Summary

Jackie Fiasco is an intern at Fizzle Beverages and the main protagonist of the game Going Under. Although she joined the company for the marketing internship, she was quickly forced to delve into the dungeons underneath the building, and fight the many monsters that inhabit them.

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Acrobatics (can perform dodge rolls to avoid attacks), Weapon Mastery (Capable of wielding a large number of weapon, such as swords, crossbows and spears. Is capable of using many objects as powerful melee weapons, such as chairs, computer monitors, and thumbtacks), Vehicular Mastery (can pilot vehicles, such as cars and minecarts), Dimensional Storage (can store multiple weapons on her person). Resistance to Ice Manipulation (can endure hazards that freeze enemies solid, without being frozen herself), Fire Manipulation (Can quickly recover from being set on fire by dodge rolling), Soul Manipulation (Humans in Going Under are born with a magnetic field that surrounds their soul, which protects them against attempts to analyze it) and Biological Manipulation (unaffected by the company 'going under', which transformed everyone else in the building into fish people.)

Durability: Wall level (Can endure the explosion of dynamite and other explosive weapons. can tank hits from enemies comparable to herself.) Possibly Small Building level (Can endure her own fire based attacks. was able to survive an explosion powerful enough to destroy the top floor of a building during her fight with AVIE.)

Stamina: Very High, constantly ventures into dungeons, clearing multiple floors and defeating hoards of monsters, without tiring.

Range: Extended Melee Range with most weapons. at least several meters with ranged skills and weapons.

Intelligence: Likely Above Average.

Weaknesses: Her weapons have limited durability, and break after extended use. Can normally only hold three weapons at any single time, up to 15 with the Deep Pockets skill.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Skills: Skills are passive abilities that Jackie can acquire throughout her adventure. Their is no limit to the amount of skills she can have at any given time.

Enemies who are hit with fire based skills are ignited, causing them to take damage over time.

  • Halt and Catch Fire: causes enemies to automatically catch on fire once knocked down.
  • Hot-headed: After killing an enemy with a charged attack, lights nearby enemies on fire.
  • Hot Shot: Throwing an item automatically causes it to ignite, burning anything it touches
  • Trailblazer: Performing a dodge roll automatically ignites the ground she was standing on.
  • Bridge Burner: All fire based attacks and abilities deal double the amount of damage.
  • Fiery Glare: Focusing on an enemy occasionally causes them to ignite, burning them. This can be done at any range as long as Jackie can focus on them.

Enemies who are hit with ice based skills are frozen, incasing them in ice and preventing them from moving. While frozen, enemies can still be damaged, as well as picked up and used as weapons.

  • Ice Breaker: When a weapon is nearly broken, the final hit will freeze the enemy, incasing them in ice.
  • Cold Shoulder: Taking armor damage freezes all enemies around Jackie.
  • Cold Caller: Thrown items have a chance to freeze enemies on contact.
  • Chilling Glare: Focusing on an enemy occasionally causes them to freeze.

Enemies who are hit with electric based skills are shocked, damaging them and preventing them from moving for a few seconds.

  • Beta Tester: Using an app creates an electric shock that electrocutes nearby enemies.
  • Conflict Resolver: Taking damage shocks all nearby enemies.
  • Disruptive: Hitting an enemy with a critical hit shocks them.

  • Action-Oriented: Jackie takes no damage from explosion's, and they deal increased damage, if she faces away from them.
  • Bomb Dropper: Jackie drops a bomb whenever she dodge rolls, which explode after a brief time.
  • Explosive Temper: Jackie emits an explosion around herself every 15-30 seconds, dealing damage to everything within range.
  • Exit Strategist: After crawling under an object, exiting a crawl will create an explosion on whatever object she was crawling under.
  • Volatile : Thrown weapons explode after a short delay, destroying the item and damaging anything within range.

