Summary

Izuku Midoriya (緑谷出久 Midoriya Izuku), also known as Deku (デク Deku), was one of the 20 percent of people on Earth to be born without a quirk, a natural superpower that is a basic biological function in the modern society, earning him endless amounts of torment and bullying in school.

Even still, he dreamed of becoming an amazing hero like his lifelong idol All Might, the no. 1 hero of his country. That impossible dream became a reality after a chance meeting with All Might, who granted Deku his quirk. Now on his path to becoming the greatest hero, Deku battles nefarious villains, endless schoolwork, and his inner demons to become a worthy successor to the Symbol of Peace.

Powers and Abilities:

Attack Potency: Multi-City Block level (Stronger than Phantom Thief. Can knock the wind out of Dynamight with a throw and hit Shoto with a headbutt. Stated that 5% only gives him a small boost in power), Multi-City Block level+ with 5% (Capable of breaking a giant metal pillar with a drop kick), Large Island level+ with 100% (One For All is a crystalline network of power, carrying forth the strength of the former users and growing stronger with each new generation, making Deku just as powerful as All Might, which is supported by both himself and Endeavor) | Multi-City Block level (Has been training for nearly an entire year, making him significantly stronger than before), Multi-City Block level+ with 8% (Stronger than his 5%), Small City level with 20% (As strong as his later 20%), Large Island level+ with 100% (Destroyed a supercell thunderstorm with a massive shock wave) | Multi-City Block level (Much stronger than before), Large Town level with 10% (As powerful as Dynamight during the Endeavor Agency, who stated he has to grit his teeth to keep from falling behind Deku), Large Town level+ with 15% (Broke through Flect Turn's Reflect, a feat that his 10% wasn't able to do), Small City level with 20% (Was capable of hurting a giant villain that withstood Dynamight's Howitzer Impact, and Deku's smashes were shown to be on par with it), Large Island level+ with 100%

Speed: Athletic Human (Can run on par with Dynamight) with Supersonic+ reactions and combat speed (Reacted and threw a smash before Shoto's ice froze him), Hypersonic with 5% (Could move faster than bullets. As quick if not quicker than Ingenium's Recipro Extend), Sub-Relativistic with 100% (Was stated to be as quick as All Might) | Supersonic (Able to move at high speeds) with Hypersonic+ reactions and combat speed (Can react to attacks from Nine even in his base state), Hypersonic+ with 8% (Deku in this state is far superior to his 5%. Has been said to be as fast as Dynamight, if not faster), High Hypersonic with 20% (Overhaul could barely avoid his Manchester Smash and his speed was complimented for it. Far superior to his 10% and 15%), Sub-Relativistic with 100% (Can launch shock waves at great speeds, and keep up with those capable of avoiding his air attacks) | Supersonic with Hypersonic+ reactions and combat speed (Can react to and dodge lasers, which were later shown to be quick enough to tag his 10%), Hypersonic+ with 10% (Vastly superior to his 8% speed. As quick as Dynamight at the Endeavor Agency), High Hypersonic with 15% (Able to somewhat keep up against Flect Turn, when his 10% was being outpaced with ease), higher with 20%, Sub-Relativistic with 100%

Lifting Strength: Class 100 (Managed to lift up a truck to the top of a trash mountain. Can lift and swing a steel plate with this amount of force), Class K with 5% (Slightly weaker than the strength of his 8%), Class T with 100% (As powerful as All Might, who can hold back this much force) | Class K (Considerably stronger than before. Comparable to Shinso, who could pull two metal pipes out of their joints), higher with 8% (Is strong enough to prevent the fall of a steel beam), Class G with 20% (As strong as his later 20%), Class T with 100% (Can hold back the force of nearly a hundred billion tons) | Class K (Much stronger than before), Class M with 10% (Pulled in several Villain Bots with just one arm), higher with 15% (Stronger than his 10%), Class G with 20% (Able to grapple with Flect Turn, who took the immense pressure of several millions of tons with his arms), Class T with 100%

Striking Strength: Multi-City Block level, Multi-City Block level+ with 5%, Large Island level+ with 100% | Multi-City Block level, Multi-City Block level+ with 8%, Small City level with 20%, Large Island level+ with 100% | Multi-City Block level, Large Town level with 10%, Large Town level+ with 15%, Small City level with 20%, Large Island level+ with 100%

Durability: Multi-City Block level (More durable and trained than Phantom Thief's body, as it was stated that his limbs would've exploded if he had managed to copy the full power of One For All, while Deku is able to use it without blowing his limbs off. Can take strikes from a restrained Gran Torino, which can also hurt his 5%), Multi-City Block level+ with 5% (Could take the recoil of his kick that broke a large steel beam), Large Island level+ with 100% (His arm managed to survive a big clash against Muscular) | Multi-City Block level+ (Withstood attacks from Nine that were also able to injure Dynamight), higher with 8% (Survived being struck by a bolt of lightning from Nine, which is powerful enough to create a big crater even when most of it was absorbed by Chargebolt), Small City level with 20% (Grants him vastly more durability than both his 10% and 15%. Can endure the force of his own strikes), Large Island level+ with 100% (Survived attacks from Full Power Nine), far higher with Iron Soles (Undamaged by Deku's strongest kick at Full Cowl 100%) | Large Town level (Withstood the recoil and reflected energy from his 10%), higher with 10% (Comparable to Dynamight, who survived the impact of his own tornado), Large Town level+ with 15% (Took many reflected hits from Flect Turn which were breaking up his muscle fibers at 10%), Small City level with 20%, Large Island level+ with 100%, far higher with Iron Soles

