Summary
Izuku Midoriya (緑谷出久 Midoriya Izuku), also known as Deku (デク Deku), was one of the 20 percent of people on Earth to be born without a Quirk, a natural superpower that is a basic biological function in the modern society, earning him endless amounts of torment and bullying in school. However, by being granted the Quirk One for All by his idol All Might, he has managed to grow into one of the greatest heroes on the planet.
As time went on, Deku encountered many villains and heroes who changed his perspective on the superpower society. He has become more understanding of the dark side of society, as well as those who suffer silently for not being born as lucky as others. As he has begun to fully awaken the power of One For All, he has been drawn into the direct sight of All For One, whose manipulation of Tomura Shigaraki has become a desperate task that Deku strives to put an end to. Resolved, he heads toward a final confrontation with the villains of society, the goal of fixing this broken system as well as bringing an end to the cycle of All For One and One For All, weighing heavy on his shoulders.

- Self-Body Puppetry (Able to use Blackwhip to pull up at his tendons and muscles to force his body to move even when severely injured and immobilized,[34] in a form that is called "Overlay"[35])
- Bodily Weaponry (Can manifest powerful claws out of Blackwhip while in his Overlay form[36])
- Limited Soul Manipulation (Can transfer One For All in such a violent way that it can hurt the very spirit of the receiver,[12] which is then reflected onto their physical body, breaking both soul and body into pieces.[37] Wielders of One For All can fight and repel intruders who enter their soul,[38] and can even destroy other souls[39])
- Resistance to:
- Power Absorption (One For All cannot be forcibly stolen, as overriding its rules would require emotions too powerful for one person to bear.[40] The vestiges inside Deku can battle and reject those who try to steal his Quirks[38])
- Mind Manipulation (His strong will allowed him to overpower Shinso's Brainwash and move his fingertip on his own.[41] The vestiges of One For All were able to fight against All For One and Shigaraki's attempt to steal One For All in the vestige world, with Deku forcing them out after steeling his resolve. After this event, the vestiges became even more present and are further capable of interfering with mental attacks[42])
- Fear Inducement (He managed to fight off the combined willpower of All For One and Shigaraki,[38] whose mere presence can provoke "utter fear of death" and make people submit to their will[43])
- Heat (Can take the severe heat of Dynamight's nitroglycerin-like explosions,[44] which could incinerate clothes and reach temperatures of about 5,000 °C. Comparable to All Might, who was able to directly attack beings made out of superheated plasma.[7] Took Dabi's Flashfire Fist without any severe burns[45])
- Electricity (Survived getting hit by lightning for an extended period of time and while in the air[6])
- Cold (Endured being completely encased by Shoto's ice without showing any signs of pain or afflictions in his movements[46])

- Limited Resistance to Poison (His mouthguard can be utilized a gas mask to protect him from inhaling toxic gases[48])
Attack Potency: Multi-City Block level (Deku is in far better physical condition compared to before,[Statistic Value 1] allowing him to use higher percentages of One For All[49]), Small City level with 30% (Far exceeds the power of his 20%[Statistic Value 2]), Multi-Continent level with 45% (While inferior, Deku was strong enough to hurt Incomplete Shigaraki's stomach with a kick,[1] who is just as durable as All Might.[50] His strikes carry enough force to stagger a Full Power Muscular[51][Statistic Value 3]), far higher with 100% (Is far stronger than his 45% and his previous 100%. His punches at 100% are able to break apart Shigaraki's jaw[52][Statistic Value 4]), even higher with Fa Jin (Is capable of stockpiling the energy of five hits and releasing all of that power in a single blow[30][Statistic Value 5]) | Multi-City Block level, Multi-Continent level with Full Cowl (With a single punch, he cleared the skies from Japan to the United States of America while weakened.[53][Statistic Value 6] After going beyond his limits, he managed to beat Rampage Form Dark Might, whom he could not harm before in his Golden Age Form[54]), far higher with 100% (Stated that One For All is slightly more powerful than what All Might had at his disposal[39][Statistic Value 7]), even higher with Fa Jin and Gearshift (Fa Jin can store the combined power of his Detroit Smash Quintuple,[33] making its release more than five times stronger than normal.[Statistic Value 8] This power can increase even further by using Gearshift: Overdrive, a technique so powerful it could punch a hole into Shigaraki.[33] Was stated to be able to charge enough energy to annihilate Shigaraki's body with a single attack, leaving no trace of him behind[32])
