repulsor blast to the face.

  • Shoulder Cannon: Mega War Machine fires a single missile from his shoulder-mounted cannon. Depending on attack strength, he can fire multiple missiles at a fast pace, and the attack can also be done in the air.
  • Laser Shot: Mega War Machine crouches and fires a laser beam from his shoulder-mounted cannon. Depending on attack strength, the laser can deal multiple hits upon the opponent. This laser beam can also reach across the entire screen and even deal damage surpassing that of the average Hyper Combo.[2]
  • Smart Bomb: Mega War Machine fires a couple of bombs from his shoulders. This attack can be performed mid-air. Depending on attack strength, he can release either fewer but faster bombs, more but slower bombs, or a moderate combination of quantity and speed.

  • Proton Cannon: Mega War Machine summons a gigantic shoulder-mounted cannon out of thin air before firing an array of rapid, high-damaging missiles.
  • 7f6yei
    • War Destroyer: Summoning a large device on his back, Mega War Machine shoots multiple rockets towards the sky which eventually rain down on the opponent. This attack is good for close range as a beam surrounds War Machine when he performs this attack.