Stamina: Superhuman (Deku trains relentlessly, even making exercises during his classes. Despite his timid demeanor, Deku has an iron will and will continue to fight for as long as he needs to. At the start of his career, he was capable of thinking coherently with a broken arm and two shattered legs while falling at terminal velocities after obliterating an Executor Bot. Later on he was able to endure the agonizing pain of using the full force of One For All many times, when a single use of 100% is enough to break the bones in his arm, all while receiving a beating from Muscular. He regained his composure shortly after, being able to travel from the top of a small mountain to his camp and was still able to keep fighting until the crippling pain of his untreated wounds finally forced him to stop. He can battle with Pixie-Bob's Earth Beasts for eight hours straight) | Superhuman (Has proven to be able to use Full Cowl 100% for several minutes without outside help, and has shown to be capable of fully enduring the pain of his broken bones) | Superhuman (Can endure having the power of his own smashes being reflected back at his limbs, tearing his muscles apart. He kept fighting despite several gaping holes being made in his body by laser beams)

Range: Standard Melee Range, Varies up to Tens of Kilometers with One For All (Can fire wind pressure of varying range depending on the power output. Can destroy giant boulders with 5% and 8%, and his 10% and 15% are even stronger. Able to form huge blasts of air with 20%, and create even tornadoes. His 100% was able to blew away a storm with an enormous shock wave, as well as form a tornado multiple kilometers tall. As strong as All Might, whose strikes could alter the weather), Hundreds of Meters with Blackwhip (Covered part of a city block in tendrils. Can easily swing around a large bridge)

Standard Equipment: His Hero Costume, which the Support Department specially made to resist wear and provide support to his arms and legs, as well as protection to his face with a mouthguard. Gamma Costume features upgraded gloves that give additional reinforcement to his arms, along with Iron Soles adjuncted to his shoes that protect his feet and enhances his kicks with a "double impact". He later requests the Air Force Gloves from Hatsume which help him focus wind pressure to utilize it as a concentrated air blast.

  • Optional Equipment: The Full Gauntlet is a support item developed by Melissa Shield and given to Deku after she noticed he was limiting his output of One For All. The item grants him the ability to use three attacks at 100% without harming himself. Deku first tested the Full Gauntlet at 30% while fighting against the I-Island Security Bots. It was later destroyed at the climax of Deku and All Might's battle with Wolfram.

Intelligence: Gifted (He has shown to be exceptionally intelligent on several occasions. He has also proven to be a quick learner, which has helped him figure out most of One For All's mechanisms in a short time period and work around its limitations. He has displayed sharp observation and analysis skills, coming up with a plan to escape dozens of villains when he was trapped on a boat. It's usually his intelligence that has helped him more than his Quirk. Gran Torino even complimented his intelligence, saying that Deku is the kind of person who thinks before he acts. His grades are one of the highest in his entire class, showing that his constant training with One For All doesn't interfere with his studies. Deku also possesses a borderline encyclopedic knowledge of heroes, including their Quirks and combat strategies, making him resourceful as a result. His time at U.A. High School has helped him develop his own signature Shoot Style, allowing him to fight on par against opponents with many years of experience) | Gifted (Deku has developed analytical skills that allowed him to accurately predict the movements of people like Lemillion, who was capable of casually outpacing the majority of Class 1-A. He has also proven to be an exceptional strategist, having laid out an entire plan to lure in and capture a group of villains who individually, were far stronger than Class 1-A, a plan that ended up succeeding) | Gifted (Developed extremely quick in order to keep up with Endeavor's training. He learned how to create multiple long-lasting Blackwhip strands in one week, when before he could barely hold even a single little Blackwhip strand together. Figured out the specifics of Flect Turn's Quirk easily and devised numerous forms to possibly get around it. Can deflect and easily avoid several homing arrows while carrying someone on his shoulder)

Weaknesses: Using 100% of One For All's power will break the bones of the limb it's used in. While Deku has proven to be able to push through the pain due to his monumental stamina, he can only endure the effects of 100% for a few minutes before collapsing. Blackwhip can become uncontrollable if he doesn't keep his emotions in check. One For All can potentially be stolen if the thief's will is stronger than the user's own will. While not harmful, operating at 20% of his power is painful enough to limit his movements a bit, making him predictable. He was only able to properly control Blackwhip in combat during his training with Endeavor.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

One For All: Deku's Quirk grants him access to the accumulated energy of the eight bearers before him, giving him a large increase in power. Deku has shown to able to properly control certain percentages of One For All, utilizing it to increase his strength, durability, and speed. However, if Deku doesn't distribute One For All evenly throughout his body, his limbs can be severely injured by the force of his movements. In addition to the physical strength, One For All can pass on the Quirks of the previous users, with their powers being vastly enhanced as a result. The first Quirk manifested by Deku was Blackwhip, and he has the potential to learn and control five more Quirks.