Speed: Supersonic (Capable of moving at these speeds[23][Statistic Value 9]) with Hypersonic+ reactions and combat speed (Faster than when he reacted to Nine's Hydras.[6] Can dodge a laser that could hit him at his 10%[25][Statistic Value 10]), High Hypersonic with 30% (Superior to his 20%,[Statistic Value 11] which Overhaul could barely keep up with[55]), Relativistic+ with 45% (Surpassed the speed of Gran Torino to save Eraser Head from Incomplete Shigaraki.[56] His Blackwhip could outspeed Shigaraki,[52] who is as quick as Star and Stripe, who could avoid Radio Waves[57][Statistic Value 12]), far higher with 100% (His Faux 100% is quick enough to blitz Lady Nagant and travel multiple times faster than even her fastest bullets[30]), even higher with Fa Jin (Can use Fa Jin to build up energy and go far beyond his 100%[46]) | Supersonic with Hypersonic+ reactions and combat speed (Quicker than he was before), Relativistic+ with Full Cowl (While seriously injured and tired, he was able to take All For One by complete surprise,[58] who can easily avoid a Flashfire blow from Shoto and Endeavor, and was stated to be too fast for most heroes[59]), far higher with 100% (Could battle on par with Complete Shigaraki,[31] whose speed is comparable to All Might at his prime.[60][Statistic Value 13] Stated to be able to travel over 200 kilometers in an instant[61]), even higher with Fa Jin (Able to take Shigaraki by surprise[62]), much higher with Gearshift (His Second Gear blitzed Shigaraki to the point he couldn't perceive what happened,[31] with following Gears enhancing his speed even more[33]) and Overlay (Can keep up with the speed of Full Power Shigaraki[34])
Lifting Strength: Class K (Superior to Shinso, who managed to rip two steel pipes off their hinges[63][Statistic Value 14]), Class G with 30% (Vastly stronger than 20%, which was capable of grappling with Flect Turn,[25] who can block and repel millions of tons of force[Statistic Value 15]), Class P with 45% (Is strong enough to fully restrain and bind even Incomplete Shigaraki,[64] whose lifting strength is on par with All Might's, who could exert over a hundred trillion tons of force[65][Statistic Value 16]), far higher with 100% (Able to rip apart Rivet Stab,[66] which could overpower All Might[67]) | Class K (Stronger than before), Class P with Full Cowl (Superior to his 45%), far higher with 100% (Can easily hold back the strength of Complete Shigaraki,[31] who's far stronger than Star and Stripe, who can leap with a force close to half a quadrillion tons.[57][Statistic Value 17] Capable of restraining Full Power Shigaraki, even when he had access to all of his Quirks[68]), even higher with Blackwhip and Fa Jin (Able to boost his restraining power by combining Blackwhip with Fa Jin[31])
Striking Strength: Multi-City Block level, Small City level with 30%, Multi-Continent level with 45%, far higher with 100%, even higher with Fa Jin | Multi-City Block level, Multi-Continent level with Full Cowl, far higher with 100%, even higher with Fa Jin and Gearshift
Durability: Large Town level (More durable than when he took the recoil of punching with his 10%[25]), Small City level with 30% (Has much greater durability than in his 20%), Multi-Continent level with 45% (Can survive a brutal elbow strike from Shigaraki,[64] who's easily as strong as a Weakened All Might.[50] Withstood an Air Cannon from Shigaraki,[11] who tried but couldn't think of any other way to put him down) and Mid-Gauntlets (Managed to block a single shot from Lady Nagant's Rifle Arm,[2] which could have severely harmed 45% Deku otherwise. He wears two pairs of Mid-Gauntlets,[69] which reinforce his whole body[49]), far higher with 100% (Grants him durability that far exceeds his 45% and Endeavor's[66]), even higher with Iron Soles (His strongest blow at Full Cowl 100% cannot break them[21]) | Large Town level, Multi-Continent level with Full Cowl (Can endure the recoil of his own strikes), far higher with 100% (Tanked a mighty punch from Complete Shigaraki without breaking a sweat.[31] Can survive energetic blasts from Full Power Shigaraki[70]), even higher with Iron Soles and Mid-Gauntlets, much higher with Blackwhip (Can wrap himself in many layers of Blackwhip to stave off lethal blows[71])
