Summary

Kotaro Minami (南 光太郎, Minami Kōtarō) is the main protagonist of Kamen Rider Black Sun. During his youth, his father implanted the Kingstone into his body, transforming him into a Kaijin alongside his childhood friend, Nobuhiko Akizuki. Growing up, he and Nobuhiko joined the Gorgom movement in 1972 to campaign for Kaijin equal rights, but he left once the organization splintered. In 2022, Kotaro would be entangled in the conflict between Kaijins and humans again. This time, He transforms into Kamen Rider Black Sun (仮面ライダーBLACK SUN, Kamen Raidā Burakku San) to protect Aoi Izumi, a young pro-Kaijin activist against the now-corrupt Gorgom Party.

• Energy Reactor is the central unit functions as a detonator and reactor, generating the power required for transformation and battle. If the Kingstone is present within, the output will increase and a peculiar power may appear.

The Century King Black Blade (世紀王ブラックブレード, Seiki Ō Burakku Burēdo) is Kamen Rider Black Sun's personal weapon. It was created from the grasshoper leg ripped from Black Sun's body. The weapon can only be created twice because he is unable to regenerate lost limbs.

The Battle Hopper (バトルホッパー, Batoru Hoppā) is Kamen Rider Black Sun's personal Rider Machine. Battle Hopper's engine was built with the purpose of lasting a century; it performs as well as new with minimal refueling and maintenance. The armor is sturdy enough to survive a certain amount of gunfire and explosives, allowing it to be employed as a combat vehicle on the front lines. The wheels are resistant to collisions and may land safely even when jumping from a great height.

Intelligence: Above Average in combat (Kotaro is a experienced fighter who has defeated Nobuhiko twice, who has fought against government forces on multiple times between 1972 and 2022. He easily beat Bilgenia in combat, who take down an entire special police team with one arm. He's fought a variety of Kaijin, who employ unconventional fighting techniques including telekinesis and bestial tactics. While untransformed, he defeated government guards and normal Kaijins effortlessly. He also taught Aoi martial arts.