  • Detroit Smash: A super attack Deku replicated from All Might after inheriting One For All. This smash is a straightforward hit focusing One For All's accumulated power into the fist. At 100% it was powerful enough to smash through every floor of a multi-story building and bust a hole in the roof. Deku has also demonstrated to be able to use this technique with weaker percentages.
  • Delaware Smash: Deku infuses One For All at full power on his fingers, and then flicks them to generate a strong shock wave, with enough power to create a fissure in a lake capable of dragging many enemies towards its center, making them unable to escape. It was later used against Shoto to break through his relentless waves of ice during the Sports Festival.
    • Delaware Smash Air Force: Deku uses his Air Force Gloves to fire a compressed air blast towards his opponent. It carries enough power to harm and stun Gentle in mid-air, giving Deku enough time to catch up. This technique requires at least 20% of One For All's power to be used, and Deku can shoot up to four wind blasts at a time with one hand.
  • 1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash: The strongest smash in Deku's arsenal, which consists of activating One For All 100% during an adrenaline rush and then striking his opponent with a full-swing attack. When performing the super move, Deku uses a full-handed Delaware Smash and follows with an extremely devastating Detroit Smash. At the climax of his battle against Muscular, Deku was able to overwhelm and launch him with enough force to create a massive crater on the side of a mountain.

One For All: Full Cowl: This technique allows him to wield up to 20% (initially 5%, which was then upgraded to 8%, and later to 10% and 15%) of One For All across his whole body, letting the energy flow through him instead of concentrating it in a one place. Full Cowl grants him enhanced strength, durability, mobility, and speed. It also prevents him from destroying his limbs whenever he uses this Quirk. In extreme cases, he can use Full Cowl up to 100% at the cost of severe damage to his body.

  • One For All: Full Cowl - 5%: Deku's first state of Full Cowl, developed with the help of Gran Torino. This power-up grants Deku enhanced superhuman strength, as well as a higher level of mobility that allows him to jump between buildings with ease. With this small percentage, Deku can break through steel walls and dodge even bullets.
  • One For All: Full Cowl - 8%: A level of One For All greater than 5%. This increase in all his stats allowed Deku to surpass Dynamight's power and speed during their second battle. This boost in strength already makes Deku one of the strongest students in his school.
  • One For All: Full Cowl - 10-15%: At the time of his Hero Work-Studies in the Endeavor Agency, Deku manages to rise his normal limit of One For All from 8% to 10%, and up to 15%, far improving his physical capabilities to new heights, with him now being able to properly control Blackwhip, and using it in conjunction with his Air Force to defeat any kind of villains.
  • One For All: Full Cowl - 20%: First wielded against Overhaul, Deku exceeds his limits at the time and utilizes 20% of One For All's power, distributing it across his body and giving him a significant boost in strength, enough to be able to produce strong shock waves with his attacks. As time went on, Deku was increasingly capable of using 20% without needing to strain his body too much.
  • One For All: Full Cowl - 100%: Deku activates One For All to its fullest extent through his body, granting him a tremendous boost in strength and speed, reaching All Might-like levels of power and allowing him to beat up Overhaul in his final form. He was able to use this power in his fights against Nine and Flect Turn without needing the help of Eri's Rewind Quirk.

One For All: Full Cowl - Shoot Style: A variation of Full Cowl that Deku developed to solve the issues caused by his increasingly damaged arms. He channels the power of One For All primarily into his legs and lower torso, allowing him to use their natural greater strength to enhance his firepower. Shoot Style consists of maneuvering the body with fast and precise movements to deliver mighty kicks, making Deku an incredibly mobile and agile combatant.

  • Manchester Smash: Deku leaps into the air and flips around using the ceiling to bring down an axe kick upon his opponent. Although Overhaul managed to dodge it, it broke the ground thoroughly enough that Overhaul wasn't able to completely retaliate using his Quirk.
  • St. Louis Smash: Deku propels himself from the ground, before swinging around his body to perform a roundhouse kick to his opponent's face. He first used this move to incapacitate Gentle Criminal, who had been empowered by La Brava's Quirk to match Deku's Full Cowl.
  • United States of World Smash: Deku uses 100% of One For All's power and delivers a powerful head-on kick to his opponent. This move was used to defeat Flect Turn.

Blackwhip: This Quirk gives Deku the ability to create tendrils of dark energy from his body and control them at will. This Quirk has grown substantially more powerful since its original user's time due to the stockpiling energy of One For All. Deku can use it to capture enemies and improve his maneuverability by grabbing onto objects and swinging across the air with ease. Blackwhip originally belonged to the fifth successor of One For All, Daigoro Banjo.