Stamina: Superhuman (His incredible stamina has only grown as he continued his training to complete One For All. After the events that took place in the All-Out War, he has proven to be capable of defeating villains and traveling all throughout the country for several weeks, if not months,[72] without having rested and while keeping One For All on at all times, showing levels of stamina comparable to All Might during his prime. Even while extremely exhausted, he could still drive back the combined effort of Class 1-A,[9] and refused to take a break until he spoke to All Might.[73] His immense pain tolerance has grown even further, to a point that even breaking his bones many times over hardly hinders his physical abilities.[11] He has also been able to resist the pain of bullet wounds for about a month.[72] Can survive an extended battle against Shigaraki while having trouble breathing, forcing his body to move far beyond his limits, and crippled with agonizing pain all over[34])
Range: Standard Melee Range, Varies from Hundreds of Meters to Tens of Kilometers with One For All (At 30% of One For All, his range is superior to 20%, which can create large air blasts and form massive tornadoes hundreds of meters in size.[6] His 45% can generate shock waves big enough to spread across a city.[74] His 100% is strong enough to destroy a storm, as well as create a tornado ten kilometers tall.[6] Comparable to All Might, who could shift the weather of a region[17]), Hundreds of Meters with Blackwhip (The Pinpoint Focus skill managed to reach Lady Nagant from a large distance away[75]) and Smokescreen (Can cover a few city blocks with his smoke while it was raining[27]) | Standard Melee Range, up to Thousands of Kilometers with One For All (His punches can unleash winds so powerful that they dispersed a storm of unprecedented size and cleared the skies across the United States of America[53]), Kilometers with Blackwhip (Can use Blackchain to lift a huge chunk of land from a long distance away[34]) and Smokescreen (Created a smoke cloud the size of Mount Fuji[12])
Standard Equipment: His Hero Costume, which includes the Air Force Gloves to focus and add directionality to his wind blasts, and the Iron Soles to enhance the power of his kicks. In the events following the All-Out War Arc, All Might brought from America the Mid-Gauntlets, which reinforce Deku's whole body and allows him to safely use greater percentages of One For All. However, they are unable to endure Deku's power at 100%. The Mid-Gauntlets ended up destroyed after a month of constant battles against villains, so Hatsume gave him a new version of these gauntlets combined with his Air Force Gloves.
Intelligence: Gifted, Genius Combatant (Has gained invaluable experience fighting villains relentlessly for about a month before finally resting at U.A. School. His prediction skills have developed to such an extent that he was able to analyze Lady Nagant's movement patterns and accurately track her location down based solely on the trajectory of her bullets, even at night and under heavy rain. He quickly mastered Fa Jin amid battle despite first using it just a few minutes earlier. He has showcased the ability to perform multiple mental processes at once, effectively multitasking, an ability that is considered not possible for the human brain. Can instantly put into practice ideas he comes up with in the heat of battle. His respect and admiration for Quirks allows him to tap into One For All's true potential. Capable of adjusting the transfer of One For All in such a way that the barest fragment would remain intact)
In addition to his own intelligence, in Deku's mind reside the consciousnesses of the former eight bearers of his Quirk, who have steadily awoken as One For All has stockpiled strength. These past users can talk freely with Deku and thus give him information and advice during his battles.
Standard Tactics: Deku starts his battles by activating One For All at its maximum potency available, and along with it he wears around his neck multiple strands of Blackwhip charged with Fa Jin to use his Blackchain or for later attacks. Deku will try to end the fight quickly by immediately using his Gearshift, which he will continue to use as the fight develops. If Deku is pushed to such a point that his Gearshift becomes a liability, he will consider granting the opponent this Quirk in such a violent manner that it damages their very soul, while using his Overlay form to simulate the speed he had with Gearshift.