  • Aggressive: When a weapon is nearly broken, the final hit will deal 4 times normal damage.
  • Beggar Queen: Increases the damage Jackie deals with all weapon attacks, but causes less money to appear.
  • Crushin' It: Allows blunt weapons to ignore the targets armor when damaging them.
  • Heavy Hitter Increases the damage Jackie deals with heavy weapons.
  • Fragile Ego: Increases the damage weapons deal, but decreases their durability, causing them to break quicker.
  • Free Hand: Allows Jackie to wield two-handed weapons with one hand.
  • Keep It Simple, Stupid: Jackie weapons gain bonus damage, when carrying two or more of the same item.
  • Large & In Charge: Automatically increases the size of Jackie weapons while she is holding them, increasing their effective range.
  • Loaded for Bear: Jackie's Guns fire faster and have twice as much ammo.
  • Pugilist: Increases the damage of Jackie's unarmed attacks.
  • Quirky: All weapons gain random modifiers on pick up.
  • Scaled Up: Automatically increases the size of all items while Jackie is holding them, as well as increasing their damage. Stacks with Large & In Charge
  • Scrappy: Increases the damage Jackie deals with "Junk" items, which encompasses most items that aren't conventional weapons, such as cardboard boxes, chairs, barrels, etc.
  • She Don't Miss: Items that Jackie throws will curve midair in an attempt to hit the nearest enemy.
  • Spear Header: Hitting an enemy with the very tip of a spear will cause it to do double damage. Also applies to similar weapons, such as pitchforks, stakes, etc.
  • Sword Mastery: performing a charge attack with a sharp weapon launches a laser.
  • Upper Body Strength: Allows Jackie to wield heavy weapons without slowing her movement, and allows her to not drop them while dodge rolling.
  • Yeet!: Allows Jackie to throw items much farther and much faster than normal.

  • Aggro Pal: Spawns a friendly crab that walks around the room which occasionally emits a ring that buffs Jackie.
  • Chumpette: Spawns a friendly Chump Chains that is attaches itself to Jackie. Damages nearby enemies and is immune to most attacks.
  • Digital Nomad: Gives Jackie a random app every few rooms.
  • Eclaire-as-a-Service: Summons a dog who sniffs out valuable items nearby, such as apps and containers.
  • Emotive: Every time Jackie is damaged, an allied Emoozi is created, which attack nearby enemies.
  • Friends In High Places: Summons an allied Cubicle drone that fires laser beams at nearby enemies.
  • Party Animal: Jackie automatically gains a Ping Pong Ball whenever she has no weapons in her inventory. Their is no limit to the amount of Ping Pong Balls that can be created with this skill.
  • Personal Cloud: Creates a cloud that hovers above Jackie. The cloud occasionally strikes the ground with an explosion, damaging and shocking nearby enemies.
  • The Cleaner: Summons a friendly Roomba with a knife attached to the top. damages nearby enemies on contact.
  • Unapproachable: Creates a sawblade that orbits around Jackie, damaging anything that it touches.

Several skills in Going Under inflict the "Charm" status effect. While enemies are under this effect, they do not attack Jackie, and, if possible, will attack any enemy around them, effectively becoming one of Jackie allies for a limited time. Those skills, alongside other skills that affect the enemies mind, are listed below.

  • Aggro Crab's Blessing: Every time Jackie enters an area, their is a chance that all enemies will fight each other instead of her.
  • Recruiter: By spending money, she can buy the soul of a chosen enemy, turning them into an ally that fights for Jackie permanently until death. the amount of money required depends on the enemy type.
  • Charismatic: Gives Jackie a small discount in all shops. Not combat applicable.
  • Chillaxed: Enemies will wait a few seconds before attacking Jackie, instead of attacking her immediately.
  • Fake It Til You Make It: Jackie starts combat in a disguise, which prevents enemies from attacking her. upon damaging the enemy, the disguise is dropped, causing enemies to attack.
  • Intimating :. Jackie gains a small chance to instantly knock all nearby enemies down whenever she enters combat.
  • Pickup Artist: damaging an enemy with a critical hit will temporarily charm them.
  • Thought Leader: Jackie gains a chance to temporarily charm an enemy by focusing on them.
  • Win Friends & Influence Monsters: Jackie gains a high chance to convert the last enemy in combat into an ally, causing them to permanently fight for Jackie until death.

