Summary

Kotaro Minami (南 光太郎) is the main protagonist of both Kamen Rider Black and Kamen Rider Black RX. After the downfall of Gorgom, Kotaro has gotten a job as a helicopter pilot in a business owned by the Sahara family, who have also taken him into their home. Kotaro is later captured by the Crisis Empire and offered a place in their group. When Kotaro refused, his Kingstone was shattered and he was thrown into space where the sun's radiation mutated his Kingstone and he mutated into Kamen Rider Black RX (仮面ライダーBLACK RX). With his new powers, he battles the Crisis Empire and thwarts their plans to take over Earth.

Sunriser

In Kamen Rider Black RX, Kohtaro's Kingstone responded to Kohtaro's crisis and by absorbing sunlight, became the Rider Transformation Belt Sunriser (ライダー変身ベルト サンライザー, Raidā Henshin Beruto Sanraisā). The Sunriser is RX's transformation belt. In response to Black's evolution, Sunriser enables Kohtaro to communicate telepathically and use sunlight to power RX up. That factor places RX at a disadvantage while in an area devoid of sunlight. The Sunriser also allows for Form Change, changing its design to suit the form, as well as providing RX with versatility.

Wrist Bit

The Wrist Bit (リストビット, Risuto Bitto) is Kamen Rider Black RX's wrist-mounted communicator that he uses to summon his vehicles. Each form has a different design.

Revolcane

The Photon Sword Revolcane (光子剣リボルケイン, Kōshi Ken Riborukien) is Black RX's sword that comes out from his Sunriser belt and it glows upon use, typically when executing the Revolcrash (リボルクラッシュ, Riboru Kurasshu) finishing attack, sending unlimited energy to the enemy.

Vortech Shooter

The Vortech Shooter (ボルティックシューター, Borutikku Shūtā) is Roborider's signature pistol weapon that is formed from the right side of his body. It can shoot a powerful solar blast that can destroy an enemy in one blow in the Hard Shot (ハードショット, Hādo Shotto) attack. As it is powered by sunlight, this gun's range is limitless and it never misses the target.

Bio Blade

The Bio Blade (バイオブレード, Baio Burēdo) is Biorider's signature weapon formed from the left side of his body. Like the Revolcane, the Bio Blade also glows when it is used, primarily when performing the Spark Cutter (スパークカッター, Spāku Kattā) attack, where Biorider slashes his enemies in one blow.

Acrobatter

Acrobatter (アクロバッター, Akurobattā) is the revived version of Battle Hopper. It is now capable of speaking coherent Japanese and often has conversations with Kohtaro. Whenever BLACK RX transforms into any of his two other forms, it does the same.

Roboizer

Acrobatter transforms into Roboizer (ロボイザー, Roboizā) when RX becomes Roborider. This mode of Acrobatter's has two blasters mounted at its rear.

Macjabber

Acrobatter transforms into Macjabber (マックジャバー, Makku Jabā) when RX becomes Biorider.

Ridoron

Heavy Equipment Machine Ridoron (重装騎マシン ライドロン, Jūsō-ki Mashin Raidoron), alternatively called Ridelone, is a high-speed Rider Machine car created by Kohtaro based on the blueprints given to him by Prof. Walter, a scientist in one of the colonies the Crisis Empire set up. Though immobile at first, Kohtaro brought Ridoron into the cave of Whale Mutant where he was brought back to life in Kamen Rider Black. Able to reach speeds up to 1500 km (932 mph) and even transcend the flow of time, Ridoron can travel over land and sea and has two extendable mandibles on the front used to smash obstacles or ram into enemies. Like Acrobatter, it's highly intelligent and can speak.

Intelligence: Genius (Was able to build Ridoron using the blueprints created by Dr. Waldo, a car that can perform dimensional and time travel.[71] Created a fake Ridoron in a timeframe of minutes to trick Gungadin.[71] Could analyze Gedoll Ridoll's energy absorption by calculating its unit absorbed per second, and explore this to grant himself advantage.[50] Biorider is said to have an unpredictable fighting style through using his liquefying abilities.[54] Could quickly find a way to trick Chaps into switching himself with dolls during a car chase.[12] Can pretend to be dead by transforming into Biorider and Roborider in a split-second,[6] protecting his internal organs and fool Crisis[55])

Weaknesses: His Sunbask is vulnerable to damage, which can severe all of his energy, however it can be quickly regenerated by the Kingstone. Roborider is vulnerable to magnetic forces, and is slower in comparison to his other forms.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Revolcrash (リボルクラッシュ, Riborukurasshu): RX's most frequently used and most powerful special move, in which he thrusts the enemy with his Revolcane, diffusing the hybrid energy into his body and detonating it internally along with the filling peak. The torrent of energy sparks erupt from the point where it pierces the enemy. After pulling the Revolcane out of the target, RX moves away from the target and makes a "R" with the Revolcane, and the target is killed by the explosion when the Revolcane is finally swung down. In most of the times, monsters from Crisis Empire are defeated by the Revolcrash. There are variations such as jumping high into the air and thrusting with a dive, thrusting with acceleration on Acrobatter, or throwing it at a distant enemy and piercing it.
  • RX Kick (RXキック, RX Kikku): A special kick from high in the air with more than three times the power of the Rider Kick of Kamen Rider Black. Like the Black's Rider Kick, in which the friction with the air caused the toes to glow, both toes glow red, but the major difference is that the kick is now performed with both feet and the hybrid energy inside the body is launched. There are variations, such as hitting the ground with the right hand, performing it after a backward somersault, twisting the body, or incorporating all of these actions, but the name "RX Kick" remains the same in the film. It was used as a connecting technique for the Revolclash, but in the final battle with Gatezone, it is the finishing blow. It may be kicked from the back or inverted. In addition, even in a normal attack kick that does not emit light from the toes, the RX is generally kicked with both feet, but sometimes with the right foot.
  • RX Chop (RXチョップ, RX Choppu) and RX Punch (RXパンチ, RX Panchi): Both, like the RX Kick, are three times as powerful as in the Kamen Rider Black period. However, as of the Black and RX Super Collection in 1992, the punch speed is described as one-third of the Black's Rider Punch and Chop (three times faster).
  • RX Throw (RX投げ, RX Nage): A technique to monstrously throw an enemy heavier than oneself by throwing the enemy 100 meters or more with a backstrap or spinning throw, and then slamming the enemy to the ground.
  • Macro Eye (マクロアイ, Makuro Ai): Black's Multi-Eye is an enhanced bilateral compound eye. In addition to the telephoto, wide field of view, and night vision of the multi-eyes, it also has an infrared function. It was used against Gedoll Ridoll to cut through a gap when he was replenishing his energy.
  • Solar Radar (ソーラーレーダー, Sōrā Rēdā): In conjunction with the central lamp psychoindicator on the forehead, it searches for radio and sound waves, as well as detecting information on water sources and epicenters.
  • Kingstone Flash (キングストーンフラッシュ, Kingusutōn Furasshu): This technique, which can be used continuously from Black, releases a flash of Kingstone energy from the Sunriser.   • Robo Punch (ロボパンチ, Robo Panchi): A punch in Roborider form that is 1.2 times more powerful than the "RX Punch". He often punches with both fists. It can also absorb flame energy to further increase the power of its punches.
  • Robo Kick (ロボキック, Robo Kikku): Putting all his strength into his legs, he unleashes a powerful kick that is 1.2 times more powerful than the "RX Kick".