Weaknesses: Using 100% of One For All's power will break the bones of the limb on which it is used. During the Final War Arc this is no longer a weakness, as Deku has gained complete expertise over One For All. Danger Sense has a range limit, as it was not able to detect Lady Nagant's bullet until it was closer to him. Danger Sense will not activate if the enemy has no malice or intent to hurt Deku, which can catch him off-guard. Considerably strong negative emotions can cause Danger Sense to be overstimulated. Blackwhip can get out of control if the user doesn't keep his emotions in check. One For All is susceptible to being stolen if the thief's will is stronger than user's. One of the problems of using Gearshift for too long is that Deku's body will not receive enough oxygen to properly function, as such, he usually tries to limit his time in this state for 5 minutes. Although, he was shown fighting Shigaraki for more than 20 minutes while relying on Gearshift to keep up.
- Outpaced Lady Nagant's fastest bullet from hundreds of meters away.
- His attacks with Gearshift: Overdrive carry so much energy that they are warping the very laws governing reality.
- He can create shock waves massive enough to dwarf Mount Fuji.
- He was stated to be able to annihilate Shigaraki's body with a single blow.
- Despite only having the embers of One For All, Deku was still the only hero that could actually harm Shigaraki's body.
- His attacks are so powerful that they can blew away a storm cloud of unprecedented size and clear the skies over the United States of America for an entire week.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
One For All: Deku's Quirk gives him access to the accumulated energy of the eight wielders before him, granting him a vast boost in power. He has proven to be able to properly control certain percentages of One For All, utilizing it to increase his strength, durability, and speed. However, his limbs can be seriously damaged if he doesn't spread One For All evenly across his body. By exerting this power to its fullest, Deku becomes comparable to All Might during his prime. He also has full access to all the abilities of the former One For All wielders, which have been greatly bolstered over time.
- Wyoming Smash: Deku draws 100% of his strength into his left arm, then proceeds to strike down his opponent on their head, releasing an immensely powerful shock wave. This smash attack was first used against Shigaraki during the war with the Paranormal Liberation Front.
- Detroit Smash: A signature move Deku mimicked from All Might. The move is a simple and straightforward punch focusing all of One For All's stored power into the fist. Used by Deku in countless battles, this move is powerful enough to generate massive shock waves and blow away even the strongest opponents.
- Texas Smash: Deku concentrates all his strength into his right fist, and then launches a mighty smash with enough power to blast a city with air pressure. A super technique first used against Shigaraki to overload his regenerative abilities.
- Delaware Smash: Deku uses his whole hand and in combination with Fa Jin, unleash an immensely powerful blast of wind, capable of gouging out the ground underneath. He used this super attack against Shigaraki to stop the villain's Decay from destroying Mount Fuji and the rest of Japan.
One For All: Full Cowl: This technique allows him to use up to 45% of One For All across his whole body, making the energy flow through him instead of concentrating it in just a single place. Activating this technique gives him enhanced strength, durability, and speed. It also prevents him from shattering his bones whenever he uses One For All. However, in extreme situations, he can use Full Cowl up to 100% at the cost of severe damage to his body.
- One For All: Full Cowl - 30%: A technique that allows Deku to consistently use 30% of One For All without any drawbacks, gaining a strength above all previous percentages. He used this level of One For All near the end of his first year of high school, during the war against the Paranormal Liberation Front. He initially used 30% alongside 45% until he could use the latter percentage normally.
- One For All: Full Cowl - 45%: After his strenuous training with All Might and Endeavor, and his brutal battle with Shigaraki, Deku manages to raise his output of One For All to 45% throughout his entire body, increasing the amount of strength at his disposal to a much greater extent than ever before. This was the level of One For All during the Dark Hero Arc. He can temporarily break this limit using other Quirks such as Fa Jin.
- One For All: Full Cowl - 100%: Deku activates One For All to its greatest extent across his body, granting him a tremendous boost in strength and speed, reaching All Might's level of power and allowing him to defeat Overhaul in his final form. He was able to use Full Cowl 100% during his fights against Nine and Flect Turn without requiring the help of Eri's Rewind Quirk. Deku was finally able to completely master 100% during the Final War Arc, granting him power beyond even All Might at his prime.
One For All: Full Cowl - Shoot Style: A variation of Full Cowl that Deku developed to solve the issues caused by his increasingly damaged arms. He channels the power of One For All primarily into his legs and lower torso, allowing him to use their natural greater strength to enhance his firepower. Shoot Style consists of maneuvering the body with fast and precise movements to deliver mighty kicks, making Deku an incredibly mobile and agile combatant.