  • Bloodsucker: Jackie gains a small chance to heal herself after defeating an enemy
  • Clap Back: Upon taking damage, Jackie emits a shockwave that knocks down and damages nearby enemies.
  • Composed: Upon taking damage, Jackie becomes invincible for a limited time.
  • Defensive: gaining a healing effect while already at full health will instead grant Jackie armor.
  • Disaster-Proof: Jackie becomes immune to being ignited, frozen, or shocked.
  • Downsized: Jackie becomes much smaller, and slightly faster. While in this state, she retains her normal strength, and becomes much harder to hit.
  • Fail Forward: After being defeated, Jackie is automatically revived with one heart, and gains a small increase in strength. This skill can only be used once.
  • Good Consumer: Allows Jackie to gain armor by eating bricked phones.
  • Lower Body Strength: Prevents Jackie from taking knockback from damage, allowing her to endure attacks that would normally knock her back.
  • Noncommittal: When Jackie is charging a melee attack, she will automatically teleport away from any attack, preventing her from being damaged.
  • On The Clock: By performing a dodge roll to barely dodge an incoming attack, Jackie can inflict the slow status effect on the attacker, decreasing their movement and attack speed for a few seconds.
  • Over-Protective: Jackie loses a single heart, but gains four armor. This skill can only be used once.
  • Purchase Protection: Jackie gains one armor whenever she spends 10$ or more.
  • Room For Growth: Jackie gains one empty heart container.
  • Team Player: When Jackie takes an attack, the damage is instead transferred to a nearby ally. Does not work if their are no allies alive.
  • The Best Defense: Jackie gains a single point of armor whenever she breaks an enemies armor.
  • Thick Skin: Projectiles that hit Jackie automatically bounce off of her, nullifying their damage.
  • Vertically Integrated: Replaces Jackie dodge roll with a dodge jump.
  • Vindictive: Allows Jackie to regain lost health by quickly defeating the last monster that hurt her.

  • Agile: Increases how fast Jackie can dodge roll.
  • Buzzkill: Jackie gains a high chance to land a critical hit on enemies who are at full health.
  • Cash Injection: Temporarily increases Jackie damage whenever she picks up money.
  • Financial Gains: Increases the damage Jackie deals depending on how much money is inside her wallet.
  • Good Under Pressure: Jackie gains increased critical hit chance at low health.
  • Go-Getter: Increases the speed at which Jackie runs and attacks.
  • Move Fast and Break Things: Breaking objects temporality increases Jackie's movement and attack speed.
  • Open Minded: Jackie gains a higher chance to critical hit when she is not focusing on an enemy.
  • Penny Puncher: Causes Jackie to earn money the first time she lands a critical hit on an enemy. Additionally, this skill increases her critical hit chance.
  • People Person: Jackie damage increases the more people are nearby, including herself.
  • Perfectionist: Jackie gains increased damage. This damage bonus is lost when she takes damage.
  • Retaliatory: Jackie deals double damage briefly after being hit.
  • Self-Starter: Jackie deals double damage briefly at the start of battle.
  • Stress Eater: Eating food increases Jackie damage for a limited time.
  • Swing for the Fences Jackie attacks have increased knockback, and deal more damage when they are launched into walls.
  • Wear Many Hats Increases Jackie strength proportional to how many hats she wears.

Many of these skills aren't applicable for combat.

  • Blood Money: Allows Jackie to purchase items with health instead of money.
  • Cubicle Rewards Member: Allows Jackie to find more money in containers.
  • Deep Pockets: Allows Jackie to store 12 additional items in her inventory, allowing her to carry a total of 15 items on her person. Also allows her to store heavy items, that are too large for her to store normally.
  • Digital Nomad: Jackie gains a random app every few rooms.
  • Hard Headed: Allows Jackie to damage enemies by dodge rolling into them.
  • Phone Addict: Allows Jackie to find apps more frequently.
  • Power User: Gives Jackie one additional use for all Apps.
  • Short Term Investor: Upon taking this skill, Jackie loses all the money on her person. After reaching the next floor, Jackie gains her money back, plus an extra 50% to 75% of what she invested.
  • Sweat Equity: Picking up money causes all nearby enemies to trip, temporarily stopping their movement and leaving them vulnerable to attack.
  • Time is Money: Jackie earns double the amount of money, but she steadily loses money overtime.

Modifiers: Every weapon that Jackie picks up has a small chance of having a modifier, which alters the stats of the weapon. These modifiers can also be applied to weapons with the Upcycle App, as well as the Quirky skill. The modifiers include the following:

  • Durability Up: increases the durability of a weapon, allowing it to be used longer without breaking.
  • Attack Speed Up: Increases how fast Jackie can attack with the weapon.
  • Damage Up: Increases how much damage the weapon deals.
  • Critical Chance Up: Increases the chance of a critical hit, which does 1.5x more damage than a regular attack.
  • Smart After throwing a weapon with this modifier, the item will continue to throw itself at the closest enemy, until the enemy dies or the weapon breaks.
