Summary
Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga (八握剣異戒神将魔虚羅 Yatsuka-no-Tsurugi Ikaishinshō Makora ) is the most powerful shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique. In order to summon this entity, an individual must stretch out both hands and recite the incantation "Furube Yurayura".
The creature is distinguished by a mystical sigil etched on its back. This sigil plays a pivotal role in its powers. If an adversary fails to obliterate this sigil with a singular, decisive blow and subsequently subdue the entity, the sigil begins a rotation. This motion bestows upon the creature the ability to heal itself up to nine times. Additionally, as the sigil rotates, the entity undergoes a transformation, making its capabilities increasingly formidable and vexing for its challenger. Armed with the revered "Eight-Handled Sword", this shikigami specializes in banishing curses. A unique trait of this entity is its adaptability. With each rotation of its sigil, it not only rejuvenates but also fortifies its resistance against previously encountered assaults, constantly refining its combat strategy to be ever more lethal.
Powers and Stats
Tier: At least Low 7-C | At least Low 7-C, likely higher | 7-A
Keys: Untamed Mahoraga | Sukuna's Mahoraga (16 Fingers) | Sukuna's Mahoraga (20 Fingers)
Name: Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga
Origin: Jujutsu Kaisen
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Classification: Summoning, Shikigami
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Mahoraga is considered to be the strongest Shikigami at the disposal of the Ten Shadows Technique).
- Regeneration (Mid; Able to regenerate from severe wounds that even cut through his head[1])
- Reactive Evolution (Mahoraga has the ability to adapt to any and all phenomena. With the process of adaptation, Mahoraga only needs to experience the phenomenon a single time for the adaptation process to begin. Repeated exposure to the phenomenon shortens this adaptation process considerably so. Its evolution never fully stops even after fully adapting to the an opposing technique, always continuing to adapt itself[2] and obtaining more ways to bypass it.)
- Enhanced Senses & Extrasensory Perception (Invisibility, 1 Layer; Mahoraga was capable of seeing Sukuna's slashes, which are invisible even to sorcerers and Cursed Spirits, and deflect them once it adapted to the phenomenon.[1])
- Information Analysis (After receiving an attack, Mahoraga's adaptation process slowly analyzes it in order to build a counter to it)
- Power Modification (Mahoraga is able to alter the very nature of their cursed energy[2] in order to adapt and become immune to whatever phenomena he faces such as the inviolability granted to Gojo by the Neutral Limitless.)
- Spatial Cutting & Durability Negation (Its second adaptation to Gojo's Limitless allows it to extend its Cursed Technique target to "space, existence and the world itself" which lets it project a slash that cuts through[3][2] anything in its path.)
- Limited Invulnerability (Once fully adapted to a phenomenon, Mahoraga becomes completely immune to said phenomenon. It is implied that he survived the initial onslaught of Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine due to adapting to the phenomenon of slashing attacks in general and not merely Sukuna's Dismantle attack. Even Yorozu creating a perfect sphere that applies infinite pressure onto whatever comes into contact with it was useless against Mahoraga due to him already having adapted to the liquid metal she used for her constructions.[4])
- Invisibility & Incorporeality (Shikigami are disembodied to Non-Sorcerers much like Cursed Spirits.)
- Energy Manipulation (The Sword of Extermination erases curses with positive energy.)