- St. Louis Smash Air Force: Deku performs his signature St. Louis Smash using 45% of One For All's full output, firing a massive shock wave the size of several city blocks. He used this move to stop Shigaraki's Decay from spreading across a city.
- Faux 100% Manchester Smash: Deku uses 45% of One For All and then combines it with other Quirks such as Fa Jin and a slingshot version of Blackwhip to enhance his speed and deliver a mighty kick comparable to a 100% attack. He used this technique to blitz Lady Nagant and break her Rifle Arm.
Vestiges of One For All: Although they were once just mere shadows in the back of Deku's mind, the accumulation of energy has reached a point where the eight former users of One For All, despite being long dead or no longer having the Quirk, can interact not only with the current user but also with each other. This allows Deku to talk with the remnants of his past predecessors, acquiring their knowledge during battles. The vestiges also grant him greater resistance to mind attacks, as their combined willpower work alongside his own.
- Previous Users:
- Yoichi Shigaraki - The first user of One For All. He created this power when his older brother, All For One, gave him a Quirk that stockpiled energy, not knowing that his brother had a useless Quirk that could pass itself on. The two combined to create One For All and store a vestige of Yoichi inside the Quirk even after his death. He is noted to have very high willpower, as seen in his ability to fight both All For One and Tomura when they attempted to steal One For All.
- Kudo - The second user of One For All. He was described as an excellent leader who managed to gather multiple people to confront All For One, who was at the peak of his power. He saved Yoichi from All For One's imprisonment, acting as a catalyst of One For All's arrival. His original Quirk, Gearshift, has been stockpiled and passed on through One For All.
- Bruce - The third user of One For All. He lived in the worst time of history when every conflict was for survival, which made him and Kudo disagree with Deku's desire of saving Shigaraki. Even still, they decided to support Deku after Yoichi reminded them how they had saved him, even though they knew he was All For One's relative. His original Quirk, Fa Jin, has been stored and passed on through One For All.
- Hikage Shinomori - The fourth user of One For All. He was noted to be a lonely individual who didn't like society's current state. He had One For All for 18 years, dedicating his life to building up power as he knew he wouldn't be able to kill All For One. He passed the Quirk on to Daigoro Banjo before dying of old age at 40, an aftereffect of having two Quirks in his body. His original Quirk, Danger Sense, has been passed on through One For All.
- Daigoro Banjo - The fifth user of One For All. He was a brash and loud man that reminded Deku of All Might. His attitude is the most eccentric of the vestiges in One For All. He was the first vestige besides Yoichi to actually speak to Deku. He managed to pass the Quirk on to En while dying fighting All For One. His original Quirk, Blackwhip, has been stored and passed on through One For All.
- En Tayutai - The sixth user of One For All. He was said to be a smart young man with a great sense of strategy and control over his Quirk. He passed One For All on to Nana Shimura before dying in his battle with All For One. His original Quirk, Smokescreen, has been accumulated and passed on through One For All.
- Nana Shimura - The seventh user of One For All. She is a kind, beautiful woman and the grandmother of Tomura Shigaraki. She was Toshinori Yagi's mentor and friend of Gran Torino. She fervently believed that those who smiled in the face of even the greatest adversity were truly the strongest. She passed the Quirk on to Toshinori and trained him before falling in her battle with All For One. Her original Quirk, Float, has been stockpiled and passed on through One For All.
- Toshinori Yagi - The eighth user of One For All. He was once cheered as Japan's greatest and most powerful hero due to his unparalleled charisma and immense strength. After defeating All For One and losing his last remaining embers of One For All, he retired to focus on his work as a teacher at U.A. High, acting as Deku's mentor. He had no Quirk before inheriting One For All, thus allowing him to refine the power for about 40 years before passing it on to Deku.
Gearshift: Gearshift allows the user to alter the speed at which things accelerate through space. It's even capable of changing speeds while ignoring the laws of inertia. This allows him to greatly alter his own speed and/or the speed of his target, and enhance the impact force of his own attacks. After years of being empowered within One For All, Gearshift has evolved into an unusual power that can no longer be wielded in the normal way. It has also been designated as a last resort due to the drawback of using it for too long. Gearshift had originally belonged to the second successor of One For All, Kudo.
