Summary
Kaname is a high school student who was invited to try out the mobile app game Darwin's Game by a friend. He finds out that there's no way to quit the game and tries to survive the battles against others and game events. He becomes well-known in the game's community due to winning his first 2 battles, despite being a newbie, against powerful opponents Banda-boy the «Rookie Killer» and Shuka the «Undefeated Queen».
He later creates the «Sunset Ravens» clan with Shuka, Rein Kashiwagi, Ryuji Maesaka and Sui after the Treasure Hunt event. The clan soon takes control of the Shibuya territory, imposing a non-combat rule in the area, and forms alliances with other clans and players, and even a branch of the Japanese police. Kaname's ultimate objective is to find the Darwin's Game administrator and shut down the game.

Stamina: Peak Human. Post-training, Kaname was able to fight for several minutes straight against a professional martial artist.[12] During the Treasure Hunt event which lasted several hours, he was continuously getting himself into battles with other players, and he swam underwater in a freezing, flooded underground mall for a while without breathing.[13] In the Hunting Game event, he got stuck on a large tropical island roaming with monsters, where he had to fight for survival while looking for food and water on a daily basis, in which he seemed to have no trouble doing.[14] On one occasion where he was mildly tortured, he had enough energy left to spar with a master spearsman and force a draw.
Range: Standard Melee Range with physical strikes, Extended Melee Range with melee weapons, Tens of Meters with pistols (25-100 meters), Hundreds of Meters with rifles (350+ meters for AK-47, RPD and Grenade Launcher, 500+ meters for M4 and M16, 800+ meters for Mk 48), Kilometers (over 1.5 kilometers with snipers) | Standard Melee Range with physical strikes, Extended Melee Range up to Universal+ with his sigil

He can recreate any weapon he has come in contact with and has understood the mechanism; this includes a wide range of firearms, grenades, explosives, melee weapons and other simple items like torches or ropes.
Intelligence: Above Average, possibly Gifted at survival. Kaname has above average intelligence, but is great at using his knowledge, is quick-witted, is considered the 3rd smartest member of his 11-membered clan and is gifted in combat. He excels at applying his knowledge and skills to the deadly battles of the Darwin’s Game and at thinking of strategies for either himself or his clan - which ruled over 2 districts of Tokyo - even when he doesn’t have much information at his disposal. His plans made his team capable of beating the «Eighth» clan twice[15][16], and he singlehandedly overwhelmed a group of armed thugs with nothing but a pistol and a machete. He became the uncontested and natural leader of a group of 100 superhumans from different countries during a team deathmatch[17], has forged multiple alliances and pacts with other clans - and even the US military[18] - through diplomacy, and has figured out the secrets of several Sigils in the span of a fight. He's also naturally talented and a quick-learner, as he surpassed Inukai and reduced the gap with Liu Xuelan in the span of a couple months, and mastered his Sigil unusually fast. Furthermore, Kaname is an impeccable fighter and marksman with all weapons and the guns he can summon, able to shoot with precision, both lethally and non-lethally. Finally, he has good and solid knowledge of vehicles, animals, and guns.
Weaknesses: Normal human weaknesses
- He is the first player to ever defeat Shuka, a Rank A player who had 49-0 win record. He did so by only using a tactical military torch, an electric baton, a CZ 97B Pistol (none of which he used to hit her) and his wits.[19]
- After his first training, he stood up against Alexeï Berdennikov for a few minutes without getting hit once and forced him to accept his alliance proposal.[12]
- He won a 3-vs-1 and then a 5-vs-1 fight against armed members of the «Eighth» Clan (who had shotguns and submachine guns) with only his CZ 97B pistol, a knife and a machete. He was several meters away from them before the fight.[20]
- He is the only person to have uncovered the secret behind the Treasure Hunting event, with Rein's help.[21]
- He has perfectly mastered the reproduction of dozens of weapons, both melee ones and firearms, not only in shape but also in durability and power. He can create more than 50 objects in a row.
- With a lance, he fought on par with a master spearsman and then engaged in a fist-fight with him, managing to knock him out. He was mildly tortured before that.[22]
- He has strong survival skills, enough to hold out in a jungle by himself for a few days.[14]
- He became the undisputed leader of a group of 100 players in a team death-match.[17]
- Casually defeated Inukai[23] and Takeshi Saigo.[24]
- He spared with Hideaki Kanehira, a 5th-rank kendo master, and discovered the limits of his power in the span of a single fight.[25]
- Fought on par with Oboro[5]
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
Fire God’s Hammer: Kaname’s Sigil enables to reproduce objects he is familiar with, keeping their same exact power and sturdiness. Summoning any object takes less than 1 second, he can summon multiple objects at once, and he has mastered how to rapidly summon-spam weapons. He can also overwrite a summoned objects, essentially turning an object into another[26]. However, it has limits: he can only create objects that have a clearly defined purpose, like weapons or daily utensils, and doesn’t work on complex multi-purpose tools (like mobile phones) or raw materials. His creations last either until he loses consciousness, he touches them and decides to cancel them, or if he's more than 2 kilometers away from them. The range of effect decreases the more created items are active at once.

- Firearms
- RPD Machine Gun