Attack Potency: At least Small Town level (Deflected Sukuna's Dismantles[1], which can wound Ryu Ishigori[5]. Is the strongest Shikigami of the Ten Shadows, having never been tamed by any previous user of the technique[6]. Heavily implied to have killed both a Six Eyes + Limitless user and a Ten Shadows user in the past[6]. Sukuna believed that had he fought Mahoraga in the detention center he might have lost[1][Statistics Values 1]) | At least Small Town level, likely higher (Should be stronger than his untamed version like the rest of Sukuna's shadows. Through its adaptation, it pierced through Yorozu's True Sphere and killed her.[4]) | Mountain level+ (Wounded Satoru Gojo although he was off guard[7]. Implied to be superior to Agito as Gojo thought the latter "didn't fit in with this crowd"[3]. The moment Mahoraga appeared, the thought of Gojo losing flooded everyone's minds[8], though this is primarily because of it's adaptation to Infinity rather than it's own strength.[Statistics Values 2])
Speed: At most Supersonic+ (Can react to and deflect Sukuna's Dismantles[1], but is still considerably slower than him[6][1][Statistics Values 3]) | Supersonic+ (Should be faster than before) | At least Supersonic+ (Could keep up with and react to Gojo, managing to defend Sukuna from his attacks several times.[3][9])
Lifting Strength: Unknown | Unknown | Unknown
Striking Strength: At least Small Town level (After imbuing his sword with Cursed Energy, he sent Sukuna flying through several skyscrapers.[1][Statistics Values 1]) | At least Small Town level, likely higher (Pierced Yorozu's perfect Sphere and killed her.[4]) | Mountain level+ (Is able to wound Gojo.[7][Statistics Values 2])
Durability: At most Small Town level (Withstood several strikes from Sukuna and his Dismantles although he was severely injured[1][Statistics Values 1]) | Small Town level (Should be superior to his untamed form) | At most Mountain level+ (Withstood several punches from Gojo[8] but was visibly stunned and later took Gojo's Black Flashes[9]. Although somewhat comparable he is still substantially less durable than Gojo or Sukuna, as he got completely obliterated from the Unlimited Hollow Purple while the other two survived[9][Statistics Values 2])
Stamina: Superhuman (Mahoraga can only be killed by being completely destroyed in one hit[10], otherwise he will survive and adapt. Survived from Sukuna's Dismantles that slashed into it's head[1] and was later able to survive Malevolent Shrine despite Cleave visibly damaging him[10])
Range: Extended Melee Range via sheer size and Sword of Extermination
Standard Equipment: Sword of Extermination, Wheel
Intelligence: Average (Though it analyzes the fundamental information of attacks and phenomena it is exposed to, Mahoraga doesn't seem to have much of in the way of thinking, attacking indiscriminately as though it were a wild animal. When tamed however, it seems to have a greater thought process, protecting the user without being directly commanded)
Weaknesses: Upon its first encounter, Mahoraga is at its most susceptible. To defeat it, an opponent must deploy an overpowering attack potent enough to vanquish Mahoraga in one fell swoop. If Mahoraga survives the initial attack, it commences an adaptation process. This adaptation can be hastened through repeated exposure to the same type of assault. However, if Mahoraga experiences only a single type of attack, its adaptation is slower, requiring a longer duration to fully counteract and overcome the threat.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Sword of Extermination (退魔の剣 Taima no Tsurugi ): A sword fixed onto Mahoraga's right arm. Its (normally) enveloped in positive energy, which is a weakness to curses and erases them.
- Adaption (適応 Tekiō ): Mahoraga is distinguished by the 8-spoked, golden dharma wheel that floats over its back. If the shikigami is not defeated with a singular, decisive blow, this wheel initiates a rotation process. As it turns, it bestows upon Mahoraga the capacity to heal itself up to nine times, while also enhancing and/or modifying its abilities to pose an ever-increasing challenge to adversaries. Rather than merely resisting, Mahoraga's adaptation lets it overcome and surpass the "phenomena" wielded by its opponents (their own attacks or defenses), and this adaptation is ceaseless, with the entity continuously evolving to better counteract threats (though, the more complex a phenomenon, the longer the adaption takes). A testament to how advanced the adaption process is, Sukuna was able to take a particular adaption of Mahoraga (to Gojo's Infinity) as a "model" and emulate it by modifying his own "Dismantle" technique, in order to (like Mahoraga) slice through the very concept of the "World" (space) and effortlessly bypass Gojo's spatial barriers.