- Transmission: Deku rushes toward his opponent and delivers several punches, with each consecutive hit increasing the speed of Gearshift, before sending his opponent flying. These increases in speed are labeled as "gears", with the gears being Second Gear, Third Gear, and Top Gear, the final and fastest speed. He can use a Low Gear to lower his own speed and/or the speed of his target.
- Detroit Smash Quintuple: Deku enhances himself with Gearshift and performs five Detroit Smashes in quick succession.
- Overdrive: Deku uses Gearshift and Fa Jin on himself, improving both his speed and power to catch up to opponents and unleash powerful attacks on them. The force he unleashes is described as 120% of One For All and can be applied to existing Ultimate Moves.
Fa Jin: A Quirk that gives Deku the ability to temporarily store kinetic energy from repeated movements, and then release that energy as a powerful burst of strength and speed. It has become vastly stronger as the generations have passed due to the accumulating energy of One For All. With the use of Fa Jin he can reach speeds that rival even All Might at his prime, allowing him to travel hundreds of kilometers in a few seconds. Fa Jin originally belonged to the third successor of One For All, Bruce.
- Faux 100%: By combining Fa Jin with a slingshot version of Blackwhip, Deku is able to increase his speed tremendously, such that he even compares himself to All Might. By using this, he was able to surpass the speed of Lady Nagant's bullets to save Overhaul and defeat her.
Danger Sense: This Quirk allows Deku to detect the hostility and bloodlust nearby, and has grown far stronger since the time of its original user due to the stockpiling effect of One For All. By alerting him with what Deku describes as a strong stabbing sensation in his head, he can dodge attacks or be alerted to a threat before it could reach him. When it first appeared, Danger Sense took an immense toll on Deku's mind, but through practice and training, he is now able to properly use it to avoid any incoming attacks. Danger Sense originally belonged to the fourth successor of One For All, Hikage Shinomori.
Blackwhip: This Quirk gives Deku the ability to create tendrils of dark energy from his body and control them at will. This Quirk has grown substantially more powerful since its original user's time due to the stockpiling energy of One For All. Deku can use it to capture enemies and improve his maneuverability by grabbing onto objects and swinging across the air with ease. He can wrap tendrils around his limb as a sort of recoil buffer to counter the immense force of 100%, cover himself in layers of Blackwhip for protection, and even use the Quirk to expand and reinforce his muscles and tendons, making it easily the most versatile power on his arsenal. Blackwhip belonged to the fifth successor of One For All, Daigoro Banjo.
- Blackwhip - Froppy Style: Deku imitates Froppy's style by launching Blackwhip from his mouth, moving around with great agility even if all his limbs are unusable. He used this technique to protect Shoto from Dabi's onslaught.
- Blackwhip - Pinpoint Focus: Deku concentrates Blackwhip on a single point, firing it from his arm with vast precision towards his opponent at high speeds, and then using the tendril as a grappling hook to boost his incredible speed even further.
- Blackchain: By combining the strength and stretchiness of Blackwhip with the power of Fa Jin, Deku creates a chain to ensnare his opponent. He is able to use this chain to throw his foes large distances. He can even use Gearshift to boost its speed.
- Overlay: Deku uses Blackwhip to reinforce his whole body, pulling at the muscles and tendons inside him to simulate movement, forcing his wounded and immobilized body to move far beyond its normal limits. A super move so advanced that even the original owner of Blackwhip was amazed by it.
Smokescreen: A Quirk that allows Deku to generate large amounts of smoke from his body. It has grown stronger since the time of its original user, though it has no offensive potential. Deku is able to produce enough smoke to obscure multiple city blocks. He uses this Quirk to conceal civilians from threats, or to catch enemies by surprise. Smokescreen was the power of the sixth successor of One For All, En Tayutai.
- Smokescreen - Full Blast: Deku instantly produces an enormous cloud of smoke that obstructs the vision of his opponents. Deku used this move with Lady Nagant to grant himself some time to prepare a counter plan against her.
Float: A Quirk that allows Deku to suspend himself in mid-air, and together with Air Force it grants him the ability to fly with little to no restrictions. He first manifested Float during his battle against Shigaraki in the All-Out War, and used it along with Blackwhip to save several Pro Heroes and classmates from a wave of Decay. Float was the Quirk of the seventh bearer of One For All, Nana Shimura.
